Mr. Bobby Cook
Mr. Bobby Cook, 69, of Tahoka passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007. He was born March 5, 1938 to E.A. Cook and Audine (Jordan) Cook. Bobby graduated from Tahoka High School. He was a life long resident of Tahoka. He married
Barbara Jones in Tahoka, March 2, 1963. She preceded him in death, June 23, 1997. Mr. Cook was a farmer and also owned and operated Cook Pump Service and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tahoka.
Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Danny Cook and wife Marla of Slaton; David Cook and wife Lisa of Tahoka; one daughter, Kathy Long of Tahoka; five grandchildren, Kayla Long, Braden Cook, Riley Cook, Connor Cook, and Lainee Cook; two brothers, Lynn Cook of Tahoka, A.G. Cook of Logan, NM; one sister, Reba Ragsdale of College Station.
Bobby was preceded in death by his granddaughter Kelsi Cook in 2001.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Tahoka with Rev. Richard Harbison officiating. Interment will be in Nevels Memorial cemetery.

Jerry Don Everitt
Funeral services for Jerry Don Everitt, 59, of Levelland will be 10 am, Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007 at Second Baptist Church, Levelland with Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor and Rev. Ronnie White, pastor, First Baptist Church, Cross Plains, Texas. Burial will be in City of Levelland cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland, Texas. He died Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 at Covenant Hospital, Levelland, Texas.
Born on Nov. 10, 1947 to Duward and Mary Lou Everitt, he moved back to Levelland in August of 2007 from Denver City, Texas. He graduated from Levelland High School in 1966 and attended South Plains College. He married
Lawanna Green on Aug. 15, 1969 in Levelland. He was a farmer in the Denver City area for a number of years. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, Levelland, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Lawanna Everitt of Levelland, Texas; two sons, Mark Allen Everitt and his wife, Jennifer of Albany, Texas and John David Everitt and his wife, Quana of Shallowater, Texas; a daughter, Leanna Fortner and her husband, Jason of Whiteface, Texas; three sisters, Kay Riley and Dixie Price, both of Levelland and Shirley Everitt of Lubbock, Texas, and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007.
Ina Joyce Jones
Ina Joyce Jones, 83, of Lubbock passed away Oct. 22, 2007. She was born on April 21, 1924 in Dequeen, Arkansas to James T. Gentry and Priscilla Severson Gentry. She married
Samuel Cedric Jones on Jan. 5, 1942. She was a homemaker, and she and Samuel had eight children. Samuel preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 1990.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the P.T.A. from 1957-1958 and of the Senior Citizens qui Hing club. Along with her sister Lola King, she was a member of Coffee Talk in Anahue, Texas. She was a member of the Plainview Church of Christ for many years and of the National Congress of Parents and Teachers.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four sons, all of Lubbock: Sam Jones and his wife Bess, Darrel Jones and his wife Nancy, Donnie Jones and his wife Shirley, and Tim Jones and his wife Ino; her four daughters: Pat Holmes and her husband Bill, of Lubbock, Sue Young and her husband Leonard, of Huntington, West Virginia, Cindy RiGoni and her husband Thomas of Slaton, and Debbie Woodul and her husband Gary, of Lamesa; her 14 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will greet friends from 6 -8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007 at White Funeral Home in Lubbock.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at White Memorial Chapel in Lubbock with Pastor Garland Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens cemetery in Woodrow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Society.

Jeanette Lester
Jeanette Lester, 61 of Lubbock, Texas went home to be with her Lord Monday, Oct. 22, 2007. Services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25th, at Bethany Baptist Church in Lubbock. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
Jeanette was born April 17, 1946, in Bryan, Texas to R.L. and Marguerite Laxson. She graduated from Lubbock High School in 1964 and later attended Draughn Business School. Jeanette loved her life and impacted each and every person she met in a very special way; whether it was a co-worker at Agnew Associates, or Hobby Lobby, or her next door neighbor, everyone was considered family to Jeanette. Jeanette's life was her children, Tiger and Melissa, and all their great accomplishments. Aunt Nette loved her nieces and nephews, always attending their soccer and t-ball games as their # 1 fan. In Jeanette's spare time, she enjoyed making afghans for each family member and playing tug-of-war with her chihuahua Sassie. Jeanette will always be remembered for the joy and happiness she brought to our lives.
