Gloria Dunnam
Gloria Dunnam was born in Lubbock, Texas April 13, 1953 to Charlie and June Drum Dunnam. She was a graduate of Cooper High School and had been employed over the years as a chef. She loved to cook for family and friends. She died July 4, 2003 at her mother’s residence near Lubbock and will be missed by her family.
Surviving family members are a daughter, Veta Smith, of Junction City, Kansas; her mother, June Dunnam, of Lubbock; a sister, Norma Clark of Lubbock; a brother, James Dunnam, of Crowley, Texas; and four grandchildren, Cory, Samantha, Brianna and Angela.
Services will be scheduled at a later date.
Dr. John R. Chalk
Dr. John R. Chalk, longtime Lubbock physician, died Monday evening, June 30, at his residence. He was 82. He was born in Quanah, Texas and graduated from Lubbock High School at age 16, Texas Tech University at age 19 and the University of Tennessee School of Medicine at age 21. He served in the U. S. Air Force following his graduation and served his internship as a flight surgeon in Vienna, Austria. He returned to Lubbock and opened a practice in 1949 with Dr. Lee E. Hale, and was an owner of West Texas Hospital and later served as Chief of Staff at St. Mary’s Hospital, retiring in 1986. While in Texas Tech, he was a member of Silver Key and assisted in bringing that social club into Phi Delta Theta, a national fraternity .
He was married
to Callie Martin, of Lubbock, May 5, 1951. She served with her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, in both local and national areas. She died March 4, 1995.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Ann) Johnston, of Lubbock, and Mrs. Curtis (Mary) Wheat, of Fort Worth, a son, John R. (Rutley) Chalk II, of Freeport, Maine, and eight grandchildren: Will, Jessica, Callie Ann, and John Johnston, of Lubbock; Amanda Wheat of Houston and Mary Ann Wheat of Fort Worth; and Morgan and Lauren Chalk of Albuquerque.

Amelia Perez
(October 6, 1935 - September 29, 2011)
Funeral Mass for Amelia Cordeo Perez, 75, of Olton who passed away Thursday September 29, 2011 will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, October 3, 2011 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Olton with Father Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Olton cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday October 2, 2011 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Olton. Arrangements are under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.
Amelia was born October 6, 1935 in Melvin, Texas to Doroteo, Sr. and Daria Cordeo. She was a member of the Olton community since 1949, and was a member of the St. Peters Catholic Church. Amelia loved to dance, and she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her two daughters, Virginia Perez and Martha Carabajal both of Lubbock; five granddaughters, Natalia Carabajal of San Antonio, Andrea Carabajal of Lubbock, Carissa Carabajal of Lubbock, Jessica Lujan of Rotan, TX, and Miranda Martinez of Lubbock; and five great grandchildren, Alesandrea Espinoza, Joseph Carabajal, Johnaven Perez, Joey Alyssa Lujan, and Joshua Lujan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ebodio “Eddie” Perez; two brothers, Jose Cordero and Doroteo Cordero, Jr.; and a sister, Aurora Aguirre.
Eduardo "Lalo" Martinez
(October 13, 1934 - October 5, 2011)
Eduardo "Lalo" Martinez, 76, of Olton, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011, in Olton. Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M., Friday, October 7, 2011 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 8, 2011 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Olton with Fr. John Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Hart cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Mr. Martinez was born October 13, 1934 in Uvalde, TX to Silvestre and Isabel Dominguez Martinez. He was a lifetime area resident and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He loved to walk and literally walked across America.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a son, Carlos Martinez and his wife, Elizabeth of Dumas, a daughter, Adriana Medrano and her husband, Carmelo of Slaton, and a brother, Tony Martinez of Minnesota. He was blessed with six grandchildren.
Mildred Frances Graham
(October 9, 1919 - October 16, 2011)
Mildred Frances Graham, 92, of Olton, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 in Olton. Celebration of life services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Olton with Byron Potter and David Azam officiating. Interment will follow at Olton cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Mildred Frances Moore Graham was born October 9, 1919 in Knox County to the late W.R. and Nannie Coffman Moore. She moved with her family to Wayside in 1929 and attended school there, Tulia, and Happy. Later, she moved to Plainview where she met Lloyd Graham. They were married
August 22, 1970 and enjoyed twenty-one years together in Olton before his death in 1991.
Mildred was also preceded in death by a brother, Roland Moore, three sisters, Vivian Moore, Cora Belle Roberts and Lois Culwell, and two grand-daughters, Tami Garcia and Kecia Homen.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Frances Jackson of Olton and Gayland McGill of Lubbock, a son, Terry Kit Littlefield and his wife, Sherri of Blackwell, Oklahoma, two sisters, Lucille Culwell and her husband, John of Vigo Park and Neva Latham of Arkansas, and two sisters-in-law, Mary Billie Moore of Vigo Park, and Mary Graham of Corpus Christie. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Shan Durham, Dusty Durham, Sherilyn and Elton Pharr, Jarrod and Deann McGill, Dean and Kim Jackson, Todd and Emily Lowe and Terry and Denise Littlefield. From these grandchildren are fifteen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Amador "Mayo" Anzaldua

Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 10, 2011 at St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. John Smith officiating. Mayo was born July 10, 1965 in Olton to Eddie and Nicomedes Rivera Anzaldua. He graduated high school in Texas City in 1983. He was a catholic and loved his work as a mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Anzaldua in 2000, his maternal grandparents and his paternal grandfather.
Survivors include his mother, Nicomedes Anzaldua of Littlefield, his grandmother, Maria Anzaldua of Amarillo, three brothers, Anthony Anzaldua of Texas City, Albert Anzaldua of Orange, TX, and Arnoldo Anzaldua of Littlefield. He was blessed with two very special nephews and a niece, Little Tony, Nick, and Michelle.
Clifford "CL" Curry
(April 10, 1936 - November 7, 2011)
Clifford "CL" Curry, 75, of Olton, died Monday, November 7, 2011, in Lubbock. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 11, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Olton with Brother Larry Holder officiating and arrangements under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Clifford "CL" Curry was born April 10, 1936 in Floydada to Clifford and Addie Aaron Curry. On June 4, 1958, he married
Torchie Cure. He was an educator for 34 years and seven of those years were spent serving the Olton schools. He also taught for Pettus I.S.D., Boling I.S.D., Round Top-Carmine I.S.D. as superintendent, and Eldorado I.S.D. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the masonic lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Torchie in 2010, a son, Victor Kyle Curry in 1998, and a granddaughter, Teri LaRue Silvas in 1985.
Survivors include two daughters, Torri Silvas and her husband, Refugio Silvas, Jr. of Tyler, and Billie Dyer and her husband, Dan of Palestine, two sisters, Marcelle Wagner of Victoria and Claudine Mayes of Canyon Lake. He was blessed with three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Manuel Perez, Jr.

Manuel Perez, Jr., 68, of Olton, died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in Lubbock. Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M., Friday, November 11, 2011 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Olton. Manuel was born December 31, 1942 in San Marcos, Texas to Manuel and Evarista Teneyuque Perez. He married
Janie Rivas on February 3, 1970 in Sheffield, Texas. He moved to Olton and was a farmer for 48 years. Manuel was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and served as the CCD teacher for seven years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ebodio Perez, Fortunato Perez, and Frank Perez.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Perez of Olton, three sons, Manuel Lee Perez and his wife, Velma of Lubbock, Jamie Lee Perez and his wife, Cindy of Amarillo, and Christopher G. Perez and his wife, Sameera of Amarillo, one brother, Henry Perez and his wife, Elfida of Olton, two sisters, Antonia Zamora of Olton and Carla Saucedo of Olton. He was blessed with four grandchildren: Marissa Rivera, Hope Perez, Brody James Perez, and Jameson Luke Perez.

Monica Villanueva Sandoval

Monica Villanueva Sandoval, 39, of Olton, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, in Lubbock. Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. John Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Olton cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Monica was born December 1, 1973 in Petersburg, Texas to Stephan and Amparo Villanueva. She married
Bruno Sandoval on January 14, 2008 in Lubbock. In 2010, she moved to Olton and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Monica was a loving mother and caring wife. She loved to read, loved photography, arts and crafts, and enjoyed going antiquing.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Casey Villanueva and a sister, Amparo "Tito" Davila.
Survivors include her parents, Stephan and Amparo Villanueva of Dimmitt, her husband, Bruno Sandoval of Olton, two sons, Jas Villanueva and Remy Sandoval, both of Olton, a daughter, Isla Sandoval of Olton, and two brothers, Stephan Villanueva of North Carolina and Stacey Villanueva of Lubbock.
A love fund has been set up at Security State Bank in Olton to assist the family with expenses.
