METAIRIE, La. — Services for Marvin Edward "Eddie" Grice, 52, of Metairie were held Thursday at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home of Metairie.
He died Monday, July 16, 2001.
He was born Sept. 9, 1948, in Galveston and was raised in Odessa. He was a graduate of Odessa Permian High School and Texas Tech, where he earned his doctorate. He was a chemistry professor at Tech and an associate professor of chemistry at University of New Orleans. He married
Chris Horvath on March 20, 1982, in Lubbock, where he lived from 1981 to 1989. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam, Korea and Germany, which was his last overseas assignment. He was a member of the American Chemical Association and the Tech Ex-Teachers Association. He had lived in Metairie for the last 14 years.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Julia Grice and Kim Stevens, both of Metairie, and Michelle Horvath of Lubbock; two brothers, Terry of Albuquerque, N.M., and Tom of Dallas; a sister, Cynthia of Hondo; and two grandchildren.
Ernest Brockman
NAZARETH — Services for Ernest G. Brockman, 85, of Nazareth will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth with the Rev. John Hickley officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Family cemetery under the direction of Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Dimmitt.
He died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002.
He was born Oct. 3, 1916, in Nazareth. He married
Florine Wilhelm on April 4, 1945, in Nazareth. She died Dec. 8, 2000. He has a lifelong resident of Nazareth.
He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Catholic Church. He was co-founder of the Nazareth American Legion, a member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the Runningwater Draw conservation board and ASCS board.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Melcher of Austin and Ladonna Miller of Houston; four sons, Richard of Liberty, S.C., Hal of Washington, D.C., Kerry Joe of Austin and Mark of Houston; a sister, Martha Woods of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, Vic of Midland; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family suggest memorials to Hospice Cares, 213 West Etter St., Dimmitt, TX 79027.
The family will receive friends from noon until service time Friday in the CCD building.
Dr. Ted T. Pridmore
Dr. Ted T. Pridmore of Lubbock passed after a long illness on April 4, 2008, at the age of 70 years. He was born on Jan. 10, 1938, in Lubbock, to Joe and Beulah Pridmore. In 1956, he graduated from Tahoka High School. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Texas Tech University in 1961. Shortly thereafter, on July 22, 1961, Dr. Pridmore married
his high school sweetheart, Jerrie. They moved to Dallas, where he went to the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School. He was awarded his M.D. in 1965.
Dr. Pridmore completed a rotating internship at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Va. from 1965-1966. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War on the USN Rose as its Chief Medical Officer from 1966-1967. He returned to Portsmouth to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at the Naval Hospital from 1967-1970. In 1969, during his tenure at Portsmouth, he published "Pathogenesis of Edema" in the Portsmouth Naval Hospital Publication. Dr. Pridmore was awarded the Radioisotope Fellowship at the Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Md. in 1970. He served as the Chief Medical Officer in the 8th Naval District in Corpus Christi from 1970-1971.
On Dec. 7, 1971, Dr. Pridmore became Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. From 1972-1995, he ran his private practice in internal medicine in Lubbock. From 1995 until 2000, he practiced as a part of the Internal Medicine Methodist Medical Group. Following his retirement from private practice in 2001, he gave back to the community by working at the Presbyterian Clinic in Lubbock until he took a medical leave of absence in early 2005.
After his retirement, he enjoyed his ranch and reading. He was a dedicated physician, making his family and his patients his life. His practice included patients from West Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. He enjoyed spending time with his family and two grandchildren. He loved Tahoka where he grew up, returning often for class and athletic reunions.
As an active member of the community, Dr. Pridmore was involved in many organizations. He was a member of the Lubbock-Crosby-Garza County Medical Society, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians. He served on multiple boards and was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Pridmore was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jerrie; daughter, Angie Pridmore of Lubbock; son, Tim Pridmore and wife Melissa of Lubbock; brother, Sam Pridmore and wife Betsy of Tahoka; sister, Bennie Carter and husband Duane of Tahoka; two grandchildren, Tyler Pridmore and Claudia Pridmore; step-mother, Dee Pridmore; multiple nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Memorial Services will be held at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lubbock at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2008, with Dr. Gordon Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the church after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Achievement and Rewards for College Scientists Foundation, Inc. (ARCS), at P.O. Box 94206, Lubbock, Texas 79493, or to one's favorite charity.
Arrangements are under the personal care of White Funeral Home of Lubbock.
