Agnes Lee Gentry Hutchins
Agnes Lee Gentry Hutchins departed this world March 21, 2008 and took up permanent residence in Heaven. Lee was a devout Christian from an early age and her life was a living testament to God's commandment to "Love One Another". Lee was a member of the Church of the Harvest in Lubbock, Texas, for many years before moving to Oklahoma City and in recent years attended Destiny Christian Church in Del City, Okla.
She was a Nurse for 50 years, retiring at the young age of 72, and as a public servant she cared for hundreds of family, friends, and strangers who became friends. In 1973, she received a letter of accommodation from the Texas State Senate recognizing her professional skills and gentle touch.
Lee was born Aug. 8, 1929, in Troup, Texas, to Ernest and Lillie Mae Gentry, both of whom have preceded her in death. In 1973, Lee earned her pilot's license. She married
Nathaniel Hutchins, the love of her life, that same year and together, they flew many miles, traveled many places and touched many lives, always sharing their love of Jesus Christ with everyone they met. Their journeys together took them to Old Mexico, Costa Rica, Hawaii, and London, England. They lived and loved more in their 32 years together than most people do in an entire lifetime.
Lee is preceded in death by her husband Nathaniel Hutchins; step-son Rusty Hutchins; her father Ernest Gentry and mother Lillie Mae Gentry VanArsdale. She is survived by her daughter Linda Barry and husband Bee of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughter Brenda Berry and husband David of Purcell, Okla.; son Gary Boling and wife Terry of El Reno, Okla.; sisters Marie Tucker and husband C.L. of Plano, Texas, June Kurilec and husband Gregory of Weatherford, Texas, Mary Caudill and husband Ron of Hastings, Okla., Dessie Wilson of Troup, Texas; five grandchildren, Sharell Cowan, Jamie Taylor, Chris Barry, Nathan Barry, and Danielle Boling; four great grandchildren, Ashley Emmick, Dylan Emmick, Jada Barry and Kirah Anne Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
Mother, now you can hold hands with Papa, and walk through the fields of flowers in God's valley, and have an eternal peace that you both deserve. We will miss you, as we do Papa, but knowing that you are together again makes everything alright.
The family of Lee Hutchins would like to thank the staff of Hospice Quality Care of Midwest City, Okla., the staff of Valir Rehab Hospital of Oklahoma City, Okla., and the staff of Epworth Villa Skilled Nursing of Oklahoma City, Okla., for the excellent and compassionate care rendered to our loved one during her final days with us.
