Richard Joseph Lewis, Sr.
Richard Joseph Lewis, Sr., 68, a senior engineering technician for Rockwell Collins Electronics, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, in Dallas.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, at the graveside, Dallas/Fort Worth National cemetery, Lane A. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Richard was born May 30, 1939 in New York City to Donald K. and Anastasia Lewis. His lifeinterest and work were his family. He is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Kenneth Lewis.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Linda; children, Loretta Perkey and her husband, James, Richard Lewis and his wife, Leigh Ann, Rebecca Lewis and her husband, Miro Guzvica; grandchildren, Terri Perkey, Lauren Perkey; nieces and nephews, including Kenneth Clarke, Konnie Lutz and her husband, David and their children, Brandon and Kaitlyn; and other extended family.
J.W. Dines III
J.W. Dines III, 88, of Lubbock passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel, in Plainview, with Rev. Ken Horn, Chaplain of NursCare Hospice of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill cemetery in Tulia, under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
Mr. Dines was born on Nov. 5, 1919 in Lockney. He grew up and attended schools there. He then moved to Kress. He farmed with his father for many years and he later owned and operated a machine shop. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Plainview.
He married
Margaret Ellen Anderson on Feb. 7, 1946 in Plainview. She preceded him in death on Aug. 24, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents, J.W. Jr. and Ollie Kay Dines.
He is survived by one daughter, Jackie Graham, of Lubbock; one son, Jim Dines of Duncan, Okla.; three grandchildren, Keith Graham and Kevin Graham of Lubbock, Judy Dines of Duncan, Okla.; and a brother, Robert Bruce Dines of Kingsland, Texas.
The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Dorothy L. Collier
Dorothy Louise Collier, 79, of Lubbock, peacefully departed this life on Dec. 29, 2007 in Lubbock. She was born on June 17, 1928, in Memphis, TX to Carl W. Tullar and Gladys Follis. She moved to Lubbock in 1943. On Aug. 23, 1947, she married
Robert Collier in Lubbock. Together, they had three children.
Dorothy loved cooking and crocheting. She was an excellent seamstress and made clothes for all of her children. She worked as a telephone operator and homemaker. She was a member of the Northside Church of Christ.
Dorothy is survived by her husband; one son, Michael Lee Collier and wife Sonja of Lubbock; two daughters, Bobbie Arocha and husband Fred of Lubbock, and Deborah Lynn Beaudoin and husband Donald of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Odell Arocha, Chelsi Conklin, Swenda Collier, Danielle Beaudoin, and Dakota Beaudoin; one brother, Eddie Wayne Tullar of Forest Hill, La.; and two sisters, Margaret Higgins and Martha Jean Tullar, both of Center Point, TX.
Formal Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., today at White Funeral Home in Lubbock. Celebration of Life Services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008 at White Memorial Chapel in Lubbock, with James Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens cemetery. Mary Dominga Trejo
The recitation of the Rosary for Mary Dominga Trejo is today at 7:30 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel, 82nd and Iola Ave followed by gathering of family and friends to reminisce her fifty-one years of life. A Mass celebration is schedule for 10 a.m. the following morning at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. A private committal service will be at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers' ceremonial room prior to her cremation. Mrs. Trejo left to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Honorato "Nato", their children, Andrea Ontiveros, and spouse, Maurilio, Ernest and his dearest friend, Carmen, Amy and spouse, Jeremy, and Patrick. Her beautiful grandchildren, Monti, Emma, Ty Ontiveros, and Ethan Aquirre also survive her. Mrs. Trejo's siblings who survive her are Jessie and spouse, Betty Duran, Marcelino and spouse, Irene Duran, Mike and spouse, Paulina Duran, Carloz and spouse, Gloria Duran, Sam and spouse, Carmen, Connie Duran and spouse, Tommy Vargas, Frank and spouse, Margaret Duran, Ralph and spouse Dorothy Duran, her late brother, Pete's spouse, Lupe, and late brother, Conrad, Jr.'s spouse, Mary.
Janie Lucille Polk Taylor
Janie Lucille Polk Taylor passed peacefully from this life into eternity on Sunday, Dec. 30 at Level-land Covenant Hospital. "Mur" was born on June 30, 1910, in Wortham, to Oscar and Ellen Smith Polk. Later the family moved to Post. Mur married
L. L. "Book" Taylor on Feb. 20, 1926, in Dickens. They moved to Cochran County in 1936 where they raised four children, farmed, and served as staunch members of the Whiteface and Morton communities and Whiteface First Baptist Church. Besides helping with farm and livestock chores, Mur worked periodically at Morton retail stores and enjoyed gardening, sewing, and canning (sometimes). Her children and their offspring were her treasures, though. Mur moved to Morton after Book died in 1979, staying busy with her cof-fee-drinking buddies, hair appointments, and trips to see family. She quit driving at 92 when her car battery mysteriously disappeared. Mur was blessed with good health until the last few years of her life, but even then she retained her beauty, dignity, and sense of humor, which she needed to put up with us. Mur was met in heaven by her parents; her three sisters; her husband; her daughter, Billie Faye Minyard; and her daughter-in-law, Gaylia Taylor.
