Robert Michael Hughes
Robert Michael Hughes, 54, of Lubbock, died Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with Bishop Don Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in the Afton cemetery.
"Mike" was born to Pete and Bernita Hughes in Midland and he attended schools in Lubbock and graduated from Coronado High School in 1972. He honorably served in the U.S. navy from 1975 through 1979. He spent his career in screen printing and retail management.
Mr. Hughes is survived by his mother, Bernita Hughes; two brothers, Boyd Brooks of Cove, Ark. and Bill Hughes of Lubbock; three sisters, Janet Hunton of Lubbock, Luann Stone of Jackson, Mich. and Carol Weidmann of Denver, Colo. Mike loved his many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Mike's Honor to Veterans War Memorial through the American Legion Post 575, P.O. Box 64427.
Emma Dorcus Isom
Emma Dorcus Isom, 77, of Idalou went to be with her dear Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, surrounded by her girls. Mrs. Isom was born Dec. 7, 1929, in Eldorado Springs, Mo., to James Ragan and Lilac Jones. She attended Corsicana High School, graduating in 1946. Mrs. Isom married
Virgil Isom in Idalou in 1973. Virgil preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1995.
Mrs. Isom was a homemaker, a member of the Civic and Culture Club, and of the Idalou United Methodist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Rhonda Pruitt of Idalou, Randye McKee of Lubbock, and Suzette Watts and husband Dr. Steve Watts of Jackson, Miss.; five grandchildren, Michael Pruitt, BodÈ McKee, Kristin Watts, Brian and wife Allison Watts, and Trevor Watts; and one great-grandchild, Kailey Johnson.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. today, Oct. 25, 2007, at White Funeral Home, in Idalou.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at Idalou United Methodist Church. The family asks that memorials and donations be made to Idalou EMS, Idalou Meals on Wheels, and Idalou United Methodist Church.
The family would like to say a special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Covenant MICU for their kindness and loving care of their dear mother. They would also like to thank all of Emma's dear friends for their constant love and prayers.

Charlie McClung
Graveside services for Charlie McClung, 81, of Lubbock will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 in the City of Lubbock cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
He passed away on Oct. 23, 2007.
Charles Frederick McClung was born May 3, 1926 in Lubbock, Texas to Joe and Marie McClung. He served in the U.S. Army. Charlie was a dental technician for many years and later was a locksmith for Deckleman's. He was a member of the Yellowhouse Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and was very involved with the Mule Skinners Club. He was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ.
Survivors include his sons, Shawn McClung and Charles "Dink" McClung; a daughter, Karen Ervin; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Christy, John Ross and Jessica; a great grandchild, Grant; sisters, Lula Mae Watkins and Jo Ann Robinson.
The family will receive friends from 7 -8 p.m., Thursday at Sanders Funeral Home.
Lucille Seybold Rushing
Lucille Seybold Rushing, born April 20, 1931 in Albuquerque, N.M., died Oct. 23, 2007, at Hermann Memorial City Hospital in Houston, from complications following surgery.
She is survived by Ronald L. Rushing Sr., her husband of fifty-five years; by son, Ronald L. Rushing Jr. and wife Helen; by daughter, Susan E. Rushing and husband Bill Shenkir; and by grandchildren, John, Connally, Jackson, Ali Ann, Austin and Shannnon. She was preceded in death by daughters, Rebecca Jayne Rushing and Lou Ann Rushing.
Lucille was a graduate of Texas Tech University, where she majored in Journalism. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, the Junior League of Houston, Kappa Kappa Gamma, the Briar Grove Park Women's Club, and she wrote a column for each issue of the Briargrove Park Newsletter. She enjoyed a long career as a residential real estate broker and was most recently associated with Prudential Gary Greene Realtors.
She cherished all times spent with her children, Ron and Susan and all of her grandchildren. She was proud of their many accomplishments and of the wonderful people they have become. She enjoyed being with her family, eating out together, shopping with grandchildren, and being their advocate in all things. She enjoyed her grandchildrens' accomplishments in music, sports and education. Her constant protector and companion, Fido, will miss her dearly.
Luci loved being with her friends in the Women's Club, Bridge Club and with the Water Aerobic Ladies. She was loving and caring to her family, and devoted and loyal to her many friends.
The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 15015 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079 (corner of Eldridge and Memorial). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Asperger Syndrome Parent/Professional Information Exchange via www.aspieinfo.com.
Lee Royce Crump
Lee Royce Crump, 83, of Shallowater, passed away Oct. 24, 2007. He was born on July 3, 1924 in Floyd County, Texas to Luther Clyde Crump and Susie O'Dell. He married
Camila Ramos on Dec. 19, 1975, in Lubbock.
Mr. Crump attended school in L.I.S.D. and was self-employed as a car dealer. He also attended Trinity Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Jeremy Ramos Salazar, of California; his daughter, Camie Crump of Shallowater; his twin brothers, Guy and Gay Crump of Lubbock; his sister, Doris Dye of Lubbock; and his two grandchildren, Kelsi Salazar and Kevin Salazar.
