Jane Bundock

Born in Gouldbusk, Coleman County, the sixth of eight siblings to Dora Candace and Phillip David Kenley, she is survived by three siblings, Sybil Earlene Hollis of Houston, Thomas Glen Kenley of Sulphur Springs, and Bonnie Nell Cominsky of Overton.

Jane Bundock was preceded in death by her first husband, Col. Raymond L.

Cobb, who was killed in action in WW II, and by H. R. Bundock, her husband of 34 years, who died in 1994.

She is survived by the following children: Janice Cobb Lundy and husband Michael, R. Wayne Cobb and wife Charlotte, Don W. Bundock and wife Ginger, Mary Elaine Carrillo and husband Michael, Jim and Grace Lipps and Arnold Lipps. She had twelve beloved grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bundock taught school in Brownwood, Coleman and at the Lubbock Public Schools for many years and after retirement, trained through the Scottish Rite programs and taught persons with dyslexia. After moving to Lubbock in 1956 from Coleman, she was a member of Second Baptist Church for 46 years and was selected to serve as a deacon in that congregation.

In 2003, she moved to Kerrville to live with her daughter and son-in-law and joined St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She continued to love to read and study and to stay in contact with friends via letter-writing and telephone.

Memorials or remembrances may be made to Kerrville chapter of Habitat for Humanity, to Second Baptist Church, Lubbock or to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Kerrville.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning, April 3, 2008, at Second Baptist Church in Lubbock. Interment will be at 10 a.m. at the City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 -7 p.m. at the funeral home.

David Pop Frizzell

David Bertrand Frizzell, 68, of Lockney, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008, at his residence in Lockney.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Lockney, with Chad Frizzell, minister, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Lockney.

He was born July 31, 1939, in the Lone Star community, to Jack and Lucille Frizzell. David married Patricia Anne Crisp in 1958.

David farmed for 29 years and was the owner of TALA Kennels for 15 years where he was a well known professional dog trainer and guide.

He was preceded in death by wife, Pat in March of 2000, and son, David Cass in 1967.

He is survived by one son, Chad Frizzell of Amarillo; two daughters, Cindy Cotham and Julie Dorman, both of Lockney; mother, Lucille Frizzell of Lockney; and five grandchildren.

Family will greet friends at Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Lockney on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, from 6-8 p.m.

The family suggest memorials be made to Lockney Athletic Boosters, c/o Box 71, Lockney, TX 79241.

David Cain

William David Cain, 62, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2008, at his residence with his family by his side. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008, at First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

David was born to Maurice and Nadine Cain on Nov. 10, 1945 in Brownfield. He graduated from Ropes High School in 1964 and from Texas Tech with a BBA degree in Accounting in 1969. He was an officer in the U.S. Air Force until 1972. David began working for the Texas State Comptroller in 1973, serving in both Lubbock and Austin. While in Austin he met Alynn Jones and they were married on Feb. 14, 1975. He retired from working for the State of Texas in 1998 and then founded Texas Auto Company.

He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Lubbock for 25 years. He served there as a preschool teacher and an usher for over 20 years. He was also a member of the Lubbock Downtown Bible Class.

David is survived by his wife of 33 years, Alynn Cain; his son, Chad Cain and wife Meredith of Pasadena, Calif.; his daughter, Cary Cain of Lubbock; his parents, Maurice and Nadine Cain of Ropesville; his sister, Frances Norris of Lubbock; his sister, Helen Crossland of Waco; his brother, Harlan Cain of Novato, Calif.; and his two granddaughters, Abby and Sophie Cain of Pasadena, Calif.

Memorials may be made to the Lubbock Downtown Bible Class, c/o First Baptist Church, 2201 Broadway Avenue, Lubbock, TX 79401.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at Sanders Funeral Home.

Charley Turnbow Jr.

Services for Charley Turnbow Jr., 90, of Lubbock will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Branon Funeral Home Chapel, with Joe Woodrum officiating. Burial will be in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.

Charley died on March 30, 2008.

He was born on Aug. 23, 1917, in Thurber, to Charley and Nancy Turnbow. He was a life long farmer who loved his family and was very well liked. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Phoenix Home Care of Lubbock.

Survivors include: sister, Ellen Sansom of Lubbock; nieces, Nancy Swafford and husband Jerry of Lamesa, Linda Lee and husband Dan of Shallowater, Sherry Turinsky and husband Al of Honey Grove, Vicki Lishman of Lubbock, Penny Crump of Dallas, Karen Jones of Dallas, and Janice Voight of Lubbock; nephew, Charles Turnbow of Carlsbad, N.M.; great-nieces, Melissa Hamilton and husband William of Winslow, Ariz., Nannette Sherman of Lubbock, Tara Gonzales and husband Mingo of Lubbock, and Shelley North of Plano; great-nephews, Shanon Swafford and wife Kace of Coppell, Cody Swafford and wife Tracye of Lamesa, Jason Shaw and wife Jeanine of Kansas City, Kan.; and 11 great-great nieces and nephews.

