BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Thompson was born September 13, 1909 in Coryell County, Texas. She married
Gerald Thompson on September 28, 1924 in Osage, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1985. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1951. She was a member of the Highland Baptist Church. She was a former manager of the Pak-A-Burger in Pampa, and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Thompson in 1973, 2 sisters, Pearl Graham in 1986 and Ada Hord in 2001, and 1 brother, Marvin Warren in 1998.
SURVIVORS: 5 Sons: George Thompson and Douglas Thompson, both of Pampa, Jess Thompson of Midland, Jerry Thompson of Houston, and Dwight Thompson of Groom. 2 Daughters: Jean Finley of Longview, and Naomi Lamb of Lubbock. 1 Brother: Willis Warren of Andrews. 3 Sisters: Annie of Clifton, Bernice of Andrews, and Charlene of Spearman. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Kay Coombes Smithers

SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, February 3, 2003, at Memory Gardens cemetery, with Dan Chaney, Central Church of Christ minister, and Billy Dale Meadows, Church of Christ minister, officiating.

BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Smithers was born December 25, 1922 in Girard, Texas. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1922, graduating from Pampa High School. She married
N. B. (Rod) Smithers on August 29, 1942 in Pampa. He preceded her in death in 1996. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator for 34 ½ years. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ, and a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter & Son-in-Law: Kay & Darryl Hughes of Pampa. 2 Grandchildren: Ryan Hughes and Andrea Hughes, both of Pampa. 1 Brother: A. P. Coombes. She was preceded in death by her parents, K. & Rosa Coombes, and 2 brothers, H. T. Coombes and L. J. Coombes.
Virginia Lyles Swinney

BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Swinney was born Sept 24, 1919 in Archer City, Texas. She had been a resident of Pampa most of her life. She was a bookkeeper for Cretney Drug Store for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Leon Lyles, in 1977, and Cecil Swinney, in 1984.
SURVIVORS: 2 Sons: Tony Leon Lyles of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Billy Roy Lyles of Wichita Falls, Texas; 1 Daughter: Dorothy Cowan of Pampa; 2 Sisters: Edna Dragoo of Wichita Falls, Texas and Grace Watkins of Sherman, Texas; 7 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild
Florence Schrimpf Berry

NAME: Florence Schrimpf Berry, 97, was called home to be with the Lord, our Savior, Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003 at her home while surrounded by her loving family.
SERVICES: 9:30 AM Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Albert Maggard, pastor, and Rev. Scott Barton, pastor of the First Assembly of God in Perryton, officiating.
BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Monday at Kingfisher cemetery in Kingfisher, Oklahoma with Dr. Marcus Adair, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Berry was born on April 14, 1905 at St. Clair, Missouri to August Charles and Eldora Ellen Redhage. Her early life was spent in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. She was married
to Lloyd Alfred Schrimpf on July 31, 1920 in Oklahoma City. She and her husband served in pastoral and evangelistic work for many years. In 1960, she and her husband moved to Kingsmill, Texas where she lived until 1977. After Rev. Schrimpf's death in 1976, she married
Fred Berry of Kingfisher, Oklahoma on Dec. 3, 1977. She lived in Kingfisher for 13 years before returning to Pampa in 1990 to be near her family. Mr. Berry preceded her in death in 1993.
SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Mary Helen Ross Chavez and husband, Col. Joseph D. Chavez of Albuquerque, NM, and Bonnie June Pletcher and husband, Paul Allen Pletcher of Pampa; 2 sisters: Della Perkins and Helen Thein both of San Antonio; 8 grandchildren: Elaine Ennis and husband John; Janelle Yuska and husband, Mark; Janeva Bailey and husband, Rev. John Bailey; Joyce Creed and husband, Rev. Kevin Creed; Marilyn Tillery and husband, Edward; Myrna Jean Pletcher; Timothy Pletcher ; and Rebecca Barton and husband, Rev. Scott Barton. 11 great grandchildren: Johanna Boyes and husband, Peter; Megan Jones; Cameron and Caleb Creed; Allison and Lauren Yuska; Brianna, Barak, and Bodin Barton; Carillion Thiessen and husband, Aaron; and Carolyn Tillery; 2 great great grandchildren: Jonathan and Zachary Boyes; Several nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends. She was preceded in death by a son Lloyd A. Schrimpf, Jr., parents August Charles and Eldora Ellen Redhage; stepmother, Anna Redhage; son-in-law, Paul A. Ross; brothers, Eber Leslie Redhage and George Redhage; sisters, Edna Muecke and Lillian Redhage; and by a grandson, Jonathan Andrew Bailey.

BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Certain was born April 26, 1928 in Amarillo and was a 1946 graduate of Amarillo High School. He worked for Allis-Chalmers Machinery Construction in Amarillo, Memphis, Tennessee, and West Monroe, Louisiana for over 30 years. He was a Baptist and was founder of Ouachita River Boating Association.
SURVIVORS: Wife: Mollie Certain of Monroe; 1 daughter: Dana Barnes of West Monroe, LA; 1 son: Scott Certain of West Monroe; 1 stepdaughter: Kelly Boyd of West Monroe; 1 stepson: Lance Turner of Memphis, TN; 1 sister: Joyce Wilemon of Downey, CA; and 4 grandchildren.

BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. McCarthy was born February 22, 1915 in Alvord, Texas. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1937. She married
D. C. "Cotton" McCarthy on October 21, 1939 in Sayre, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2000. She was a homemaker and a member of the Central Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Charles McCarthy of Odessa. 2 Sisters: Ida Mae Berry of Clinton, Oklahoma, and Vestalee Hicks of Pampa. 2 Brothers: Leon Terry of Orange, and W. O. Terry of Amarillo. 5 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Ronnie McCarthy in 1997, and 2 brothers, Weldon Terry in 1997 and Foy Terry in 2000.

BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Brewer was born September 21, 1919 at Throckmorton, Texas. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, joining in 1944 and was discharged in 1946. While in the Navy, he received self defense training and was rated as a 3rd degree black belt in jujitsu. He competed and taught judo as a sport and as self defense for many years. He married
Juanita Graham on May 21, 1939 at Haskell. She preceded him in death in 1990. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1947. He worked as a welder for Cabot Corp. and IRI, retiring in 1984. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of the Pampa Senior Citizens. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Sonshine Club.
SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter & Son-in-Law: Beverly & Jerome Humphrey of Pampa. 1 Son: Curtis E. Brewer of Australia. 6 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren. Special Friend: Juanita Rogers of Pampa.
