Dwayne York
Dwayne A. York, 57, of Lubbock went to be with his Lord on Thursday, July 22, 2010 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Indiana Baptist Church Sanctuary with Pastor Steve McMeans officiating and a special word from Pastor Vester Thompson. He will be laid to rest at Peaceful Gardens cemetery in Lubbock. Family visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home. Dwayne was born in Haskell, Texas on June 9th, 1953 to the late George and Willie York.
He began a 36 year career with the United States Postal Service in Lubbock as a postal assistant, carrier and then promoted to supervisor and station manager in several locations. He served as Postmaster of Pecos, Fort Stockton and Orange, Texas. He received several awards and accommodations while with the postal service.
Dwayne married
the love of his life, Judy in 1997. Dwayne was devoted to his family and some of his hobbies were hunting, boating, fishing, bowling, woodworking and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. Dwayne enjoyed building frames and stretching canvas for Judy’s paintings. He was a Gideon, and member of Indiana Baptist Church and former dedicated member of North Orange Baptist Church.
Our beloved “Yorkie” was a gift from God and his life was a gift as well. He was born with Tetralogy of Fallot (blue baby syndrome) and was born with little chance of survival. He was the third open heart patient at age eight in the United States.
Left to carry on Dwayne’s legacy are his wife and best friend Judy, his son Lee York and wife Veronica, daughter Billie Michelle York, son James Mayfield, and daughter Monica Loya and husband Michael, sister Karen Neal and husband Jimmie, nephew, Chris Neal, grandchildren Madelyn and Lilyann York, Hannah and Emilie Mayfield, Justice and Jenna Loya, uncles, W.H. York, Cliff Switzer and aunt Manon Mitchell.
He was special to many and was a gentle giant, a loving father and husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend for life.

Pamela Nicol Focke
Pamela Nicol Focke, age 33, a longtime resident of Boerne, died as the result of an automobile accident on Monday, June 16, 2003. Born on March 29, 1970, at Myrtle Beach AFB, South Carolina, the daughter of Dr. John Focke and Kitti McCarty Focke. She had attended Boerne schools for 12 years, graduating from Boerne High School in 1988, where she was Freshman and Sophomore Cheerleader. Pam graduated from Texas Tech in 1992 with a BS in Sociology and from Sam Houston State University in 1994 with a MA in Sociology. She was a professor of Sociology at N.W. Vista College in San Antonio. Because of her love for animals, she had as her second profession a pet sitting service. Pamela is survived by her Daughter, Summer Rhianna Focke-Peters; Father and Step Mother, Dr. John and Dale Focke; Mother, Kitti Ferrick of Dripping Springs, TX; Grandmother, Polly McCarty of Corpus Christi; Father of Summer, Rob Peters; Sister, Darcy Seiter; Niece Candace Seiter; and Nephew, Chance Seiter. Visitation was on Wednesday, June 18 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Private Graveside Services were held at the Boerne cemetery, with Pastor Barbara Galloway-Edgar, Officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorials to a Scholarship Fund at Bank of America, 115 W. San Antonio St. Boerne, TX 78006 for Summer Rhianna Focke-Peters.
Elizabeth Teeter
Services for Nell Teeter, 75, of Lubbock will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 12, 2010 in Sanders Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
Nell Teeter went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 8, 2010. She was born June 3, 1935 in McKinney, TX to J.C. and Ruth Cashon. Nell married
the love of her life, Melvin Don Teeter, on August 1, 1952 in Lubbock, TX. She and her husband farmed for over 60 years in Lubbock and Hale Counties; she was also employed at Texas Instruments for fifteen years. Nell was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Deal where she was a Sunday School Teacher.
Nell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on August 19, 2009; and a daughter Tonda Renae Beeler, in April of 2009.
Loved ones include her sons, J.C. (Teresa) of Chandler, Ariz. And Kelly (Jessica) of Shallowater; grandchildren, Shad, Shaun, Cody, Heath, Ratonia, Ralynn, Nikki, Melanie, Jonathan and Kayla; sixteen great grandchildren; brother, Carlton Cashon of Decatur, TX; her sister, Wanda Wynn of Anna, TX and son-in-law, Hubert Beeler of Idalou, TX.
Kathy McCallum
Graveside services for Kathy McCallum, 66, of Lubbock will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park with Rev. Dusty Thompson of Redeemer Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
Kathy passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010. She was born November 30, 1943 in Bakersfield, CA. She attended Lubbock Schools and moved to Dallas in the early 1960’s. She retired from AT&T / Lucent in 1997 and moved back to Lubbock.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Essie Lee Morrison; stepfather, L. T. Morrison; and a brother, Leonard D. Morrow.
