Eula Eaves Parrack
Graveside services for Eula Eaves Parrack, 102, former Floydada resident, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at the Floydada cemetery, with Dr. Floyd Bradley of Lubbock officiating. Burial will follow by Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. She died Friday, Jan. 31, 2008 at Prairie Acres Nursing Home in Friona. She married
W. B. Parrack, Sr., July 30, 1922, in Estacado, Texas. He died in June 1986. Survivors include one son, William B. Parrack, Jr. of Lubbock; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 16 great great-grandchildren.
Donna Jean Hindes
Donna Jean Hindes, 69, of Lubbock Texas passed from this earth on Jan. 31, 2008. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. She was born in Washington D.C. on Jan. 22, 1939, to Manton and Thelma Wyvell. She moved to Lubbock to begin her young life and to be near her Aunt Dorothy Wyvell in Midland. She attended Grier School for Girls until 1957 and continued her education graduating from the International School of Business in 1987. She worked in many jobs to support herself and her family, but was most proud of her work as a care-giver and especially in the care of Hallie Mitchell.
She is survived by her children, Duane Hindes, Danny Hindes, and Kelly Beatty; her grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas, Logan, Jenna, William, and Christopher; and her many dear friends.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 4th at Agape Chapel, 6625 West 19th, in Lubbock from 3 to 5 p.m. Services will be at First Baptist Church, 401 Houston, in Levelland Feb. 5th at 1:30 p.m., with Steve Vernon officiating. Interment will follow at Levelland cemetery. Family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church in Levelland.
Dene Bridges
Services for Dene Bridges, 74, of Lubbock will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, in the Abernathy First Baptist Church, with Rev. Mike O'Donnell, pastor, officiating. Military Graveside services will follow in the Abernathy cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.
Mr. Bridges died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, in Lubbock.
He was born May 15, 1933, in Detroit, Texas, to Hardy Lee Bridges and Ollie Mae (Evans) Bridges. He was raised in Abernathy and married
La Nelda Hughes on April 25, 1953 in Plainview. He served in the US Army from 1953-1957. They moved to Lubbock in 1981. He was a member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, La Nelda Bridges of Lubbock; five children, Ricky Bridges and wife Pam of Lubbock, Don Bridges of Buffalo Springs Lake, Ron Bridges and wife Denessa of Lubbock, Dennis Bridges and wife Ginny of Texarkana, and Sherri Shoemaker and husband Roger of Flower Mound. He is also survived by a brother, Johnny Bridges and wife Sue of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Wanda Jordan of Fort Worth; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Billy Shumard
Services for Billy Shumard, 63, of Post will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Hudman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will be in Terrace cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
He died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 in Post. He was born July 27, 1944, in Post, to V. L. (Buster) and Mildred Shumard. He was a graduate of Post High School and then served in the US Army. He married
Doylene Fry on Sept. 26, 1969 in Post. He worked as an oilfield pumper.
Survivors include his wife, Doylene Shumard of Post; three daughters, Stacy Hair of Post, Tracy (Dusty) Hoskins of Sweetwater and Becky (Matt) Clifton of Seguin; one sister, Barbara (Melvin) Britton of Post; and eight grandchildren, Kamron Shumard of Post, Kensley Hair of Post, K'Lenn Hair of Post, Kyleigh Shumard of Post, Renae Storie of Seguin, Wil Storie of Seguin, Gage Hoskins of Sweetwater and Gatlyn Hoskins of Sweetwater.

Forrest W. Tanner
In Loving Memory. Mr. Forrest W. Tanner, 86, of San Jose, Calif., formerly of Lubbock was born June 8, 1921. He passed away Jan. 23. 2008.
Memorial services will be Feb. 10, 2008 at Erickson Mortuary in San Jose, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Lucell; son, Jerry Tanner; daughters, Deloris McDonald, April Kay Neilson, and Karen Ferrante; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sister, Marieta Don Bruton of Lubbock. He was preceded in death by sister, Ruby, brother, Lewis and father, Lon Tanner; mother, Lona Griffith; and stepfather, Ed B. Griffith.

