Robert "Bob" Wilson
October 23rd, 1936 - February 6th, 2008
Bob was born on October 23, 1936 to Fred and Maurine Wilson of Meadow. Following graduation from Meadow High School in 1954, he owned and operated community businesses. Later Bob served as Director of Public Works in Meadow for several years. In 1966, he moved to Seminole to serve as Director of Public Works. Bob married
Jean Woodruff on July 3, 1970. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole, and a former member of the Seminole Lions Club. Mr. Wilson served on various boards and committees in association with Public Works. Following retirement, Bob and Jean moved to Lubbock.
Survivors include his wife, Jean of 38 years; daughter, Robbie Moore, spouse, Jay of Lubbock; son, James Wilson of White Settlement, TX; step-daughter, Debbie Fair and spouse, William of Lubbock; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Maurine Wilson; and his son, Fred Wilson on October 6, 2007.
Jimmie "Lu" Fowler Doidge
February 19th, 1912 - February 2nd, 2008
Jimmie “Lu” Fowler Doidge, owner of Lu’s Women’s Apparel for 36 years, passed on to join her family in Heaven on Saturday, February 2, 2008. Jimmie Chambers was born on February 19, 1912 in Estacado, Texas.
Survivors include two daughter-in-laws, Lu Ann Fowler Bishop, Judy Fowler; five grandchildren, Danny Fowler and spouse, Brenda; Galen Fowler and spouse, Lorie; Stephen Fowler; Cindy Reynolds and spouse, John; and Terry Bob Fowler and spouse, Donna. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husband, Buddy Fowler in 1961 and second husband, H. A. Doidge in 1976; sons, J. W. Fowler in 1989 and Bobby Fowler in 1998 and five brothers.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Rosie Harper for the kind and loving care for the past five years.
James Brent McPhail
March 5th, 1955 - January 31st, 2008\
He was born to James Paul and Evelyn Janel (Culvahouse) McPhail on March 5, 1955 in Hobart, Oklahoma. He graduated from Monterey High School. Brent married
Debbie Bryant on June 21, 1975 in Lubbock. He was an Electrical Engineer and enjoyed his time outdoors especially hunting and bow fishing. He was a member of Trinity Church.
Brent is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Chelsea McPhail and husband Ty, Joshua McPhail, Lacey McPhail and Timothy McPhail; a step-grandaughter, Kaylee; his parents and a brother Kent McPhail.
Addie Mae "Shortie" Daniels
March 15th, 1945 - January 29th, 2008
Addie Mae “Shortie” Daniels was born on March 15, 1945 in Haskell, Texas to D. H., Jr. and Reva Young Brown.
Survivors include her spouse of 46 years, Jack Daniels, two daughters, Vickie Mandrell and spouse, Cecil, Kimberly Daniels, and son, Johnny Daniels and spouse, Jodie. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Chad Mandrell and spouse, Lara; Chris Mandrell; Kellie Hamm and spouse, Chris; Meagan Daniels; Justin Schoepf and spouse, Lauren; Ronnie Lynch and one great grandson, Jeremiah Hamm; and 1 brother, D. H. Brown, Jr. and spouse, Connie.
Mitzi Barber
August 27th, 1965 - January 15th, 2008
MITZI DENESE BARBER was born August 27, 1965 in Lubbock to the late Jesse and Charlene (McKee) Brewer. She graduated from Lubbock High School and South Plains College as a Respiratory Therapist. Mitzi married
Brian Barber on April 1, 1991 in Lubbock. She worked for University Medical Center in Lubbock before moving to San Antonio in 1999. In San Antonio she worked for University Hospital and was a member of the San Antonio First Church of the Nazarene. Mitzi enjoyed reading, writing and caring for others.
Survivors include her husband, Brian and a daughter, Jordan of San Antonio, a brother, Dale Brewer and wife Tammy, a sister, Charletta Durham all of Lubbock; nephews, Cody and Todd Brewer and Dustin Barber and nieces, Summer Durham and Shaaron Barber.
