V. R. Haltom on August 6, 1915 in Colorado Springs, CO. He died December 23, 1966. She was a longtime active member of the Crosbyotn First United Methodist Church where she was very faithful until she could no longer attend due to health. She was a member of the Missionary Society and the Wesleyian Guild. She was awarded the Silver Life membership to United Methodist Women for women of 100 years. She belonged to two Forty Two clubs and was a chaarter member of the Needlepoint Club. She was a homemaker and formerly was a clerk at T. George's Dry Good Store and also clerked for Campbell Dry Goods and Wallace Dry Goods. She moved from Oklahoma to Texas as a child and was a graduate of Childress High School. She and her late husband moved to Crosbyton in 1918 where they farmed for many years. She is preceded in death by 2 sons: Ray Haltom in 1972 and Henry Haltom in 1994 also 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include: 1 daughter Faye Hodges of Crosbyton, 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren, 2 Sisters; Helen Crews of Lubbock and Janet Wright of Childress.

She was a homemaker and moved to Shallowater in 1979 from New Mexico. She was a former resident of Carrizozo, New Mexico, Abernathy, Hale Center, Post and Ralls. She lived in Ralls from 1930 to 1934. He moved to Ralls in 1951 from Floresville and had worked as a farmer for several different local farmers. He worked as a sexton for the Ralls cemetery from 1986 until his retirement in 1995. He was preceded in death by a sister Maria Herrera in 1975. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Liberal for the past 13 years moving from Lubbock. He owned and operated McGaugh Motors in Ralls for many years. He finished high school in Plainview and attended business college. He moved to Ralls in 1945 from Plainview. He was a US army Veteran of WWII. Survivors include: his wife Cora of Ralls, a son Houston McGaugh of College Station, Texas, two daughters; Linda Shelby of Baytown, Barbara Grogan of Amarillo, two brothers; J. D. McGaugh and J. R. She was born November 3, 1932 in Crosbyton. She was a member of the Galilee Baptist Church where she presently served as Treasurer and Missionary Teacher. She has also served as Secretary, Director BTU, Sunday School, GA Girls, Usher Board and Mission President in past years. She graduated from Dunbar High School in Lubbock and beautician school in Ft. Worth. She also attended Amarillo College and took nursing courses in El Paso. Returning to Crosbyton she owned her own beauty shop and had a restaurant as well. Later she worked ar Crosbyton Hospital for 12 years as a nurses aide and visiting nurse"" service from Lubbock. She worked as a cashier at the Winn's Store in Crosbyton until her retirement. Don Wayne Morton
Don Wayne Morton 66 of Wilson departed this life on Nov. 1, 2007 in Lubbock. He was born April 7, 1941 in Matador, Texas to JW Morton and Margaret (Martin) Morton. Don attended school in Wilson where he was a lifelong citizen. He married
Peggy Polk in Tahoka on Dec. 22, 1961. Don was the owner of Morton Manufacturing in Wilson. He was the current County Commissioner of precinct 1. Don was elected Council Member in April 1978 and was elected Mayor in May of 1982 serving through May of 1985. He was a member of the Lion's Club and the First Baptist Church in Wilson. Mr. Morton served in the United States Marine Corp.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 46 years; one son, Craig Morton and wife Jeanna of Idalou; one daughter, Angie Taylor and husband Bryan of Leander, Texas; four grandchildren, Justin Taylor, Nick Taylor, Jace Morton, Jake Morton; two sisters, Shirley Merriott of Mesquite, Texas, Donna Donaldson of Lubbock;
Mr. Morton was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Wayne Morton in 1963 and one granddaughter Kayte Morton.
The family will greet friends on Sunday Nov. 4, 2007 from 3 -5 p.m., at the White Funeral Home in Tahoka.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 5, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Wilson, with Billy Parmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Memorial cemetery in Wilson.
Arrangements are under the personal care of White Funeral Home in Tahoka.
Hoyt McCullough
Hoyt McCullough, 65, of Denver City, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, in Denver City.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at the Church of the Nazarene, with Reverend Tom Weir officiating and Reverend Jodie Talbot assisting. Interment will follow in the Denver City Memorial Park with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City.
Hoyt was born July 20, 1942, in New Home, to Charles and Dorothy McCullough. He married
Julia Weir in Lubbock Aug. 17, 1962. Hoyt was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy McCullough, and a brother, Jimmy McCullough.
He is survived by his wife, Julia McCullough of Denver City; a son, John McCullough and wife Alecia of Denver City; a daughter, Keri Fenton and husband Kevin of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Kirk Fenton, Keith Fenton and Kraig Fenton; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Fenton, Calynn Fenton and Sean Fenton; two brothers, Len McCullough of Lubbock and Dennis McCullough of Chandler, Ariz.; and one sister, Dale Benson of Houston.

Gary passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, in Brownfield. He was born Dec. 2, 1942, in Borger to James Marvin and Pauline Elvira Campbell. He attended White Deer Schools. He moved to Brownfield in 1988. He is preceded in death by a great grandson.
He is survived by a son, James Bryan Campbell and wife Michelle of Amarillo; a daughter, Cindy Campbell and husband Larry of Amarillo; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Curtis "Coach" Campbell and wife Patsy of Brownfield; nieces and nephew, C. J. Campbell of Lubbock, Sara Hays of Lubbock and Amy Paiva of Brownfield.