She is survived by her son Tiger and wife Lindsay Lester of Lubbock, Texas; daughter Melissa Lester of Plano, Texas; brother Robert Laxson of Lubbock; sister Wanda Balle of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and sister Doris and husband Jerry Force of Wichita Falls, Texas. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Jeanette will be remembered for her true dedication to the Lord. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Bethany Baptist Church or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Kelley Gertrude Lowe
Services for Kelley Gertrude Lowe of Brownfield will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007 at Brownfield Church of Christ with Bob Reynolds and Derek McNamara officiating. Interment will be in Terry County cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Gertrude passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 in Brownfield. She was born in Howard County, Arkansas to Samuel Luther and Myrtle Josephine Womack. She graduated from Nashville Arkansas High School in 1934. She then attended Watsons Business College in Nashville. She moved to Brownfield in 1940. She married
R. N. "Whitey" Lowe Feb. 16, 1950 in Clovis, NM. He preceded her in death June 14, 1987. Gertrude was instrumental in the building of the Terry County Veterans Memorial. Gertrude had been the Terry County Democratic Chairman, Past President of the Terry County American Legion Auxillary and had served for over 10 years as a Pink Lady at Brownfield Regional Hospital. She also worked for 15 years at Ross Irrigation and Western Pump Company. She was a member of Brownfield Church of Christ. Pallbearers will be Harvey Cottrell, Jerry Johnson, Jerry Jones, Randy Allison, Billy Womack Jones and Lee Miller.
She is survived by two sisters, Sue Ballard and Jo Jennings, both of Brownfield; nieces and nephews, Kelley Jennings of Lubbock, Oran and Hatti Elmore of Abilene, Marcene Lowe of Plains, Toni Wirth of Dallas Sue Cottrell of Brownfield, Susie Hulen of Tyler, Billy Womack Jones of Texarkana and Mary Margaret Mahler of Seagraves.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Brownfield Church of Christ Building Fund.
James Edward Vannoy
James Edward Vannoy, 83, passed away Oct. 24. Services will be 10am Saturday Oct. 27 at Greenlawn Church of Christ under the direction of Agape Funeral Chapel. Family will receive friends from 3 to 5pm today at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Cindy; 2 sons, Jimmy and wife Ann of Jacksonville, Ark., Larry and wife Julie of Shoreline, Wash.; daughter Vickie Evan and husband Charles of Abernathy; brother, CJ, of Whitesboro, TX; 2 sisters, Betty Gaddie and husband Grady of Whitesboro, TX, Jeanie Cheatham and husband Jerry of Denton, TX. He also leaves several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Goalsby Jackson Norris
Funeral services for Goalsby Jackson Norris, 84, of Sundown, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, in the George Price Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Willard Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Sundown cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home. He died in League City, Texas on Oct. 23, 2007.
He was born in Cook County, Texas on Oct. 28, 1922, to Jackson and Maude Norris, served in the Army during World War II, and until retirement, worked as an oilfield pumper for Amoco. He married
Vada Mildred Yett in Whitesboro, Texas on Mar. 27, 1948. She preceded him in death Feb. 7, 1995.
He is survived by two daughters, Sherry Fisher and husband Robert of Alvin and Lisa Norris of Hunt; a brother, J. F. Norris, Jr. and wife Oleta of Denton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to Summer Dreams, P. O. 788, Hunt, Texas.
Jennie Kate Brazil Irons
Jennie Kate Brazil Irons was born in Quanah, Mar. 11, 1914, to John Thomas Brazil and Maud Hailey Brazil. She died at age 93, in Big Spring, on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, after living life to the fullest.
Kate grew up in Goodlet and Quanah, Texas where she was an outstanding athlete and all around popular girl. She married
Jack Irons, in 1943. Kate and Jack moved to Big Spring, in 1946, when he came to manage the West Texas Cotton Compress and Warehouse Company, on the North Side. She was active in and contributed to numerous agencies and organizations in the community over many, many years, being ultimately named in 1996 as the Big Spring Chamber of Commerce, "Woman of the Year". Kate was an avid and accomplished bridge player, a loyal friend, wonderful Mother and Grandmother. "Granny Kate" was loved, admired and respected by all who knew her. She was modest to a fault, friend to everyone she met and always had a new joke or funny experience to share. She had fun, with class, and saw to it that those around her did too.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Irons in 1990; two brothers, Jack Brazil and Dick Brazil; one sister, Ruth Brazil Jones; and a daughter-in-law, Mozelle Groebl Irons.
She is survived by her three sons, Jack Ed Irons and wife Marilyn, Dick Irons and wife Cathy, Mike Irons and wife Shari; ten grandchildren, Craig Irons and wife Lauren, Lindsey Irons, Michelle Rawlings, Coye Irons and wife Amy, Grant Irons and wife Brittany, Hailey Irons Newlin and husband Ryan, Kate Irons, Abbye Irons, Erin Kendrick, and Charles Anderson; and six great grandchildren, Will, Caroline, Jackson, Tanner, Olivia and Georgia Irons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, in the Garden of Memories cemetery, Paducah. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church in Big Spring.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marguerite Schwarzenbach, Winnie Patterson, Barbara Gage, Ruth Nicholson, Emma Jean Johnson Hall, Cliffa Slate, Marj Carpenter, Jimmie Lou Drake, Myra Robinson, and the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Duplicate Bridge Clubs.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 701 Runnels Street, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