Ronald Eugene "Captain Ron" Travis
January 24th, 1944 - January 12th, 2008
Ron was born to Anna and Richard Eugene Travis on January 24, 1944 in Omaha, NE. He graduated from Omaha High School in 1964 and enlisted in the United States Air Force. Ronald enjoyed the open road while driving freight to various destinations. He also was a mechanic who was employed at Modern Chevrolet and his comfort zone was tinkering with automobiles in this garage at home. He retired in November of 2005 from Commanders Palace where he served as carpenter. Ron enjoyed his quality time fishing with family and friends. He had been a long time parishioner at Christ the King Cathedral before transfering to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Rose Moreno Travis, their children, Janie Bramlet and spouse, Robert, Rose Ann Travis, Rhonda Frazier and spouse, John all of Lubbock; his grandchildren, Jacob, Shelby and Richard Bramlett; Tracie and Shoan Travis, and Katie Moreno; Mason and Kenley Frazier; a great grandchild, John Gabriel. Mr. Travis’ mother, Anna Travis and siblings Patsy Kahre –Travis and Jim Travis all of Omaha, NE also survive him. Preceeded in death by his father, Richard Eugene Travis and grandson, Kevin Scott Travis.
Thomas Martin Randall, Jr.
February 15th, 1971 - February 5th, 2010
Services for Thomas M. Randall, Jr. 38, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 in the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Little cemetery in Seminole, OK. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at the funeral home. Thomas died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 in Lubbock, Tx.
Thomas was born on Feb. 15, 1971 in Rosebud, SD to Thomas M. and Patricia (Jacob) Randall. When Thomas was two his father died and his family moved to Atoka, OK., where he grew up and graduated from high school. Thomas had worked as a Sonographer for fifteen years. He married
the love of his life and soul mate, Melissa Sellers on Jan. 1, 2006 in Shawnee, OK. In Jan. 2009, Thomas accepted a job at the Lubbock Heart Hospital and they moved to Ransom Canyon, Tx. The true joy of Thomas’ life was his children and his wife, Melissa. Thomas and Melissa spent many wonderful hours gliding across the dance floor with one another.
Those left to cherish Thomas’ memory are his wife, Melissa; children, Johnathan Randall, Kadence Randall, Bronc Randall, Blake Sellers and girl friend Katie Beth Spencer and Jackie Sellers; mother Patricia Johnson and husband Richard; brother, Everett Randall and wife Marissa; father-in-law, Bill Rogers; brothers-in-law, James Rogers and wife Carol, John Rogers and Tim Rogers and wife Tracy; sisters-in-law, Donna Cullum and Terra VanDusen; nephew, Craig Cullum and wife Lyndsi along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews all of Oklahoma and many friends and colleagues in Lubbock. Also surviving “Papa” Thomas are Keelie, Dixie and Stonie Cullum, of Oklahoma.
Thomas is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Randall, Sr. and grandparents, Owen and Emma Randall and Fulsom and Martha Jacob.

David Wayne Lancaster
August 15th, 1969 - February 3rd, 2010
David was born on August 15, 1969 to Carl Lancaster and Reba Jeanette Burks in Lubbock. On June 12, 1999, he married
Jennifer Lehman in Ralls, Texas. He was an active member of the Church on the Rock and served as an usher. David didn't know a stranger, welcomed friendships, and was generous.
David is survived by his loving spouse Jennifer; son, Karson Layne Lehman of Lubbock; brothers, James Ward and his wife, Patty of Abernathy, Jonathan Ray Lancaster of Lubbock, Jackie Lynn Lancaster of Lubbock; sisters, Rose Marie Holtkort of Brownfield, Debbie McCarver and husband, Eddie of Slaton, and Carolyn Neel and her husband, Joe of Lubbock; parents, Carl Lancaster of Amarillo, and mother, Reba Burks of Lubbock; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin and Paula Lehman of Fritch; brother-in-law, Jeremy Lehman and his wife, Misti of Waco; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David spent his life caring for others and never put himself before others. He often went out of his way to reach those who were in need.