The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at White Funeral Home in Lubbock.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 at White Memorial Chapel in Lubbock with Chaplain Rachel Gunter Shapard officiating. Interment will follow at City of Lubbock cemetery.

Kennie Ray Dye
Kennie Ray Dye, 59, of Lubbock, was born July 16, 1948, in Espanola, NM. The biggest little man to ever waltz and laugh across Texas. He is survived by three wonderful kids, William Robert of Tulsa, Okla., Michael Ray of New Deal, and Karrie Lynn of Lubbock; three grandsons and one granddaughter; one brother, Johnny Dye; three sisters: Sharon Wright of Smyer, Sheila Bice of Lubbock, and Sonjia Stroope of Cotton Center; his friends; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by daddy, E.K., momma, Exie, and brother, Gary Wayne, all of Lubbock. He is in God's hands now, but he will always be big in our hearts. "Happy Trails, Bubba, until we meet again." Rix Funeral Directors is accepting friends and family until noon Friday. Graveside services are 2 p.m. today, the 26th, in Center Plains cemetery, on FM 179, 5 miles north of Cotton Center.
Viola Garcia-Lopez
Viola Garcia-Lopez, age 59, of Lubbock, was born Sept. 22, 1948, and passed away Oct. 22, 2007. Viola married
Leonardo Lopez, Mar. 14, 1989, and was a member of El Buen Pastor Church, in Lubbock. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and Texas Tech Red Raiders fan. She retired from the Texas Tech Health and Sciences Center in 2005. Viola is survived by her husband, Leonardo Lopez of Lubbock; sisters, Sue Aparicio and husband Jimmy of Lubbock, Eva Gour and husband Jimmy of Garland; brothers, Roy Garcia and wife Jenifer of Rockwall, David Garcia and wife Toni of Garland; nieces and nephews, Amy Monclova, Nicki Aparicio, Tiffany Gour, Jaason Hatfield, Kristi Crawford, Casi and Kaili Garcia, Josh and Danyale Servantez, Jake and Eli Monclova, and Tate and Lani Crawford. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Alice Garcia of Garland. Funeral Services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, in Williams Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Williams Funeral Directors.
Winona McDowell
Services for Winona McDowell, 76, of Shallowater, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct 27 in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel, with Pastor Johnny Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
Winona passed away on Oct. 24th in Shallowater.
She was born on Jan 6, 1931 in Pumphrey, TX and married
Dorman McDowell in Levelland on July 9, 1947. Mr. McDowell passed away on Feb. 4, 2002.
Winona was a member of the Keeper of the Flame Church and was a cake decorator with Sparkman's Pastries.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael O'dell McDowell; and 5 brothers, Earl, Charles, Deward, Joe Junior, and Virgil Awalt.
Survivors include two daughters: Carolyn and husband Lanny Eubanks of Lubbock, Barbara and husband David Edwards of Shallowater; one brother, Davlin Awalt of Midland, two sisters: Alta Kornegay of Brownfield, Loretta Gravel of San Angelo; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 6:30-8 p.m.
Charles Edward Ratcliff, IV
Charles Edward Ratcliff, IV passed away on Oct. 12, 2007. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at Celebration Fellowship in Fort Worth. Chuck Ratcliff, a resident of Arlington, Texas was born in Little Rock, Ark. on Aug. 17, 1949. He grew up in Lubbock, where he graduated from Monterey High School in 1967. After high school, Chuck joined the United States Navy, where he served as a sonar technician aboard the USS Leahy. Chuck went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Texas Tech University and worked as a civil engineer in both the petrochemical and food industries. Chuck enjoyed bass fishing (where "the big one" was always just one cast away), going to the car races (occasionally reenacting his own), and watching Texas Tech football (well, most of the time). He will be remembered best for his keen intelligence, quick wit, and great sense of humor. He is survived by his daughter, Rachel Womack and husband Adam of Irving; mother, Mary Ratcliff of Houston; sisters, Martha Peek of Houston, and Kay Cunningham and husband Craig of Arlington; and many nieces and nephews. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a favorite charity, or to Celebration Fellowship, 1140 Morrison Drive, Fort Worth, Texas 76120.
Terry Wayne Beckham
Services for Terry Wayne Beckham, 74, of Ralls will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at the Ralls First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Carson officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Terry passed away on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at the Ralls Nursing Home. He was born July 6, 1933, in Sulphur Springs, to the late Clyde and Mary (Reed) Beckham. On Aug. 30, 1956, he married
Ethel Marie Goss, in Plainview. She preceded him in death on Sept. 4, 1996.
Terry was a member of the Ralls First Baptist Church and the Baptist Brotherhood. He attended South Plains College and worked for Pioneer Natural Gas and Energas. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Ronda Larie Beckham, who died on Oct. 20, 1975.
Survivors include a son, Randy Beckham of Ralls; two stepsons, John Beckham of Weatherford and Jack Beckham, Jr. of Lubbock; a sister, Mary Allen of Plainview; and two grandchildren, Daniel and Kelly Beckham.
Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. today at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.