Owen Lindsey (Tom) Craighead
Owen Lindsey (Tom) Craighead, age 74, loving and devoted husband of Janice Lee Craighead, passed on March 28, 2008, at the home of son, Thomas, and daughter in-law, Susan, in Jacksonville, Fla., after a brief battle with cancer. Mr. Craighead is survived by wife, Janice of Lubbock; brother, Douglas Craighead of Hillsboro, N.H.; daughter, Carol Yugovich of Lubbock; son, Thomas Craighead of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Lauren Maxwell of Pawling, N.Y.; son, William Craighead of Port Townsend, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He will be sorely missed. Mr. Craighead was preceded in death by his father, Robert; mother, Alice; and brother, Robert. Owen, or Tom as he liked to be called, was born in his family home in Cross River, N.Y. in 1934. He attended grammar school in the schoolhouse across the street from his home in Cross River (now the Cyrus Russell Community House) and graduated from Katonah High School in 1952. After High School, Tom entered the Army and served with the 11th Airborne Division until discharge in 1955. While still in the service, Tom married
his High School Sweetheart Janice Rankin in 1954. After discharge, Tom worked for the Phone Company in Manhattan while Skydiving on the weekends. Tom is considered a pioneer in the sport of Skydiving by many, and it was one of his great passions. In 1974, Tom bought the family business in Cross River and moved his family into the home in which he was born. Tom was instrumental in the construction of the LVAC Headquarters building in Cross River and was a lifetime member of the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corp., the South Salem Fire Dept., and Lions International. Tom and Janice retired to Saugerties, N.Y. in 1989 then moved to Lubbock in 1999 where he resided until his death. Tom was active in the Saugerties Lions Club, South Plains Lions Club and Lubbock Habitat for Humanity. In later years, his greatest joy was growing his beard long and playing Santa Claus. He delivered gifts with other members of the South Plains Lions to under-privileged children throughout Lubbock.
Tom believed in God, Family and Volunteerism, and backed those beliefs with action. May he rest in Peace.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at First Christian Church, 2323 Broadway Ave.
Doris Ann Chapman
Services for Doris Ann Wall Chapman, 89, of Lubbock and Highland Village, Texas, will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Rest-haven cemetery, Mausoleum Chapel, with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park. Mrs. Chapman died of natural causes. She was born to Jocie Bell Warren and Otha Davis Wall in Hewitt, Texas, and subsequently moved to Lubbock in 1955. She married
Lloyd Mace Chapman, Jr., on Dec. 24, 1937 in Hewitt. She and Lloyd were members of Forrest Heights United Methodist and later St. Luke's United Methodist Church where she taught Adult Sunday School. She was secretary for the Lubbock Independent School System as well as a member of the Lubbock Women's Club Bridge Group. She had a deep love for God, family and friends. She was one of seven children. At her death, she had been residing for the last six years in the home of her son, Davis Mace Chapman. Doris is preceded in death by her husband; her Mother and Father; her brother, Jack Warren Wall; and her sisters, Ardath Jeanette Wall Denham and Joan Wall Parsons. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by her children, Davis Mace Chapman and Patricia Ann Chapman Reed; her son-in-law, David Allen Reed; and surviving sisters, Irene Jocie Wall Peterson, Charlie Beth Wall Young and Mary Lou Wall Mitchell; her grandchildren: granddaughter, Melanie Lane Reed Jensen, and her husband, Brian Christian Jensen, grandson, David Lee Reed; and great-grandchildren, Haley Lane Jensen and Cooper Christian Jensen. Thelma Sanders
Thelma Sanders was born September 24, 1923 in Girard, TX. She was the daughter of Marvin and Beulah Overfelt. She was raised in Girard and graduated from Girard High School. She moved to Lubbock to attend the West Texas Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1944. She served in the Nurse Corps of the U.S. Navy 1945-1946. She married
Loyd Sanders, Sr. December 22, 1947 in Clovis, NM.
In her early years, she was a wife, homemaker and "mom" to her two sons, nurse and caregiver to family and friends. In her later years, after attentively caring for Loyd, Sr., she was an active partner in the family business, Sanders Funeral Home where she continued helping others in need.
She was a member of the Lubbock Womenıs Club, Lubbock Knife and Fork Club, Daughters of the Pioneers, First Baptist Church and the Sojourners Sunday School Class.
Her husband preceded her in death on November 14, 1991 and a sister, Loice Fulsom, on August 8, 1988.
Thelma passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at her residence with her family by her side.
Survivors include her sons, Dwight and wife, Gwen; Loyd, Jr., all of Lubbock; four sisters, Essie Overfelt, Lena Overfelt, Johnnie Drenner and Wilma Martin and husband, Fred, all of Lubbock; a granddaughter, Jana Sanders of Lubbock.
Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2002 in the First Baptist Church with the Reverend John Ballard officiating.
Internment will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
The Staff of Sanders Funeral Home will serve as pallbearers.

Willie Isabelle Dunlap Foust
Willie Isabelle Dunlap Foust was born Nov. 19, 1915, to D.J. Dunlap and Josie Reynolds Dunlap, in Wilbarger County. She was a waitress and she worked the majority of her life.
She passed away April 5, 2008, in Lubbock, after a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. April 14, 2008 at the City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.
Survivors include: daughter, Donna Foust; step-daughter, Jo Curry; one granddaughter; three grandchildren; one sister, Hattie Hood of Levelland; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Opal Barry, Agnes Grimes, and Hazel Dooley; one brother, David Andrew Dunlap.
Kenneth Goughnour
Kenneth "Kenco" Elbert Goughnour, 70, died Nov. 18, 1999.
He was born July 12, 1929, in Fort Worth. He graduated from Central High School in Fort Worth.
He was a grain broker, a member of Hillcrest Country Club, a licensed pilot and served in the Naval Reserve.
Survivors include two sons, Mark and David; and one step-daughter, Jacqueline Benton.