Kathy is survived by 2 sisters, Martha Hanks and Sandy Myres and her husband Gerrell both of Lubbock; numerous nieces & nephews which she loved as her own.

Michael Avallone
Graveside services for Michael J. Avallone, 93, of Lubbock will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 30, 2010 at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
Michael lived a full happy active life until he passed away on July 27, 2010. Michael Joseph Avallone was born on February 7, 1917 in Newark, NJ. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II where he started his career as a mechanical engineer. He married
Emma Cleo Edwards on September 19, 1943 in Lubbock, TX. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Gary Michael and James Allen Avallone. Michael and Cleo were charter members of Southcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Beth Smith; his longtime caregivers and friend, Theresa, Julius, Ryan and Kimberly Abella.
Michael loved his two dogs, Amy and Paris. And to his friends at Barnes and Nobles, thank you for being there for him.
B. Randolph Swindle
Graveside services for B. Randolph Swindle, 76, of Lubbock will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2010 at Resthaven Memorial Park. Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Church with Dr. Michael Passmore officiating. Family will receive friends at the church following the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
Randy passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2010 from injuries he sustained in a jeep rollover.
Although a native of Jasper, Alabama, Randy had lived 58 years in Lubbock where he graduated from Texas Tech, married
, raised a family, and was still actively working as a CPA at Sandefur and Swindle.
He leaves behind his wife, Lois; daughter, Deborah Blake (Wells); sons Nathan (Julie); and grandchildren, Catherine, Ben, Sam, and Emily.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to First Christian Church, 2323 Broadway Ave, Lubbock, Texas 79401.
Wanda Stanton
Wanda Mae Stanton, 84, of Lubbock passed on August 5, 2010 at Bender Terrace Care Center. Wanda was born July 21, 1926, in Lubbock the daughter of Nina Mae and Truman Zachary. She graduated from Brownfield High School in 1944.
Wanda served as president of the Bayless Elementary PTA from 1965 through 1966, employed with Lord and Taylor as Department Manager in Atlanta Georgia. Wanda also worked in the Traffic and Parking Department at Texas Tech and as a clerical specialist with University Medical Center.
Before transferring membership to First United Methodist Church of Lubbock, she was a member of Forrest Heights Methodist Church and St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Betty Connell.
She is survived by a brother Rudy Zachary and wife Wanda of Lockney, TX; 3 sons, James L. Stanton, of Lubbock, Michael Stanton of Lubbock, Richard Stanton and wife Cyndi of Dawn, Texas; two daughters, Barbara Tarro and husband Bill of Lubbock, Brenda Parker of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Clay Tarro and wife Kelly, Bryan Cooke and wife Maria, Sarah Parker; and one great-grandchild Paige Tarro.
Services are planned for 9:00 a.m., Saturday, August 7, 2010 at First United Methodist Church in Bowman Chapel with Dr. Keith Wiseman officiating. Interment will be in Plainview cemetery and Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
A visitation will be on Friday, 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Foster Homes of Lubbock, Children’s Protective Services, or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Emilie Wolf
Emilie Wolf (nee Hentschel), loving mother and grandmother, was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 24, 1905 and died on December 13, 2002 in Boerne, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband Max Wolf. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Thompson; Grandchildren, Stacee Thompson, Jill Miller, and Troy Thompson; Great Grandchildren, Austin and Karli Miller; Brother, Edwin Hentschel of Bunnell, FL; Nieces and Nephews. The funeral will be in Darby, PA and interment in Broomall, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Leon Springs Presbyterian Church, P. O. Debbie Gray Clevenger
Debbie Gray Clevenger, 58, of Lubbock, went to be with the lord, Sunday, October 3rd. 2010.
She was born on June 9th, 1952 in Houston, Texas. Debbie spent the majority of her life in Lubbock and graduated from Lubbock High School in 1970.
She had numerous hobbies and passions in life, but her biggest passion was love for others and taking care of family. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, riding Harleys, and traveling to the mountains.
She will be best remembered as a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Debbie is survived by her husband James Clevenger of Lubbock and son Kevin Gray and wife Krystal of Farmington, NM. She is also survived by her mother Elsie Severson of Lubbock, four brothers, four sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Kelly Gray who passed away in 2009.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff and volunteers of VistaCare Hospice for their support and care.
