William Foster Jr.
Memorial services for the Rev. William Hague Foster Jr. of Sherman will be at 2 p.m. today in First Presbyterian Church in Whitewright with the Rev. Robert H. Thompson, minister of Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Dallas, and the Rev. Michael Rutledge, minister of First Presbyterian Church in Whitewright, officiating.
Foster died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at his residence.
He was born July 13, 1918, in Midland. He graduated from Austin College in Sherman. He received a bachelor of divinity degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 1942. He married
Dorothy Foster on Aug. 28, 1942, in Dallas. He served First Presbyterian Church in Lubbock. He as a U.S. Navy Seabee veteran of World War II.
He received a master of theology degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, and he studied at Westminster Choir College. He became an assistant minister at First Presbyterian Church in Houston in 1948. He moved to Arlington, Va., where he became pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church in 1952. While at Trinity, he received a doctor of divinity degree from Austin College. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Va. He moved to Sherman in 1977, and served as interim minister of First Presbyterian Church in Denison. He served nearly 17 years at First Presbyterian Church in Whitewright, retiring in 1995.
A daughter, Judith Lynn Foster Salmon, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Nancy Foster McGraw of Englewood, Colo.; two sons, Evan Sitter Foster of Murphy and William Hague Foster III of Highland Park; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
John Boggs
Memorial services for John Boggs, 58, of Lubbock will be at 4 p.m. today in Westmont Christian Church with the Rev. Rick Casteel officiating.
His body was donated to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Services are under direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home.
Boggs died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in Latter Day Saints Hospital in Salt Lake City.
He was born June 6, 1940, in Linch, Ky. He married
Gwen Stromberg on March 3, 1979, in Lubbock. He was a maintenance engineer at the Lubbock Federal Building for nine years. He was a member of Westmont Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Shane of Idalou and David Allen of Collierville, Tenn.; a daughter, Kimberly Fitzgerald of Laurel, Miss.; two brothers, Paul of Miami, Fla., and Sam of Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Shirley DeVereaux of Leesburg, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Westmont Christian Church, 4808 Utica Ave., Lubbock 79414.
The family will receive friends at the church after services.
Archie Phillips
SNYDER - Services for Archie William Phillips, 83, of Snyder will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Northside Baptist Church in Snyder with the Rev. David Phillips, his son and pastor, officiating. Glenn Speaks and Monte Hilliard of Lubbock will assist.
Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wright Colonial Funeral Home.
Phillips died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder.
He was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Lake City, Mich., and married
Rosie Trujillo on June 28, 1942, in Denver. He was a mechanic, a World War II veteran and was associated with the Gideons.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Jackie Coon of Corunna, Mich., Bert Speaks of Shreveport, La., and Caroh Roberson of Arlington; two sons, William of Los Lunas, N.M., and David of Snyder; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Family visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Bonnie Suttle
Services for Bonnie Suttle, 91, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. today in Chapel of Angels Funeral Home with John Ballard officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under direction of Chapel of Angels Funeral Home.
She died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, in Methodist Hospital.
She was a member of First Baptist Church. Her husband, Charlie Suttle, and two sons, Doyle and Dale, and a daughter, Mattie Lou, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a sister, Delene Harris of Arkansas; and three grandchildren, Pam Hughes, Ricky Suttle and Ronnie Suttle, all of Lubbock.
Pat Mullinax
MORTON - Services for Pat Mullinax, 77, of Morton will be at 2 p.m. today at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Morton with Bill Schlabach, of the Second and Taylor Street Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial will be in Morton Memorial cemetery under the direction of Ellis Funeral Homes.
Mullinax died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center Lakeside.
She was born May 28, 1921, in Hamilton. She moved from Hamilton to the Bledsoe Community in 1927 and then to Morton in 1931.
She was a teacher's aide at Morton Elementary School and an assistant librarian at the Love Memorial Library in Morton. She was a member of the YM Study Club.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Ann Tyson on Dec. 18, 1971, and a brother, Raymond Strickland.
Survivors include her mother, Elsie Strickland of Morton; a grandson, John Tyson of Lubbock; and two great-grandchildren.

