Mary Rita Buxkemper
Rosary services for Mary R. Buxkemper; 75, of Slaton, will be 7 p.m. today in Englunds Chapel. Resurrection Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednes-day, Jan. 2, 2008, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slaton. Burial will be at Englewood cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Mrs. Buxkemper died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007. She was born May 16, 1932, in Runnels County. She attended Olfen Schools. Mary married
Leon Buxkemper on June 23, 1953, in Olfen. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by Leon on April 1, 1993; and by a daughter; Deborah Ann Buxkemper, on Dec. 29, 1957.
Her survivors include two daughters, Janice and husband Brady Tipton, and Donna Marie and husband Billy Frizzell all of Slaton; three sons, Doyle Buxkemper and wife Cindy of Lubbock, Robbie Buxkemper of Slaton, and Keith Buxkemper and wife Jan of Levelland; three brothers, Joe Hoelscher of Levelland, Andrew Hoelscher of Midkiff, and Victor Hoelscher of Olfen; three sisters, Colette Schraeder of St. Lawrence, Lorine Braden of Wall, and Genevieve Halfmann of Ballinger; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Elma Burleson
Elma Burleson, 81, of Lubbock, died Dec. 29, 2007. Ser vices will be 11 a.m. Wednes-day, Jan. 2, 2008, at First Baptist Church in New Deal. Burial will follow at Rest-haven Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
Elma was born Jan. 18, 1926, in Idalou, and graduated from Frenship High School in May of 1943. He then served in the United States Navy from Jan. of 1944 to May of 1946. Upon return, he attended Texas Tech University and then married
Wyoma Thomas on Sept. 1, 1948.
He farmed and worked at the Dean Gin for a little more than a year before moving to Gilmer, TX. After moving back to West Texas, he helped build Citizens Coop Gin, where he later returned as manager. He also managed gins in Hart Camp and Edmonson, TX.
He retired from Farmers Coop Compress in 1993.
When not working, Elma enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with the family in Colorado, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Wyoma; three sons, Steve of Lubbock, Mike of Plainview, and Greg of Aledo; a daughter, Lajuana Miller of Ovalo; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr.& Mrs. Ivy Burleson; three sisters, Luna Berry, Doris Burleson, his twin Thelma Smith; and one brother, T.I. Burleson, Jr.

Bill M. Clayton
Billie Mack Clayton of O'Donnell departed this life on Dec. 24, 2007 at the age of 86 years. He was born June 29, 1921 to Sumner M. Clayton and Julia Crie in Tahoka. Mr. Clayton attended school in O'Donnell and was a lifelong resident of Lynn County. He married
Ruby Rains on Jan. 7, 1949 in O'Donnell and she preceded him in death on Aug. 18, 1998. Billie was a farmer and a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Lubbock. He served in the United States Army Air force during WWII as Staff Sgt.
Those left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Cheryl Mascho and husband, Mark, of Chandler, OKLA.; six grandchildren, Cole Clayton, Chad Clayton, Jayce Clayton, Dana Horne, Hannah Horne, Sarah Horne; one great-grandchild, Kyndal Clayton; one daughter-in-law Tampa Clayton.
Mr. Clayton was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Lois Clayton, in 1956 and one son, Barry Clayton, in 2007.
The family will greet friends from 6 - 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, at the White Funeral Home in Tahoka.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at the White Memorial Chapel in Tahoka with Rev. Jim Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the O'Donnell cemetery.

Billie Hammock Reese
Billie Hammock Reese, 76, of Lubbock, passed away Dec. 25, 2007 in Lubbock. Funeral Services will be held Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Billie was born June 23, 1931 in House, N.M. to Arthur and Ruth (Vandiver) Evitt. She was a member of the Trowel and Error Garden Club, the Spade and Hoe Garden Club, a National Amateur Flower Judge, on the Board of Directors for the Lubbock Garden Arts Center, a National Landscape Design Critic; and an officer of the Texas State Garden Club. She founded and was the head chair for the South Plains Fair Floral Department and a designer and decorator for Emerald City Decorators. She also was a swimming instructor at the Boy's Club.
Billie is survived by her daughter, Diana Colley and husband, Dale, of Lubbock; son, Ben Hammock and wife, Donna, of Lubbock; sister, Barbara Chatwell, of Littlefield; brother, Wayne Evitt of Lafayette, Louisiana; grandson, Chris Hammock, of Lubbock; numerous nieces and nephews and her loyal friend and companion, Fancy, her dog.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 from 7 - 9 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Francine Campbell
Francine Campbell, 92, of Hobbs, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be 3 p.m. CST Friday, Dec. 28 in Trinity Memorial Park cemetery in Big Spring. The family will receive friends from 5 - 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 at the funeral home.
Francine was born on March 26, 1915 in Lindale, Texas to Roy and Lollie Bookout Cook. She married
Howard Campbell in Carlsbad, N.M. and they celebrated 44 loving years of marriage until his death in 1996. Mrs. Campbell enjoyed sewing and quilting and loved to travel. She was a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church. Her parents, her husband, a sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters, Arlene Bunch and her husband, Darrel, of Carrollton, and Lunell Barrington, of Mesquite; her sisters, Myrtle Winkler and Beatrice Crum; her brother Col. Jetty R. Cook and his wife, Wanda; four granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.
Gladys Bernice Beach
Gladys Bernice Beach of O'Donnell departed this life on Dec. 25, 2007 at the age of 93 years. She was born March 5, 1914 in Montague County to William Russell Gibson and Mildred Virginia (Garner) Gibson. Gladys graduated from O'Donnell High School and then she attended Beauty School. She was a lifelong resident of O'Donnell and Lynn County. Gladys married
Ralph Mitchel Beach in O'Donnell on Dec. 31, 1939 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1985. Mrs. Beach was a homemaker and a retired Beautician. She was a member of the O'Donnell Bridge Club. Gladys enjoyed playing cards with her friends and crocheting and needle point. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in O'Donnell.
Those left to cherish her memory are, one daughter, Paula J. Thames and husband, Robert, of Rockwall; one son, Gary M. Beach and wife, Patricia, of Lubbock; six grandchildren, Bryan and Amanda Beach, Chad and Elizabeth Thames, Andy and Jennifer Urban; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Brooke and Mason Thames.
Mrs. Beach was preceded in death by her husband; granddaughter, Leslie Beach; six brothers; and four sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at the O'Donnell cemetery in O'Donnell, with Rev. Larry Gaumond officiating.

