She was born July 1, 1923, in Chillicothe. She graduated from Silverton High School in 1942. She attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview. She married
Gaines C. "Ted" Pitts on Dec. 24, 1946, in South Plains. She worked in a real estate loan office and was a homemaker. She was a Baptist. She moved to Lubbock from Plainview in 1945.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Steve of Lubbock and Larry of Dallas; a brother, Travis Young of Floydada; five sisters, Ruby Brannon of Silverton, Velma L. McKee of Summerville, S.C., Mary Shurbet of Floydada, Donnie Meriwether of Lockney and Peggy Young of Lubbock.

Gene Gauny. He died May 7, 1962. She married
T.J. Short. He died in 1987. She moved to Lubbock from Wills point in 1987. A daughter, Pauline Smith, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Reba Rice of Lubbock and Dorothy Roberts of Irving; a sister, Alma Williams of Post; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
J'Anna Sisson
Services for J'Anna Lynn Sisson, 36, of Wolfforth will be at 11 a.m. Monday in South Plains Christian Fellowship Church with the Rev. Hugh Harris officiating.

Sisson died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 2, 1963, in Lubbock. She graduated salutatorian from Roosevelt High School in 1981. She graduated from Texas Tech with a bachelor's degree. She worked for D&L; Masonry. In 1994, she started working with the Lubbock County District Clerk's Office. She moved to Wolfforth from Lubbock in 1981. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her parents, Edwin Aaron and Helen Sisson of Wolfforth; a sister, Debra Sisson of Wolfforth; two brothers, Michael Sisson of Wolfforth and Roger Sisson of Lubbock; and her maternal grandmother, Marie Clark of Luling.

Robert Bitsche on Jan. 17, 1953, in Oklahoma City. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Oklahoma City. She was a volunteer at Methodist Hospital, and she worked with several Mother's Day Out programs. She was a member of Christ the King Cathedral Parish. She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Bitsche, and a brother, Larry Fried.

She was born May 17, 1902, in Detroit. She married
Virgil Roy Cranford on April 10, 1925, in Santa Anna, Calif. He preceded her in death. She attended school in Blossom and Boswell, Okla. She graduated from the Sanitarium of Paris School of Nursing. She was a nurse in Los Angeles, Fort Worth and Paris, Texas, until retiring and moving to Oklahoma City. She moved to Lubbock in May 1997. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Benna Frances Gordon of Lubbock and Virginia Ann Vann of Oklahoma City; a sister, Artilia Mayfield of Everman; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Raymond Foy on Feb. 8, 1939, in Dallas. He died Oct. 24, 1976. She was a Baptist. She was the food service director/supervisor for the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital for 28 years. She moved to Ralls from Henderson in 1939.
Survivors include four daughters, Joan Dewbre of Lubbock, Linda Bales of Crosbyton, Nancy Upchurch of Ralls and Jean Garringer of Moody; two sisters, Necil McClain of Henderson and Fay Oca of Detroit, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Yvonne Kern
FLOYDADA - Yvonne Hale Kern, 76, of Rochester, Mich., died Feb. 26, 1999, at her residence. Memorial services will be at a later date.
She was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Floydada. She graduated from Floydada High School in 1939 and Draughon's Business College in Lubbock. She married
Paul "Pete" Kern on Sept. 1, 1945, in Floydada. They moved to Michigan in 1946 from Kansas. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, John of Las Vegas, Nev., and Paul of Middleburg, Va.; three daughters, Nancy Greenstein of Waterford, Mich., Martha Ross of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Mary Vitale of Middleburg, Va.; two brothers, John Hale of Abernathy and Sammy Hale of Floydada; three sisters, Latane Roberson of Petersburg, Margaret Morris of Temple and Mona Rainer of San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Tollie Faver

Faver died Friday, May 7, 1999, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 11, 1895, in Light. He married
Margaret Ann Werner on July 22, 1922, in Snyder. She died in 1966. He served during World War I. He was a carpenter, and he worked for the Snyder Independent School System. He was a member of the American Legion. He was a Presbyterian. A daughter, Charlotte Pitner, died in April 1983.
Survivors include a son, Arel "Red" of Snyder; a daughter, Wernette Smith of Snyder; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nine great-step grandchildren; and 14 great-great-step grandchildren.
Viewing will be at the funeral home until noon Monday.
Melva Andrews-Lee
ODESSA - Services for Melva Jeanene Andrews-Lee, 60, of Bronte were Tuesday in First Assembly of God Church in Odessa with the Revs. David Crispin and Paul Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.
She died Feb. 6, 1999, in Lubbock.
She was born May 13, 1938, in Kermit. She graduated from Odessa High School and Odessa College, graduating cum laude in 1979. She attended the University of Texas at the Permian Basin and Tarrant County Junior College, and she received a master's degree at Wayland Baptist University, graduating cum laude in 1990. She was a professor at Wayland Baptist University and interim administrator for IHS Nursing Home in Lubbock. She established and served as administrator of several nursing homes in West Texas.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lubbock, and she was a member and officer of the Eastern Star of Bronte, the Sorosis Federated Club, Women's Christian Club and Female Executive Association. She was an officer of Phi Beta Lambda at Wayland Baptist University, and she was president of the Women's Ministries of the Assemblies of God Churches for 10 years. A son, Michael Trey Andrews, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Myrl Hester Hamilton and Tyra Hamilton of Lubbock; her husband, M. Royce Lee of Bronte; a daughter, Kathy Crispin of Alamogordo, N.M.; a son, Harvey Andrews Jr. of San Angelo; a brother, Jack Hester of Santa Maria, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
John Koon

Koon died Thursday, May 6, 1999, in Midland.
He was born Dec. 2, 1920, in Hallsville. He moved to Colorado City in 1985. He was a retired field gauger for Shell Oil Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Blythe of Lubbock, Lana Koon of Odessa and Janie Dyer of Midland; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Faye Moore of Midland.