La'Rihya Neaveh Cerna

La'Rihya Neaveh Cerna, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Covenant. She was born March 26, 2008, to Ashate Price and Christopher Cerna. She is survived by her parents; her sister, Li'Querya Cerna; grandparents, Carmen and Abel Pauda, Tonia and DeMorris Tryon; aunts, Angel McNeal and Shantaderia Ross; and uncle, DeModrick Pinkard.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Peaceful Garden cemetery, under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.

Lynn Patterson

Lynn Patterson, 56, died at his Fort Worth home March 28. Patterson was born in Dumas in 1952 and moved with his family to Lubbock in 1956. He was active in the youth group at the Sunset Church of Christ and graduated from Lubbock Christian High School in 1970. He was inducted into the Army in the same year.

Patterson served the Army three years including two in Germany. Returning to Lubbock, he began working for United Grocery Stores and reached management for United at their former 19th and Quaker location. He later moved to Canyon as manager for Taylor and Sons.

Following his employment with Taylor, Patterson became a self-employed representative of grocery-related items. He later managed a team that redesigned CVS pharmacies across the nation following their buyout of Eckerd. At the time of his death, he was a manager for Dollar General Stores.

Lynn is survived by his high school sweetheart, the former Debbie Hoover whom he married on May 2, 1992. He is survived by a son, Matt Patterson and daughter Shanna Smith both of Amarillo and two step-daughters, Sandy Valentino and Kimberly Cruthers, and their children, all of the DFW area.

He is also survived by a father and mother, Fred and Lois Patterson of Lubbock; a sister, Lea Ann Hall, of Tuttle, Okla.; a brother, Philip, of Edmond; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Park Row Church of Christ, 915 W. Park Row Drive in Arlington.

Mary Sue Clark

Mary Sue Clark, 79, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Covenant. She was born September 23, 1928. She was employed at the Lubbock Independent School District as a school nurse where she ultimately retired. She is survived by one son, Jackie L. Clark of Lubbock; two daughters, Cheryl A. Clark of Mesa, Ariz. and Kimberly S. Clark of Lubbock; six grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at St. Elizabeth's University Parish. Burial will follow at Peaceful Garden cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.

Family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.

Susan Peterson

Memorial services for Susan Kay Bannon Peterson, 61, of Lubbock, will be at 2 p.m. April 1, 2008, at Lakeridge Baptist Church, with Reverend Merle Fulmer officiating and Brother Wayne Miller assisting.

She died Mar. 29th. She was born May 12, 1946. She married April 16, 1966. The joy of her life was her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed painting ceramics, creating floral arrangements, fishing and camping. Survivors include: husband, Stephen E. Peterson of Lubbock; sons, Steve A. Klienhaus of Lubbock and Chris (Tex) Peterson of Fresno, Calif.; brother, Jim Bannon of Edmond, Okla.; sister, Jeanette Norris of Austin; three grandchildren and numerous adopted children and grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Lakeridge Baptist Church. Family will receive friends at anytime, 8011 Clinton Ave.

Primo Trevino

Rosary for Primo Trevino, 66, of Lubbock will be 7 p.m. today and Wednesday at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Andres Mendosa officiating. Burial will be at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Primo passed away on Sunday. He was born on June 9, 1941, in Rosebud, to the late Bernabe and Castula Trevino. He married Jovita Cobbrubio on Oct. 20, 1980 in Lubbock. He had owned and operated Trevinos Demolition and Construction. He was a Catholic and a life long resident of Lubbock.

Survivors include his wife of Lubbock; a son, David Trevino of Lubbock; a daughter, Lisa Barrera of Lubbock; two sisters, Isabel Torres and Ester Trevino, both of Lubbock; and four grandchildren.

Raul Alvarez Cavazos

Funeral services for Raul Alvarez Cavazos, 65, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with Father Martin Pi?a officiating.

Divine mercy chaplet recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, followed by rosary at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will be at City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels. He died on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Covenant Medical Center. He was born on Dec. 29, 1942 in San Marcos. He married Janie Mora Cavazos on April 2, 1971, in Lubbock. She died on Nov. 19, 2002.

Mr. Cavazos was a Veteran of United States Army. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus and worked for Becknell Wholesale Co. for 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Cavazos, and two sisters, Carmen and Lupe Cavazos.

Survivors include his daughter, Sandy (Joey) Cisneros of Lubbock; son, Rudy Cavazos (Luciana Hernandez) of Lubbock; a brother, Robert Cavazos, and sister, Adelle Neel, both of Kyle; and three grandchildren, Karyzza Cavazos, Jacob and Jonathan Cisneros.
