LAKE KIOWA - Services for John W. Malaise Sr., 80, of Lake Kiowa will be at 2 p.m. today in Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Chennault, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview cemetery under direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Malaise died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 14, 1919, in Smithville. He married
Betty Rector on Nov. 26, 1941, in Handley. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He moved to Big Spring in 1945, and he was head basketball coach and a math teacher until 1949. He moved to Odessa, and he was head basketball coach and a math teacher at Odessa High School. He retired from coaching in 1962 and continued teaching until retiring in 1983. He moved to Lake Kiowa, and he was a member of the Lake Kiowa Men's Golf Association.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dub of McKinney and Dan of Lubbock; a daughter, Liddie Malaise of McKinney; a brother, Lawrence of Richardson; three sisters, Louise Hudson of Temple, Appie Webb of Temple and Beth Easley of Lake Kiowa; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Eva Snelling
PLAINVIEW - Services for Eva Mae Snelling, 81, of Edmonson will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Ninth & Columbia Street Church of Christ with Mike Prather, minister, officiating. Jimmy Wood of Faith Village Church of Christ in Wichita Falls will assist.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park cemetery under direction of Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.
She died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in Covenant Hospital in Plainview.
She was born Sept. 11, 1917, in Hollis, Okla. She married
Elmo O. Snelling on July 14, 1940, in Hollis, Okla. She moved to Plainview from Hollis in 1950. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Edmonson Northwest Home Demonstration Club and 4-H Club. She was a life member of the PTA. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Guy of Edmonson and Wayne of Plainview; two daughters, Jean Courtney of Allen and Dela Kellner of Blanchard, Okla.; four sisters, Margurette Spradin of Clovis, N.M., Wanda Lentz of Neosho, Mo., Vernell Seals of Bartlesville, Okla., and Vada Jo Choate of Ada, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
June Alexander
June White Snodgrass Alexander of Paris, Texas, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, in Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Memorial services will be at a later date.
She had lived in Lubbock for several years. She worked at Grinnell's Lee Malt Bar. She was know as June Bug on the CB radio. She belonged to the Flatlands, Roaring 20s and several other clubs. She moved to Paris from Lubbock.
Survivors include three brothers, Charles White of Tennessee, Billy Wayne and Joey Johnsone; and two sisters, Pat Lyle of Paris and Glenda Joyce of Paris.
Gail Henson
ODESSA - Services for Gail Henson, 90, of Abilene will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Northside Baptist Church with the Revs. Glenn Harlin and Clydell Chapman officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa under direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She died Monday, March 1, 1999, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 26, 1908, in Pawhuska County, Okla. She moved to Odessa in 1936. She was a retired secretary for Medical Center Hospital. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Loren Boyd of Abilene, Joe of Midland, Dean of Sun City West, Ariz., and John of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Anne Arrington
Services for Anne Earle Arrington, 97, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Bowman Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Keith Wiseman officiating.
Private burial will be under direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
She died Friday, March 5, 1999, in Carillon Medical Center.
She was born in Pamplin, Va., on Jan. 4, 1902. She married
Joe Arrington Sr. in Waco on June 30, 1926. He died Nov. 17, 1974. She was a graduate of Battle Creek College and Baylor University and had taught in Mexia, Waco and at Lubbock High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Builders-Sorosis Sunday School Class, the Trowel and Error Garden Club and the Lubbock Antique and Collectors Club. She was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Joe Arrington.
Survivors include her sister, Margaret Earle Early of Lubbock.
Memorials are suggested to the Joe Arrington Cancer Center, 4101 22nd Place, Lubbock 79410.
Frances Martin
Services for Frances "Sissy" Pevey Martin, 55, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ralls First Baptist Church with Jackie Farmer officiating.
Burial will be in Ralls cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
She died Friday, May 28, 1999, at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born Oct. 12, 1943, in Gober. She was a Baptist. She lived in Lubbock most of her life.
Survivors include four brothers, Buddy Pevey, Jim Pevey, Doug Pevey and Butch Pevey, all of Lubbock; and three sisters, Juliah Robinson, Eva Wigley and Jean Cantrell, all of Lubbock.
Wyndle Johnson and Vera Johnson
PLAINVIEW - Services for Wyndle Johnson, 74, and Vera Mae Looper Keller Johnson, 83, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. today in Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph Johnson, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under direction of Lemons Funeral Home.
Wyndle died Monday, March 1, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. Vera died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center.
They married
on Feb. 14, 1996, in Plainview.
