Fay Walls
Surrounded by her family, Fay Walls, 86, went to be with her Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ on Feb. 8, 2008. She spent her life serving Christ and others. As a graduate of LIFE Bible College, she served alongside her husband, Rev. R.J. Walls, as they pastored Foursquare Churches in Levelland, Brownfield and Lubbock. She later worked alongside her husband to help establish Great Plains Manufacturing Co. All the while she was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend. She spent her latter days writing inspirational journals, e-mails and letters or making encouraging phone calls and visits. She will be remembered as a lady of prayer, dignity and strength. She is preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Lou Ann Walls.
Survivors include three daughters, Gail Shipley and husband, Freddy, of El Paso, Sue Johnson and husband, John, of Lubbock, Judy Paulson and husband, Mike, of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; a sister, Marie Moody, of Plainview and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008 from 3 -5 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Monday, Feb. 11, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Fresh Fire Fellowship. Interment will follow in Hale Center cemetery.
C.A. (Bo) McDonald
Graveside services for C.A. (Bo) McDonald, 85, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 11, 2008 at the City of Lubbock cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
He passed away on Feb. 9, 2008.
Charles Arthur McDonald Jr. was born Feb. 24, 1922 in Abilene, Texas to Charles Arthur and Vera Belle McDonald. He moved to Lubbock as a child and was a member of the Lubbock High School Class of 1939. He married
Virginia Horne on May 30, 1942 in Lubbock. Bo served in the U.S. Navy in the 23rd Battalion Seabees from 1942 to 1945.
His life long occupation was farming in the New Deal and Idalou area. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Tana Beasley, of Stuttgart, Ark.; a brother, Walt McDonald and his wife, Carol of Lubbock; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., Sunday at Sanders Funeral Home.
Ceidell (Sally) Whitaker
Funeral services for Ceidell (Sally) Whitaker, 95, of Levelland will be 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 11, 2008 at Fairview Baptist Church, Levelland. Burial will be in City of Levelland cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland. She died at 3:02 a.m., Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 at Lynwood Manor, Levelland, Texas.
She was born on June 16, 1912 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma and moved to Hockley County, Texas in 1940 from Whiteflat, Texas. She married
Earnest Whitaker on Dec. 20, 1932 in Clovis, New Mexico. He died Dec. 27, 1986. She was a longtime active member of Fairview Baptist Church, Levelland. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Steve Polasek; her brothers, Johnny Foster, A. C. Foster, James Foster, and her sisters, Bernice Foster and Ersel Foster.
Survivors include a daughter, Susie Henderson of Levelland, Texas; a son, Jerry Mack Whitaker and his wife, June of Cedar Park, Texas; a sister, Mary Young and her husband, Marshall of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Beth Polasek and Keno Henderson and his wife, DeAnn; her great grandchildren, Hayley McManus and her husband Jason, Kensey Henderson; and a great great granddaughter, Emily McManus.
The family suggests memorials to Fairview Baptist Church.
Dr. Melvin A. Golden
Dr. Melvin A. Golden, 74, died Nov. 13, 2007, in Boston, Mass. A longtime resident of Lubbock, Dr. Golden was in private practice and later worked for Reese AFB, the VA Clinic, and Texas Tech University Health Science Center. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 3:30 p.m., at Congregation Shareth Israel, 6928 83rd St., Lubbock, TX.
Dr. Golden held a bachelor's degree in biology from Boston University and a bachelor's degree in Jewish education at Hebrew College in Boston, and graduated from University of Vermont School of Medicine in 1964.
He leaves his companion, Carolie Mullan; his children, Yifat Schulsinger and husband Alan of Brooklyn, N.Y., Avi Golden of Queens, N.Y., and Sima Golden of Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren, Eli, Meir, Hannah, Daniel, and Magan; sisters, Miriam Bloomfield and husband Irving of Chestnut Hill, Mass. and Hadassah Mendelsohn of Framingham, Mass.; nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Bloomfield and wife Nicole of Carlisle, Mass., Michael Mendelsohn of Brighton, Mass. and Sharon Freedman and husband Eric of Holliston, Mass.; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Ian, Charlie and James Bloomfield, and Jared and Karla Freedman.

Allison Dagg
Allison Dagg, 34, went to be with her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ on Feb. 10th, 2008. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15th at Oakwood Baptist Church in Lubbock. Committal service will follow at Peaceful Gardens cemetery Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather to share in love and support from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14th, as well as on Friday, Feb. 15th, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers.
Allison was a dedicated wife and mother, who enjoyed spending the majority of her time caring, and serving others in need. Allison loved to comfort and share God's love to children, and was serving as the Interim Children's Director at Oakwood Baptist Church. Allison loved to volunteer her time to help strengthen her community and was an active member in the Junior League of Lubbock. She will be remembered as a woman of unconditional love, unselfishness, faith, prayer, hope, strength, and integrity.
Survivors include her husband of 13 years, Joseph Dagg; daughters, Zoey and Kiya Dagg; son, Tabor Dagg; parents Gary and Patricia Gilliam; sister Beverly Gilliam; maternal grandparents James and Billie Holloway; paternal grandmother Sibyl Gilliam; and several hundreds of other family and friends in Lubbock, Little Rock, Ark., Bossier City, La. and around the world.