Harley Morgan Wood, Jr.
Harley Morgan Wood, Jr., 77, was born in Smyer Community, Hockley Co., Texas, to Harley Sr. and Mable (Tunnell) Wood. He was a farmer in the Smyer Community for 55 years. He graduated from Smyer High School in 1948. He was a volunteer for the Sheriffs Dept. in Levelland for several years and worked with the High Plains Water Conservation Board.
After retiring, Harley moved to Lubbock where he enjoyed attending the Texas Tech Lady Raider Games and most of all he enjoyed driving his pickup to check out the crops and visit family and friends.
He is survived by two sons, Larry Wood and wife Joann of Alabaster, Ala. and Tony Wood and wife Teresa of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two daughters, Pat Grissom of Friendswood and Mary Bishop of Clarendon; twin sister, Helen June Price of Lubbock and friend Betty Strickland; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Eleanor Hart, Billie Nell Letchworth and Sarah Lee. He attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church and through many tribulations in life, his faith held him up and made him a better man.
The family will greet friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wilsons' Funeral Directors in Wolfforth. A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, at 10 a.m., at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth, with Pastor Michael Schafer of Aldersgate United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will be in Wilsons' Funeral Directors cemetery.

Harold Dwight Dow, Sr.
It is with great sadness that we share the loss of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Harold Dwight "Rowdy" Dow. He blessed us with his life for 93 years, and passed away on Jan. 25, 2008, in Dallas, Texas. Harold Dow was born Nov. 29, 1914, in Lubbock, Texas, and was the son of Lila and James L. Dow, pioneer Lubbock newspaper editor and publisher. He was a graduate of Lubbock High School and Texas Tech University, and earned his medical degree in 1940, at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas. After completing his internship, he began his family practice career in Levelland, Texas.
At UTMB, he met Dorothy Huber, and they married
in 1941. In 1946, the family moved to Seminole, Texas, where he was privileged to serve the individuals and families of the community for 45 years. He was deeply devoted to his patients, and he aspired to practice the ideals of wisdom, compassion, and benevolence of a dedicated country doctor.
In addition to his educational and professional accomplishments, he was an Eagle Scout, Master Mason, and a lifelong member of the Methodist church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Rankin Dow and Melvin Dow, and sister Bunnye Dow Gordon.
Harold is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his children, Deann Dow Gant and husband Dr. Norman Gant, Dr. Dwight Dow and wife Patricia, and Dr. David Dow and wife Shanny; his grandchildren, Andrew Sanders, Gregory Sanders, Daniel Dow, Benjamin Dow, and Dr. Dorothy Dow; and his great-grandson, Samuel George Sanders.
In accordance with his wishes, the family will have a private memorial service. The family suggests memorial gifts to Community One Outreach, 504 NW Ave. F, Seminole, TX 79360, Shriners Childrens Hospital, 815 Market St., Galveston, TX 77550, or to a charity of your choice.
Jack W. Thornhill, Sr.
Jack W. Thornhill, Sr., age 82, of Garland, Dec. 17, 1925 to Feb. 1, 2008, was a member of the Elks Lodge #71, a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, a Deltiologist, and retired Locksmith. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Billie Thornhill; son, Jack Thornhill Jr.; daughters, Karla Pajot and husband, Tom, Tamara Talbot and husband, Rodney and Candace Young and husband, Barry; sisters, Karen Wilkerson and Barbara Guckenheimer; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Onley and Audie Thornhill and a brother, Ted Thornhill.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008 at DFW National cemetery Lane A with the Elks officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Williams Funeral Directors.

Jimmy Gloria
Funeral services for Jimmy Gloria, 66, of Lubbock will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Andres Mendoza officiating.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
He died on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on May 23, 1941 in Claremont, Texas. He married
Felipa Nettie Hernandez on March 23, 1962 in Lubbock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Lorenza Gloria; three brothers, Armando, Cornelio and Bennie Gloria; and one sister, Juanita Ramirez.
Mr. Gloria worked at Bordens as a Register Lab Tech before his illness. He graduated from South Plains College with an Associate's Degree in Industrial Food Management. He was once a member of LULAC and most of all he was a great father and grandfather and was loved by all of his family. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Felipa N. Gloria; son, Jimmy C. Gloria of Mansfield; daughters, Jamie Gloria Martinez and Lori Gloria Rios, both of Lubbock and Janice Gloria of Ft. Worth; brothers, Leo and Gilbert Gloria, both of Lubbock; sisters, Eulalia Cortinas and Josie Betancourt, both of Lubbock and Ofelia De Anda of Houston; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Kay Ann Hubbard
Memorial services for Kay Ann Hubbard, 58, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 in Sanders Memorial Chapel.
Cremation services are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
She passed away on Jan. 31, 2008.
Kay was born August 5, 1949 in Hamilton. She was married
to an ex-police officer, Danny Lee Hubbard. She had one son, Dane Hubbard. She was a clerical assistant for the District Clerks Office-Child Support Division retiring in 2003. She was also a county dance instructor.
Survivors include her son, Dane Hubbard; grandson, Austin Lee Green-Hubbard; her mother, Ella Agee; and a sister, Vicky Miller.