Wyndle was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Leonard. He attended Leonard schools. He moved to Plainview in 1942 and worked on a farm in Providence. He worked for the city of Plainview and for Rose Hill cemetery in Tulia and Plainview cemetery. He retired in 1994. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Vera was born Sept. 7, 1915, in McIntosh County, Okla. She had married
James L. Yelton on April 11, 1933, in Claude. He died May 29, 1976. She graduated from Claude High School. She was a Sunday school teacher in Claude, and she played piano. She was a waitress at the Hilton Hotel in Amarillo. She moved to Roswell, N.M. in 1953 and managed the Kentucky Fried Chicken. She owned a restaurant in Roswell. She moved to Plainview in 1974, and she worked as a cashier at the United grocery store. She began working for the Salvation Army in 1987. She was active in RSVP and Faith Baptist Church, where she was a member.
Wyndle's survivors include a stepdaughter, Sylvia Ivey of Camptonville, Calif.; two stepsons, Preston "Larry" Yelton of Hot Springs, Ark., and Jack Yelton of Post Falls, Idaho; a sister, Alma Bailey of Plainview; 11 step grandchildren; five great-step grandchildren; and a great-great-step grandchild.
Vera's survivors include a daughter, Sylvia Ivey; two sons, Preston "Larry" Yelton and Jack Yelton; a sister, Ada Mayes of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Hattie Butler

She died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born Nov. 6, 1916, at Wade, Okla. She married
Joseph Herbert "Hub" Butler on Aug. 17, 1933, at Hugo, Okla. They moved to Anton in 1934. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and First Baptist Church in Anton. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 12, 1985, and by two sons, Granville and Lloyd.
Survivors include five daughters, Ula Mae Melton of Anton, Flordell Parker of Anton, Geneva Davis of Roswell, N.M., Lynda Weige of Anton, and Shirley Goen of Shallowater; a brother, J.D. Freeman of Causey, N.M.; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Peter Yurochko
Services for Peter Yurochko, 63, of Lubbock will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park with Lester Dunn, past commander of Disabled American Veterans Post 44, officiating.
Services are under direction of Chapel of Angels Funeral Home.
Yurochko died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 8, 1935, in Bayonne, N.J. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Reynolds Metal Co. after 23 years. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include a brother, Bill of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a sister, Marie J. Davis of Phoenix, Ariz.
The family suggests memorials to the Disabled American Veterans Post 44 of Lubbock.
Emme Lide
Services for Emme Lide, 81, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Abbey Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home with Lee Towns officiating.
She died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in the Lubbock Hospitality House.
She was born July 2, 1917, in Harlingen. She married
Elmer Lide in 1938, in Brownfield. She graduated from Lubbock High School and attended Texas Tech and Draughon's Business College. She worked for Adair Music Co. and Sam Baker Music Co.
Survivors include her husband; and a daughter, Beth Bartley of Lubbock.
The family suggests memorials to the Lubbock Children's Home or South Plains Food Bank.
Jose Flores
ANDREWS (Special) Services for Jose M. Flores, 36, of Andrews will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernard Gully, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Andrews North cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.
He died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 29, 1962, in Rio Grande City. He had lived in Andrews for most of his life. He was state wrestling champion at American Falls High School in Idaho, in 1976. He had worked for Ventrcek Contractors in Andrews. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Survivors include his parents, Alex and Adela Arizpe of Andrews; and two sisters, Narsedalia Cruz of Andrews and Nora Zavala of Abilene.

LITTLEFIELD - Services for Carl Thompson Jr., 47, of Spade will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Trinity Fellowship Church in Lubbock with the Rev. Larry Harvey, pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church in Littlefield, officiating and the Rev. Skip Chase, pastor, assisting.
Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Park under the direction of Hammons Funeral Home.
Thompson died Monday, Feb. 16, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born Feb. 3, 1952, at Littlefield. He married
Teri Stinson Beamer on Nov. 11, 1994, at Lubbock. He was a member of the New Horizon Emmas Community in Littlefield. He had farmed in the Spade area for many years and was a life long resident of Spade. He was a member of the Trinity Fellowship Church in Lubbock and in Littlefield.
Survivors include his wife; his parents, Carl and Wanda Thompson of Littlefield; a daughter, Lindi Beth Thompson of Brownwood; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Beamer of Lubbock and Sara H. Beamer of Spade; two sisters, Bonnie Morris and Cindy Jordan, both of Lubbock.
The family requests memorial to the Amherst Retreat Center.