Grace Elizabeth Collins
Funeral services for Grace Elizabeth Collins, 77, of Levelland, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at George Price Funeral Chapel, Levelland, with Elder Rickey Hatter, officiating. Burial will follow in City of Levelland cemetery, under direction of George Price Funeral Home. She died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007.
She was born on Nov. 8, 1930 in Lonoak, Ark. She married
Jack D. Collins on Dec. 23, 1946 in Clarendon, Ark.; he died April 12, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and three sisters. They moved to Levelland in 1970. She was a homemaker and a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Levelland.
Survivors include her daughter, Mabel Burnett and her husband, Larry, of Levelland; a son, Mike Collins and his wife, Mae Beth, of Levelland; her sister, Kathrine Singleton, of Arkansas; three grandchildren, Andrea Burnett, Kendra Lane, and Myka Collins.
Ida Inez Davidson Freeman
Ida Inez Davidson Freeman, 91, passed away peacefully on Dec. 21, 2007, at the home of her daughter in East Bernard. She was born near Cleveland, Okla., on Dec. 25, 1915, to Emmitt and Mabel Davidson. At the age of 6, her family was transferred to Breckenridge, where she attended Breckenridge public schools. She married
Jude Freeman on Oct. 28, 1934, in Breckenridge. They resided near Caddo, until 1946, when the family moved to Denver City. After the death of her husband and residing 57 years in Denver City, she moved to East Bernard, in late 2002 where she lived with her daughter, Judy.
She was a very active Christian in the First United Methodist Church in Denver City, and an avid reader and bridge player. She loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Australia, The Netherlands, Hawaii, London and many other places across the USA. She spent countless hours studying genealogy and researching the Davidson family tree back to the American Revolution. During the 1950's and 60's, she was employed with Denver City Independent School District and later the Mustang Furniture Store.
In 1999, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jude Freeman. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, a brother, a granddaughter, and a grandson.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Curtis and husband, George, of East Bernard; three sons: Bob Freeman and wife, Gladys, of Garden Grove, Calif, Bill Freeman and wife, Glenda, of Kingwood, and Kim Freeman and wife, Willie May of Alvin; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel in Rosenberg, with burial services to be at Denver City Memorial Park in Denver City, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all contributions be made in her memory to the First United Methodist Church of Denver City, or to the Greater Houston Area Hospice Foundation.

Judith Baker
Judy Baker, 66 of Lubbock, peacefully departed this life at her home surrounded by her family on Dec. 22, 2007. She was born Sept. 2, 1941 in Oneal, Neb. to Dennis Jorgensen, Sr. and Francis Vodicka (Pollock). Mrs. Baker attended school in Ulysses, Nebraska. She moved to Lubbock in 1968. Judy married
Stanley Baker in Lubbock on November 15, 1980. She was an Accounting Associate from 1985 to 2006 in the Dallas area. Judy was a member of the Eagles Lodge. She loved bowling and spending time with friends and especially family. Traveling was a passion for her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Stan Baker; two daughters, Kim Johnson and Jeff Carey of Lubbock; Karen and husband Craig Ewing of Sioux Falls, SD; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dick Jorgensen and wife Virginia of Gilmer, TX; Dennis Jorgensen, Jr. and wife Grace of Kearney, Neb.; Jim Jorgensen of Ohio; sister-in-law Marge Jorgensen of Seward, Neb; special friends Lola and Jack Sedberry of Springhill, Louisiana.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her son Kevin Rezac in 2005; and one brother Tom Jorgensen.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the Meadow Sr. Citizens Center in Meadow, TX with Craig Ewing officiating.
