PLAINVIEW - Services for Dorothy McSwain, 85, of Dallas will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Max Browning, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday under direction of Lemons Funeral Home.
She died Feb. 22, 1999, in Walnut Place in Dallas.
She was born July 10, 1913, in Kansas City, Mo. She married
Chester E. McSwain on Nov. 1, 1933, in Albuquerque. He died in 1985. She graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma College. She moved to Plainview in 1935 and taught school. She owned the Granada Gift Shop. She moved to Dallas from San Diego, Calif., in November 1997.
She was past president of the Girl Scout Board, and she established the Girl Scout Program in Plainview. She was a member of the Junior Service League, Daughters of the American Revolution, Plainview Country Club and Plainview cemetery Association. She was a seamstress and cook. She was a Methodist. She married
Chester E. McSwain on Nov. 1, 1933, in Albuquerque. He died in 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Franklin of San Diego; a son, S. Richard of Dallas; two brothers, Earnest Gentry of Plainview and Jim Gentry of Mount Pleasant; a sister, Margaret Golden of Delta, Utah; four grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the parlor of First United Methodist Church from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Edwin Adams
DALLAS - Graveside services for Edwin Bernard Adams, 91, of Lubbock, will be 3 p.m. today in Laurel Land cemetery in Dallas with Robert Ross, great nephew of the deceased, officiating.
Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.
Adams died Saturday, February 20, 1999, in University Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born on April 15, 1907, in Alba. He married
Mary Elizabeth Stokley. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son; Richard Adams of Lubbock; a daughter, Artie Fay Pugh of San Antonio; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Mary Ann Thomson
LITTLEFIELD - Services for Mary Ann Thomson, 86, of Littlefield will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Littlefield with the Rev. George C. Price Jr., pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Park under direction of Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield.
She died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at Lamb Healthcare Center in Littlefield.
She was born June 13, 1912, in Eric, Okla. She married
Joel F. Thomson on Oct. 8, 1927, in Childress. She had lived in Lamb County for 63 years. She had lived in Littlefield for 27 of those years. She worked with the Girl Scouts and also worked as a sales clerk for eight years at Findleys Jewelry in Littlefield.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Littlefield and was a member of United Methodist Women of that church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joelene McNeese, in November 1996.
Survivors include her husband, Joel F. Thomson of Littlefield; three daughters, Joann Bales of Breckenridge, Betty Sue Faulkner of Farmington, N.M., and Gloria Jackson of Littlefield; a sister, Modemia Teal of Roswell, N.M.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Elster McLeod
LOCKNEY - Services for Elster A. McLeod, 97, of Lockney will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. H.S. Calahan Jr. of Abilene officiating. The Rev. Harold Abney, pastor, will assist.
Burial will be in Lockney cemetery under direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.
McLeod died Friday, March 5, 1999, in Mangold Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 10, 1901, in Collin County. He attended Collin County schools. He married
Myriam Calahan on Feb. 2, 1924, in Collin County. She died July 4, 1967. He moved to Floyd County from Collin County in 1924. He married
Helen Floyd in June 1975. She died March 19, 1993. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer. A son, Derrel, died Dec. 6, 1936.
Survivors include a daughter, Wynona Quebe of Lockney; a grandson; two granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.
Edith Abston
SLATON - Services for Edith Abston, 74, of Slaton will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Englunds Funeral Service Chapel with Tommy Hicks, minister of Southside Church of Christ in Lubbock, officiating.
Burial will be in Englewood cemetery.
She died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999.
She was born Aug. 27, 1924, in Swenson. She graduated from Peacock High School and moved to Lubbock in 1946. She lived in Levelland until 1974, and she worked at B&M; Trim and Glass as an upholstery seamstress until her retirement in 1993. She moved to Slaton in 1993. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Rick of Slaton; a brother, William Rice "Trigger" Trammel of Aspermont; and two grandsons.

Stanley Peterson
Stanley R. Peterson, 86, of Lubbock died Friday, March 5, 1999.
He was born Oct. 20, 1912, in Bristol, Ill. He was a farmer, a plumber, an electrician and a school bus driver for Oswego schools in Oswego, Ill. He sold and repaired televisions.
Survivors include his wife, Bettye; two daughters, Ginny Lawler of Lubbock and Vicki Gonzalez of Largo, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

Harold Gopie
Services for Harold Lakichand Gopie, 53, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. S.E. Fields officiating.
Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens cemetery in Woodrow under direction of Ossie Curry Funeral Home.
Gopie died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.
He was born Sept. 18, 1945, in Trinidad, West Indies. He married
Alma L. Hamilton on Oct. 12, 1974, in Lubbock. He graduated from Texas Tech. He worked at Methodist Hospital as a supervisor in the MIS Department. He prepared taxes and was a bookkeeper. He was a member of St. John's Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Adrienne Gopie of Lubbock; four brothers, Samalal, Bass and Poolool, all of Trinidad, and Chris of New York; and four sisters, Girly of Canada and Kalohauti, Duramaday and Sahadaya, all of Trinidad; and a grandson.
Michael Guillot
Services for Michael L. "Toby" Guillot, 39, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Friday in W.W. Rix Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Marcum officiating.

