BROWNFIELD - Services for Carl "Pete" Golden, 92, of Brownfield will be at 2 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Pat Riley officiating.
Burial will be in Terry County Memorial cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, in Brownfield.
He was born July 1, 1907, in Snyder. He married
Juanita Jenkins on Jan. 21, 1934, in Snyder. She died Oct. 28, 1983. He graduated from Texas Tech with an architectural engineering degree. He moved to Wellman in 1939. He was a farmer until retirement in 1973. He was a member of the Lion's Club, a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church and served as a trustee on the Wellman School Board.
Survivors include three daughters, Beth Hawkins of Brownfield, Janie Bennett of Las Cruces, N.M., and Linda Adamison of Ruidoso, N.M.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Giles Smith
SLATON - Services for Giles Smith, 57, of Slaton will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Cleve Kerby officiating.
Burial will be in Englewood cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service.
He died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, in University Medical Center.
He was born July 15, 1942, in Slaton. He graduated from Slaton High School in 1960 and attended Texas Tech for two years. He was a farmer in Slaton and Wilcox, Ariz. He lived in Dallas and Amarillo before moving to Slaton in 1997. He married
Kaye Kincer Smith on March 18, 1995, in Richardson. He worked for Smith South Plains Ford.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mark of Carrollton and David of Dallas; two stepdaughters, Annette Sykora of Ransom Canyon and Susan Tant of Plainview; two brothers, Larry of Slaton and Don of Plano; and nine grandchildren.

France Powell
FLOYDADA - Services for France Elizabeth Powell, 77, of Floydada will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Doyle Cordor officiating.
Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park under the direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.
She died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, in Albuquerque, N.M.
She was born Dec. 7, 1921, in Crosby County. She attended schools in Crosby County. She married
Parnell Powell on Dec. 18, 1937. He died June 30, 1990. They owned and operated Powell's Grocery. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth M. Powell, on June 11, 1948.
Survivors include two sons, Arlis of Albuquerqe and Jerry of Houston; a daughter, Melody Swearingen of Plainview; a brother, Kenneth Rogers of Yoakum; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Lily Hapke
LOVINGTON, N.M. - Services for Lily C. "Carolyn" Hapke, 60, of Las Cruces, N.M., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at 3rd and Central Street Church of Christ with Dan Morris officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery under the direction of Smith-Rogers Funeral Home.
She died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces.
She was born Feb. 8, 1939, in Hobbs, N.M. She married
Dick Hapke. He preceded her in death. She was a secretary for the Democratic Party of New Mexico and was on the staff for Congressman Harold Runnels.
Survivors include a son, Brake of Las Cruces; and two sisters, Betty Norris of Wichita Falls and Janie Butts of Little Rock, Ark.
Rex Howell
LOVINGTON, N.M. - Services for Rex Howell, 37, of Lovington will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethany Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Lovington cemetery under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home.
He died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, in Lovington.
He was born April 29, 1962, in Tucumcari, N.M. He graduated from Roswell Welding School. He worked for McVey Drilling Company.
Survivors include two daughters, Tabatha Sandoval of Arlington and Toni McKinney of Lovington; a brother, Carl Howell of Lovington; a sister, Janet Tillman of Lovington; and two grandsons.
Bernice Warren
DEER PARK - Services for Bernice "Gaggie" Warren, 90, of Deer Park will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lemons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Hackett officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home.
She died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999.
She was born July 26, 1909, in Hill County. She married
Marvin T. Warren on March 14, 1935, in Haskell. He died June 9, 1985. She was a member of 9th and Columbia Church of Christ. She had been living in Deer Park for the last 10 years.
Survivors include three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Malcom Limbaugh
Services for Malcom "Mike" Limbaugh, 71, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sanders Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robbie Krajca.
Burial will be in the City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
He died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center.
He was born May 24, 1928, in Athens. He served in the U.S. Army and had been a resident of Lubbock since 1950. He was a retired automobile mechanic. He was preceded in death by a son, Malcom S. Limbaugh Jr.
Survivors include seven daughters, Dale Ann Gilbert, Joan Allsup and Vickie Lynn Limbaugh, all of Eastland, Carylon Jean Cunningham, Angela Renea Limbaugh, and Shonda Mowery, all of Lubbock and Mikena Jean Limbaugh of Kentucky; a stepdaughter, Tammy Lois Minyard of Lubbock; a brother, Billy of Fort Worth; three sisters, Sideny Morris, Imogene Cowsert and Patsy Puryear, all of Lubbock; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
Holland Lawrence
IDALOU - Services for Holland Wayne "H.W." Lawrence, 92, of Idalou will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Idalou Church of Christ with Lawrence Ward officiating.

He died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at his home.
He was born Oct. 23, 1906, in Hood County. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1922. He married
Virgie Alta Dawdy on Nov. 25, 1932, in Clovis, N.M. She died Feb. 17, 1993. He moved to Idalou from Ralls in 1970. He was a farmer and a member of the Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Lorenzo Church of Christ.
Survivors include two nephews and two nieces.
