Margaret Allen
Margaret Allen passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at her residence, in Midland.
She was born to the late Everett and Vertie Townsend on Nov. 21, 1924, in Konawa, Okla., where she was raised and educated.
Margaret met and later married
the late Claud Allen on May 24, 1942. She was a homemaker most of her life and lived in Lubbock for many years before moving to Midland to be with her son.
She enjoyed collecting ceramic chickens and loved being around family and friends. Everyone she touched or knew her, loved her.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Allen; a daughter, Carol Heard; three brothers, Roy, Lon and Bill Townsend; and two sisters, Edith Green Lee and Emma McCracken.
She leaves behind her son, Harold Allen and wife Peggy of Midland; her daughter, P.K. Harmon and husband Kelly of Flower Mound; two brothers, Gene Townsend of Lindsey, Okla. and Benton Townsend of Oklahoma City, Okla.; grandchildren, Cody Heard, Whitney Allen, Jeremy Harmon, Brandy Allen, Sammi Heard, Heather Davies and Taffy Harmon; and great grandchildren, Tehya Davis, Alexandrea Allen, Brayden Allen, Summerlin Heard, Braxton Heard, Dalton Heard and Luke Davies.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at Vista cemetery in Konawa, Okla., with Reverend Danny Daniels officiating.
Services are under the direction of Pipkin Funeral Home.
W.S. Moncrief
Services for W.S. "Bill" Moncrief, 88, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Harry E. Allen officiating.
Burial will be in City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
He died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at the Lutheran Home of Lubbock.
He was born Feb. 11, 1911 in Lawton, Okla. He married
Willie Clyde West on May 3, 1947, in Lubbock. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked as the parts manager for Time Motor Freight. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his wife; and a niece, Jane Strong of Lubbock.
The family suggests memorials to Alzheimer's Association, 3601 Fourth St., Lubbock, 79430.
Fay Embry
LEVELLAND - Graveside services for Fay Embry, 98, of Levelland will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lawnhaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Arlano Funderburk officiating.
Burial is under the direction of Geo. C. Price Funeral Directors.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1999, at Levelland Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 22, 1901, in Bell County. She had lived in Levelland since 1991. She was a homemaker and a Christian Scientist.
Survivors include a daughter, Billie Jo Strebeck; a sister; and six grandchildren.
Donald Martin
MATADOR - Services for the Rev. Donald B. Martin, 63, of Sylmar, Calif., will be at 2 p.m. today at Assembly of God Youth Camp.
Burial will be in Flomont cemetery under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home.
He died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, in Van Nuys, Calif.
He was born June 20, 1936, in Matador. He attended Matador schools. He married
Mary Underwood on July 27, 1957, in Roaring Springs. He had been an Assembly of God Evangelist since 1969. He had also worked at churches in Olton, Lorenzo, Sunray, Jonescreek and Marion, Ind.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Don of Alexandria, Va.; two daughters, Laurie Maxwell of Middleton, Fla., and Deanna Garza of Houston; two sisters, Almeda Trapini of San Angelo and Jeanie Howle of Odessa; a brother, Joe of Wolfforth; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Ruth Eaton
SNYDER - Services for Ruth Gist Eaton, 96, of Snyder will be at 2 p.m. today at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marty Akins officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
She died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 18, 1903, in Zephyr. She married
Joe Everet Eaton on Nov. 3, 1923, in Zephyr. He died Dec. 17, 1986. She was a housewife and was a Baptist. She moved to Snyder in 1928.
Survivors include a son, Joe of Lubbock; a daughter, Pat Rutherford of Fort Worth; a sister, Mary Harper of Amarillo; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
W.O. Lockwood
LORENZO - Services for William "W.O." Lockwood, 85, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.m. today at Lorenzo First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Boles officiating.
Burial will be in Ralls cemetery under the direction Adams Funeral Home.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at his home.
He was born June 9, 1914, in Crosby County. He married
Marcia Wheeler on Feb. 28, 1940, in Crosby County. He attended schools in Ralls and graduated from Lubbock High School. He was a farmer stockman and retired at 81. He was a pilot. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 1144. He worked with Boys Scouts and served as chairman of the Comanche Trail District.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert of Lorenzo and David of Temple; two daughters, Martha Ann Lockwood of Fort Worth and Jane Bryant of Plainview; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