Edward T. "Ted" Hubbard
LAKE ANN, Mich. - Edward Theodore Hubbard, 90, of Lake Ann, formerly of Lansing, Mich., known to all as Ted, passed away Saturday afternoon, Dec. 10, 2005, at his home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Lake Ann United Methodist Church Education Building (old church in downtown Lake Ann) with his son, the Rev. Gary Hubbard and his pastor, the Rev. Charles Towersey, officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Lucille "Lucy" Hubbard of Lake Ann; sons, Jon Hubbard of Interlochen, Mich., and Rev. Gary (Judy) of Earth; his grandsons, Michael Hubbard, Randy (Gordie) Hubbard, Nathan (Tonya) Hubbard, Brian Hubbard, Aaron (Tammy) Hubbard, and Jonathan Hubbard; and two great-grandchildren.

Walter Lee Rice, Jr.
Walter Lee Rice, Jr. died Tuesday morning, Feb. 19, 2008, in Lubbock. Graveside services will be Thursday morning, February 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park with Dr. Ken Horn officiating. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, Lubbock, on Wednesday evening, Feb. 20, 2008, from 5:30 until 7 p.m.
Lee was born to Walter Lee Rice, Sr. and Ivey Estella Carman Rice in Jayton, on Oct. 19, 1920. The youngest of three children, Lee was preceded in death by his two sisters, Mary Inez Brendle (husband Abe) and Dorothy Bush (husband Herman). Lee lived in Jayton until about the age of 12 when the family moved to Meadow. Reared by a cotton ginner/farmer dad and a teacher/missionary mother, Lee graduated from Meadow High School in 1938 as Senior Class President. He worked in the gin, an oil mill, a bank, and a drug store before deciding on law enforcement. From an article in the Lubbock Avalanche Journal dated March 15, 1981, Lee said, "...he took the job because a lot of his friends had taken the step before him." The job he took was with the Lubbock Police Department and this job resulted in the career he loved. He graduated from Police School, Dec. 12, 1946, and began a career that spanned 41 years. Lee met Mary Louise Gray about two years before this and they fell in love forever and were married
Sept. 15, 1946. God blessed this union with four children, Lee III (wife Marsha), Judy Lyn Love (husband Earl), Lanny Clare (wife Cathy) and Timothy Layne and 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Louise preceded Lee in death in 1984.
Lee held several jobs in law enforcement - six years with the Lubbock Police Department, 18 years with the sheriff's office, four with adult probation and eight as Chief Investigator for District Attorney John Montford.
Lee was a member in good standing of Yellowhouse Masonic Lodge #841, Lubbock Scottish Rite, and a charter member of Southcrest Baptist Church.

Roosevelt Lee Whitfield
Roosevelt Lee Whitfield, 78, of Lubbock passed away at Heritage Oak Nursing Home Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008. Services will be Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Ford Memorial. Burial will follow at Ralls cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.
Roosevelt Lee Whitfield was born Aug. 29, 1929 to Mozelle Hubbard and James Willie Whitfield. He was the fourth child of the union. He attended schools in Ralls; he later moved to Lubbock. R.L. was united in Holy Matrimony with Sedalia Anderson Sept. 10, 1966. Two children were born to this union. He leaves his memory and celebration of his home going to five daughters, Linda Lou, Elizabeth, Willie Katherine, Queta Shenell and Va Rita Kay; one brother, James Willie Whitfield, Jr.; one sister, Nell Collins; a godson, Omar D. Jones; a special brother and sister, Jeremiah and Mable Yates; three very special nieces, Willi Hervey, Mozelle Wilson and Annie Alexander; 11 grandchildren, Lamon, Kirsten, Roosevelt "Tee", Simone, Michael, Sha Stasia, Ke Andrea, Tiesha, La Tarus, Shavia and Sha Kea; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 3-6 today at Griffin Mortuary.
Frances Taylor Shaw
Frances Taylor Shaw, 74, of Lubbock passed suddenly from this life Monday, Feb. 18, 2008. She was born May 9, 1933, in Vera, to Robert and Amy Wiggins.
She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone from 1959 until retiring in 1989. She then went to work for Wal-Mart as an associate. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
Survivors include three sons, Steven, David, and Michael Taylor, all of Lubbock; daughter-in-law, Judi; two sisters, Aline Milam and Rosey Morgan; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Jesse, Joseph, Jared, Jennifer, Clinton, Amanda, and John; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at 10 a.m., at Sanders Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Vera cemetery in Vera. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
The visitation is anytime Friday and Saturday morning but the family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:30-8 p.m.
Cheryl Collins Miller
Cheryl Collins Miller, 69, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Murray Gossett, Associate Minister, officiating. Private Burial will be at Llano cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Cheryl was born on July 31, 1938, in Okmulgee, Okla., to Orvid and Mildred Collins. She attended School in Okmulgee and Bartlesville, Okla., before moving to Borger, where she graduated from Borger High School. She was a graduate of Texas Tech University, with a Bachelors degree in business education. She married
Oth Miller on Sept. 9, 1961, in Borger. Cheryl was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling and quilting with her very special friends.
Survivors include her husband, Oth Miller of the home; daughter, Kelly Miller of Amarillo; son, William Miller of Dallas; parents, Orvid and Mildred Collins of Amarillo; and two brothers, David Collins and wife Mona of Amarillo and James Collins of Lubbock.
