LITTLEFIELD - Services for Martha Sue Shaw, 82, of Littlefield will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Stewart officiating.
Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Park under the direction of Hammons Funeral Home.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at her home.
She was born Dec. 28, 1916, in White Wright. She married
T. G. Shaw Jr. on Jan. 14, 1939, in Clovis, N.M. He died Dec. 1, 1990. She worked as a bookkeeper for J.C. Penney Company Store in Littlefield for more than 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Littlefield. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Brenda Sue, in 1951.
Survivors include two sons, Ed of Fort Collins, Colo., and James of Spring; a brother, James Lindsey of Cedar Park; and four grandchildren.
Patricia Vickers
Private services for Patricia Selby Vickers, 76, of Lubbock were Thursday at Sanders Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Peeples and the Rev. Dale Hobbs officiating.
Burial was in the City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at Covenant-Lakeside Medical Center.
She was born June 2, 1923, in Little Rock, Ark., She graduated from Lubbock High School. She received her bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from Texas Tech. She taught music for the Lubbock ISD in the early 1950s. She was a founding faculty member at Lubbock Christian College in 1957 and after obtaining her doctorate's degree taught English and Spanish at Lubbock Christian University before retiring in 1993 when she became professor emeritus of English. She married
James Vickers on Sept. 6, 1941, in Lubbock. She was a member of the Sunrise Church of Christ, Eta Rho Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, Altrusa International, Women's Council of the Museum of Texas Tech University Association.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Molly Vickers Howard of Nashville, Tenn., and Rebecca J. Vickers of Lubbock; a brother, H. E. Selby of Little Rock, Ark.; and two grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Lubbock Christian University Library.
J.C. Fort
HOBBS, N.M. - Services for J.C. "Jake" Fort, 86, of Hobbs will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Mathis officiating.
Burial will be in Lovington cemetery under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
He died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at his home.
He was born April 20, 1913, in Lovington, N.M. He married
Billie Hitt on July 6, 1946, in Lovington. He was a veteran of World War II. He was sheriff of Lea County from November 1960 to December 1964. He was a member of the Lion's Club and the Sheriff's Association.
Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. today.
The family suggests memorials to Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame, 5317 Lovington Highway, Hobbs; or to the donor's favorite charity.
Christopher Dickson
Services for Christopher Frank "C.F." Dickson, 77, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Slide Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Berry officiating.
Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens cemetery under the direction of Chapel of Angels Funeral Home.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center.
He was born April 30, 1922, in Lorenzo. He married
Tinnie Bell Lord on Jan. 22, 1946, in Athens, Ga. She died July 11, 1998. He moved to Lubbock in 1946. He was a Methodist. He was a foreman checker at Furrs Warehouse for 29 years. He was chief steward for Teamsters Union, Local 577 of Lubbock. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received six medals.
Survivors include three sons, Jim of Shallowater, Tommy of Tahoka and Terry of Lubbock; two daughters, Belinda McClesky of Woodrow and Tina Sue Kidd Addkinson of Roanoke; a sister, Freda Elkins of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Wanda Zertuche
DURANT, Okla. - Graveside services for Wanda L. "Burk" Zertuche, 28, of Durant will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hugh Low cemetery with the Rev. William Airington officiating.
Burial is under the direction of Chaney Funeral Home.
She died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas.
She was born Sept. 19, 1971, in Lubbock. She attended Friendship High School. She moved to Durant in 1995 and attended Kiamichi Vo-Tech. She was a physical therapist and a home health aide for Red River Health Care System. She was Pentecostal.
Survivors include three sons, Daniel of Lubbock, and Dustin and Dakota Burk, both of Durant; her mother, Shirley A. Burk of McAlester, Okla.; two brothers, Jerry Burk of Durant and Jesse Burk of McAlester; and her grandparents, J.L. Hampton of McAlester, Sam Burk of Lubbock and Wanda Burk of Lubbock.

Sydnie Bell

She died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
She was born Dec. 3, 1949, in Southland. She attended schools in Guthrie and Spur. She attended McMurry College. She worked for the Texas Dental Art Lab in Garland where she was a dental lab technician. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include a daughter, Seneca Bell of Garland; two sons, Robert and Thomas, both of Garland; a sister, Robbie Rider of Denton; a brother, Roger Green of Lubbock; and her parents, R.C. and Theatus Green of Spur.
Norma Noyes
TEXLINE - Services for Norma Carruth Noyes, 56, of Texline will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dalhart Church of Christ with Fred Selby and Sammy Flannery officiating.

She died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, in Amarillo.
She was born June 19, 1943, in Amarillo. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1961. She attended Lubbock Christian College and graduated in 1963. She received her bachelor's degree from West Texas State University in 1965. She was a secretary for Oklahoma Christian College. She married
Jim Noyes on June 4, 1965. She lived in Dalhart, Bovina and Adrian before moving to Texline in 1981. She was treasurer for the Texline EMS. She was a member of the Texline Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Al of Texline; a sister, Linda Gail Gray of Dalhart; and her mother, Elnora Carruth of Dalhart.
Fairy Blodgett
SEMINOLE - Services for Fairy Blodgett, 98, of Seminole will be at 1 p.m. today at Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel with Rukne Kawja officiating.
Burial will follow in Gaines County cemetery under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Homes.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, in Lubbock.
She was born Nov. 18, 1900, in Marysville. She moved to Seminole in 1915. She married
W.L. Blodgett. He died in 1951. She was a teacher. She was preceded in death by her first husband and a child.
Survivors include a sister, Vera White of Seminole.