Survivors include two sons, Wade Taylor, and Floyd Taylor and his wife LuDean, all of Whiteface; a daughter, Helen Walker and her husband Wendell of Kermit; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at the George Price Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. The service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2 at Whiteface First Baptist Church, with Rev. Harold Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Morton Memorial cemetery, Morton, TX under direction of George Price Funeral Home.
LaHonda Sanders
Services for LaHonda Jo (Barr) Sanders, 87, of Lubbock and formerly of Ralls, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednes-day, Jan. 2, 2008, in the Ralls First Baptist Church, with Rev. Glenn Harlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Ralls cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Mrs. Sanders went to heaven on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007. LaHonda was a godly woman and loving mother to many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. LaHonda Jo Barr was born June 27, 1920, in Altus, Okla. to the late Carl Clenton and Rubie Mae (Shelton) Barr. Her family moved to the Robertson, TX Community near Lorenzo in 1934.
On Oct. 22, 1939, she married
Matthew Lee "M. L." Sanders, Jr., in the Robertson Community. She and her husband farmed South of Ralls for 45 years before retiring in 1983. He preceded her in death July 31, 1988.
In Ralls, LaHonda served as director for the West Texas Pioneer and Old Settlers Reunion, as a board member of the Crosby County Library and the Ralls Historical Museum and as Vice President of the Ralls Study Club. She was chairman of the Crosby County Historical Commission from 1975 to 1979. In 1978, she was honored with the District Outstanding Club Woman Award, and in 1979, the Ralls Chamber of Commerce named her Woman of the Year.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Carlene Petersen.
Survivors include a daughter, Penny Burns of Lubbock; a brother, Lewis Barr and wife Mozelle of San Antonio; 2 grandchildren, Jay Burns and wife Marybeth of Morgan Mills, and Logan Burns of Lubbock; and a great granddaughter, Harley Grace Burns of Morgan Mills.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home inRalls.
Along with her family, the love of LaHonda's life was Jesus. She was a great woman of prayer and sowed faithfully into the mission fields. Billie R. Rhea
Billie Raymond Rhea, 86, of Lubbock, passed away Dec. 28, 2007, in Lubbock. He was born June 19, 1921, in Man-gum, Okla. to Sam and Lilly Rhea. Billie, graduated from Randolph High School in 1938. He married
Bobbie Hargis in Bonham on June 29, 1946, and they moved to Lubbock in 1950. Billie worked as a plant supervisor for Borden's Milk Company in Lubbock until 1989, when he retired. He was an Elder at the Central Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Billie was preceded in death by one brother, Guy Rhea; and one sister, Irene Harper. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; daughter, Sharon Hardy and husband Gary of Houston; granddaughter, Kimberly Hardy; sister, Gereta Landers and husband T.B. of Hurst; sister-in-law, Nell Rhea of Levelland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Central Congregation at 6318 34th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79407, with Rudy Dupreez officiating. Graveside Services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Resthaven.

Sadie Baxter Mincks
Born July 3, 1912, in Fort Madison, Iowa, married
Thomas Mincks Aug. 16, 1941, and lived in Lubbock for 10 years.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 in the chapel of First Baptist Church on Broadway in Lubbock.
Sadie was a nurses' aide and a homemaker, she was preceded in death by her husband; and a daughter, Jean Hamer.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Simonich and son-in-law, Tom Simonich of Lubbock; daughter, Karen Phillips of Decatur, Ill; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Louise Gomez
Family and friends of Louise Gomez will gather at Lake Ridge Chapel, 82nd and Iola Ave., from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2. A ceremony celebrating her 89 years of life will follow the next day at 11 a.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel with a committal service in Hobbs, N.M. Mrs. Gomez died, Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007.
Darien Alexander Lee Eubank
Services for Darien Alexander Lee Eubank, infant, of Levelland, were held Monday, Dec. 31, 2007. Burial took place at the City of Levelland Cemetary under the direction of George Price Funeral Home. Our Angel Darien was called home on Dec. 28, 2007.
He is survived by his parents, Matt and Nancy Eubank of Levelland; grandparents, Sam and Nieves Lopez of Levelland, Gary and Teresa Loudermilk of Haskell, and Joe Eubank of Abilene; great-grandmother, Lavelta Eubank of Winters; 10 aunts; six uncles; and 18 cousins.