Guillot died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, in Dallas.
He was born in Lubbock. He graduated from Phillips High School in 1978. He was a brake and alignment specialist.

Harlton Vaughn
TULIA - Graveside services for Harlton Lester "Bud" Vaughn, 79, of Tulia will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Don Hill, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be under direction of Wallace Funeral Home.
Vaughn died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, in Swisher Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 30, 1919, in Memphis. He married
Ruby Belle Nolen in 1943, in Hollis, Okla. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He attended school in Lakeview. He worked for American Zinc Co. in Dumas for 17 years. He was a bricklayer for several years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and he received four Bronze Stars and a Silver Star. He moved to Tulia in 1985 from Grand Prairie.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Barbara Barnes of Rockwood, Tenn., Linda Smith of Portland, Ore., and Laveta Hankins of Amarillo; two sisters, Lizzie Mae Strigley of Copperas Cove and Maxine Hayden of Mineral Wells; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Angelita Garcia
TULIA - Prayer services for Angelita Soto Garcia, 67, of Tulia will be at 7 p.m. today in Wallace Funeral Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Church of the Holy Spirit with the Rev. John Salazar-Jimenez, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.
She died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 2, 1931, in Coolidge. She married
Joe Garcia Sr. on Sept. 25, 1948, in Waco. He died Feb. 20, 1985. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit. She worked for Tulia Junior High and High School in food service for 15 years. She moved to Tulia from Waco in 1962. She was a member of the Guadalupanas and Church of the Holy Spirit.
Survivors include two daughters, Hope Trevino of Tulia and Sylvia Sanchez of Plainview; five sons, Tony Garcia of Albuquerque, Richard Garcia of Waco, Joe Garcia of Kyle, Jimmy Garcia of Bruceton, Tenn., and Alfonso Garcia of Lubbock; five sisters, Patricia Jimenez and Maria Luisa Oasem, both of Dallas, Betty Garcia and Libriada Silva, both of Waco, and Maria Flores of Waco; two brothers, Isac Sifuentez of Fort Worth and Francisco Belmarez of Dallas; 17 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Bernice Moore
Services for Bernice Moore, 70, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mel Swoyer, pastor of the Shepherd King Lutheran Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery under direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
She died March 12, 1999, at her home in Lubbock.
She was born July 28, 1928, in Slaton. She married
Robert Moore, a Lubbock pediatrician and allergist, on Dec. 27, 1952, in Port Arthur. She attended school in Morgan and graduated from Wilson public school.
She completed the bachelor's degree in home economics at Texas Tech University in 1950 and pursued graduate studies in education. She taught school at Roscoe Wilson Elementary School and Linthicium Elementary in Maryland, served as a medical office manager, practiced interior design and was an active community leader and volunteer.
She served as national president of the Associates to the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology; national president of the Auxiliary of the American College of Allergy and Immunology; president of the Lubbock, Crosby, Garza Medical Auxiliary; president of the Church Women United in Lubbock and Alumnae president and house corporation president for Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity.
She served on the national Asthma and Allergy Foundation Board, Lubbock Council of Churches, and the Texas Tech College of Human Sciences Dean's Advisory Council. She was vice president of the Texas Council of United Church Women. She was an active member of the Friends of the Texas Tech University Library, the Southwest Collection, ARCS, West Texas Museum Association and Women's Council, Junior League of Lubbock, and the Shepherd King Lutheran Church Council.
She was involved in the recruitment of faculty and the founding of the Department of Pediatrics in the Texas Tech School of Medicine and support for cultural and civic activities to enhance Lubbock such as United Way, the Lubbock Arts Festival, and the Museum of Texas Tech University. She shared a love for art and books and was a devoted and enthusiastic wife, mother, grandmother, and volunteer.
Survivors include her husband; her mother, Alma Neugebauer of Lubbock; two daughters, Renee Cox of Dallas, and Lori Ely of Dallas; a brother, Douglas Neugebauer of Slaton; five grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.
The family suggests memorials to Shepherd King Lutheran Church Building Fund and the Dr. Robert and Bernice Neugebauer Moore Scholarship, College of Human Sciences, Texas Tech University, Lubbock 79409-1162.
The family will receive friends at home after the service.