Nancy “Randi” Cardenas
December 11th, 1975 - December 8th, 2008
Nancy "Randi" was born December 11, 1975, to Corina Castillo and Daniel Cortinas in Lubbock, Texas. Nancy attended Tubbs Elementary, O. L. Slaton and graduated from Lubbock High School with honors in 1994. She was employed with United Supermarket as a bookkeeper. Nancy attended Five Stones Fellowship, where she worshiped with her family and friends. Nancy was a devoted mother who enjoyed spending time with her two sons and step-daughter. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt.
Survivors include her two sons, Matthew Erick Cardenas and Jarek Edward Cardenas of Lubbock; step-daughter, Mikela Ann Cardenas of Lubbock; mother, Corina Puga of Lubbock; siblings, Jessica Ann Cortinas of Lubbock; Billy Ray Cortinas, spouse, Fancy of Lubbock; Angelina Nelson, spouse, Christopher of Thomasville, Alabama; two half-brothers, Daniel Cortinas and Benjamin Cortinas of Lubbock; biological father, Daniel Cortinas of Lubbock; paternal grandparent, Gloria Cortinas of Lubbock; paternal great grandparent, Margarita Mejia; (step) paternal grandparents, Ruperto Puga of Lubbock and Blanca Rodriguez of Lubbock; 5 nephews and 6 nieces; numerous uncles, aunts and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gilberto Puga, May 10, 2005.
Pat Cannon Boggus
October 11th, 1927 - December 8th, 2008
She was born on Oct 11, 1927 in Royston, Texas. She married
Davis Cannon of Hale Center, Texas March 26, 1948. They lived on their farm, raising their three daughters and he preceded her in death in 1985. She married
Garland Boggus on March 25, 1989 in Lubbock and they continued on the farm until he preceded her in death in 1999. She moved to Lubbock in 2001 where she found a church home at Melonie Park Church. She was the historian and scrapbook chairman for Pilot’s Club, a women’s service organization whose focus is fundraising for those with brain disorders.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Jean Ann and Felix Hettler of Midland, Jo Donna Tucker, and Jana Beth and Barry Johnston both of Lubbock; and a step-daughter, Kathi and Hank Foresta of LaVerne, CA. She had 11 grandchildren, Jason and Melissa Hettler, Lindsey Hettler, and Davis Jones of Lubbock, Capt. Chris Hopkins USMC, of 29Palms, CA., Meredith Hopkins of Austin, TX., Bethany and Clint Williamson of Dallas, TX., Matthew Foresta of LaVerne, CA., Robin and Jay Kemper, and Mindy and Brad Douglas of Lubbock. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Those who knew her have said that they had the wonderful experience of knowing a great, wise woman. It was stated that Pat was a great lady, a true saint and we will miss her right up until the time we see her again.

Jesse Gutierrez
December 8th, 1942 - December 4th, 2008
Family and friends will gather to celebrate almost 66 years of life for Jesse S. Gutierrez on his birthday, Monday, Dec. 8, 2008 at Lake Ridge Chapel. He died Dec. 4, 2008 with family by his side. Jesse was born on Dec. 8, 1942 in Brady, Texas to Jesus and Elena (Solis) Gutierrez. Jesse married
Cecilia Hernandez on Nov. 1, 1965 in Lubbock. After serving our country in the US Army, Jesse worked for Texas Tech University in the Preventative Maintenance department, retiring after 30 years. Jesse enjoyed traveling especially to Florida to spend time at the beach. He also enjoyed fishing and working in his workshop.
Those left to cherish Jesse’s memories is his wife, Cecilia; a son, Troy Andrew Gutierrez and a daughter, Cindy Michelle Gutierrez all of Lubbock; his mother, Elena Gutierrez, and sister, Lili Evans both of Sugarland; brother, Tony Gutierrez of Humble and many nieces and nephews.
Jesse is preceded in death by his father, Jesus Gutierrez and his younger brother, Manuel Gutierrez.