Juana Mendez
Services for Juana Maria Mendez, 59, of Lubbock were Thursday in Guadalupe Catholic Church in Durango with the Rev. Julian Paz officiating.
Burial was in Pantion Municipal in Gomez Palacio, Durango under direction of Zepeda Funeral Home in Durango. Local arrangements were under direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.
She died Monday, Feb. 15, 1939, in Gomez Palacio, Durango.
She married
Roberto L. Mendez Sr. in 1963, in Laredo. She was a member of Christ the King Church. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Joseph Alex of Lubbock and Robert Jr. of Hurst; two daughters, Ernestine L. Stanfield of Lubbock and Patricia Torres of San Antonio; a brother, Guillermo Sifuentes of Torion, Mexico; three sisters, Francisca Sifuentes and Guillermina Sifuentes, both of Gomez Palacio and Guadalupe Sifuentes of Guadalajara, Mexico; and 11 grandchildren.
Janice Sinclair
Graveside services for Janice J. Sinclair, 72, of Lubbock will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the City of Lubbock cemetery.
Her body was donated to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
She died Nov. 29, 1998, in University Medical Center.
She was born May 20, 1926, near DeQueen, Ark. She worked for J.C. Penney, Shell Oil Co. and Furr's. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Leona "Chris" Whipple of Lubbock; a son, Douglas Sinclair of Lubbock; a brother, J.N. Brannan of Lubbock; a sister, Wynona Davis of Grand Junction, Colo.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Velma Hodges
HEREFORD - Services for Velma Caldwell Hodges, 91, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fellowship of Believers Church in Hereford, with Dr. Nathan Stone officiating.
Burial will be in West Park cemetery under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home in Hereford.
Hodges died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at Golden Plains Nursing Center in Hereford.
She was born June 27, 1907, in Decatur. She married
C.W. Hodges on Dec. 20, 1927. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1940. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Jo Purcell, in 1995.
She spent 30 years as Deaf Smith County treasurer and was a member of Hereford Women's Business and Professional Organization. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had served as secretary of the young people's department.
Survivors include a son, Keith of San Antonio; a daughter, Bettye Owen of Hereford; a sister, Eunice Boyer of Hereford; a sister-in-law, Lelia Caldwell of Hereford; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Georgia Hall
Services for Georgia Ann Hall, 86, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Greater St. Mark Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Armstead officiating.
Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens cemetery in Woodrow under direction of Ossie Curry Funeral Home.
She died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, in Highland Medical Center.

Wilford Hall.i She moved to Lubbock from Rusk County. She was a member of Greater St. Mark Baptist Church. She was the mother of the church, and she was a member of the church choir and Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Wilford Earl of Lubbock; three daughters, Ora Dell Green of Mount Enterprise, Annie Doris Shepherd of Nacogdoches and Vivian Marie Hall of Lubbock; three brothers, Samuel James Simon of Mount Enterprise, Joy Simon of Fort Worth and Burnell Simon of Henderson; two sisters, Leona Williams of Garrison and Katherine Reed of Lufkin; 19 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.
Mary Guice
SLATON - Graveside services for Mary M. Guice, 99, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. today in Englewood cemetery with Jack Gordon, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating.

She died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in Lubbock Health Care Center.
She was born Feb. 7, 1900, in Coleman County. She lived near Eden until moving to Plainview in 1957. She was a schoolteacher in Pear Valley and Melvin Schools. She was a saleslady at Mudd's Dry Goods and Variety Store in Eden. She was a clerk at Dargan's Department Store and a saleslady at Stanley Home Products in Plainview. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She moved to Lubbock In 1983.
Survivors include two nephews and seven nieces.
Mary Jane Lewis

Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Bowie cemetery under direction of Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.
She died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born Nov. 17, 1911, in Childress. She moved to Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School. She attended Wayland Baptist University and graduated from Texas Tech University. She taught school in Plainview for eight years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Pastor's Class, Travel Study Club, Plainview Women's Club and Plainview Senior Citizens. She married
Gene Lewis on June 15, 1940, in Lubbock.
Survivors include her husband.
