Tanner Bill Sue
Tanner Bill Sue, 17, of Floydada, passed from this earth on April 20, 2008, in Floydada.
Tanner was born on May 30, 1990, in Lubbock, to Sheldon and Atha (Blake) Sue. Tanner attended Floydada schools. He was a member of Floydada athletics, including football, track, and power lifting. He was NHS President and a member of FFA. He was the manager of the Whirlwind basketball team for three years. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Floydada.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Genet Blake, and grandfather, the Rev. Fred D. Blake.
Tanner is survived by his parents, Sheldon and Atha Sue of Floydada; a brother, Taylor Sue of Floydada; grandparents, Johnny Bill and Margie Sue of Floydada; and a host of family and friends.
Tanner was full of life. He enjoyed water sports and adventure of all types. He loved making everyone laugh and was recently named class clown of the 2008 FHS Senior Class.
Family will greet friends at the First Baptist Church Parlor in Floydada on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. C.V. Blake of Abilene and the Rev. Anthony D. Sisemore officiating. Burial will follow at the Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada.

Tina Pollard
Service for Tina Pollard, 50, of Lubbock, will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Luke's United Methodist, with Will Cotton officiating.
She died on April 10, 2006. She was born March 10, 1956 in Abilene to William H. and Joan Howk Shelby. She worked at the Lubbock Avalanche Journal for ten years, West Texas Relay, and Cingular Wireless. She was a graduate of Coronado High School. Tina loved arts and crafts, children, and animals.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Joan Shelby.
Survivors include one daughter, Robin Pollard; father, Bill Shelby; three sisters, Sylvia Covington and Joanna Vail of Lubbock, and Linda Schweickert of Colorado; one brother, Paul Shelby of Lubbock; three nieces, one nephew, four great nephews, and two great nieces.

Barbara Joan Rose
Service for Barbara (Bobbie) Joan Rose, of Lubbock, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, in the W.W. Rix Chapel with the Rev. Howard McCann officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Rose died Thursday, April 17, 2008 in Lubbock. She was born Jan.15, 1933, in Tulsa, Okla.
She graduated from Byrd High School in Shreveport, La. She was a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church. She married
I.L. (Bert) Rose, Sr. on May 3, 1957 in Dallas. She was preceded in death by a son, I.L. (Bert) Rose, Jr. She is survived by her husband, I.L. (Bert) Rose, Sr., of Lubbock; a daughter, Paula Martin, of Ft. Worth; a son, George Rose, of Houston; and two step children, Al Rose, of Allen, Texas, and Theresa Brusky, of Friendship, Wis.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Mike Pruitt
Celebration of life services for Mike Pruitt, 56, of Lubbock will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel, with Dr. Ken Horn officiating. Robert Mike Pruitt was born Nov. 30, 1951, in Lubbock, to J.W. and Naomi (Holt) Pruitt. Mike served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his father, J.W. Pruitt.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Naomi Pruitt Fleming and husband James of Friendswood; daughter, Aaron Pruitt of Lubbock; step-daughter, Angie Goen of Lubbock; grandchildren, Devin Lewis, Bo Duffy, Jade, Sydney, Raemi and Kamryn Goen; brothers, Kenneth Pruitt of Lubbock, Brian Fleming of Seattle, Wash.; step-brothers, Steve Fleming of Whitewright, Randy Fleming of Richardson; and a sister, Melonie Klugh of Tahlequah. Sam Lindsey
Sam Lindsey, 61, of Shallowater, passed away peacefully at home on April 12, 2008. A celebration of life service is planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. Darrell Boswell and Ealy Brock will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Samuel Ray Lindsey was born Jan. 13, 1947, in Lubbock, to K. R. and Eugenia (Young) Lindsey. He went to school in Shallowater and attended Abilene Christian College. Sam and Libby Baird were married
on July 20, 1979 in Lubbock.
Sam was a farmer and a marketing representative for RCIS. He loved his job, playing golf, and attending the Lady Raiders games. His greatest joys were driving his grandchildren around the farm, showing them the crops, relaxing in the back yard watching birds, and spending time fishing. He was a calm and simple man, who aspired to be a success in all of life's experiences. He was affectionately known as the gadget man, ' bringing home new electronics almost every day.
Sam is survived by his wife, Libby of Shallowater; son, Chad and wife Tammy Kirk of Shallowater; daughter, Michelle and her husband Justin Damron of Lubbock; grandchildren, Alyssa, Austin, Dakota, and Avery; his mother, Eugenia Lindsey of Lubbock; his sister, Linda Lindsey of Lubbock; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mikenna, and his father, K.R. Lindsey.

Norma Horst
Graveside services for Norma Horst, 87, of Lubbock, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Resthaven Memorial Park, with Rev. Mel Hooten officiating. Services are under the direction of Resthaven
Mrs. Horst passed away on April 12th.
She was born Nov. 15, 1920, in Hart, to Norman and Daisy Hooten Livesay and graduated from Vega High School. She married
Milton Carl Horst in Weatherford, Okla. on December 24, 1942. Milton preceded her in death in 1997. They raised their children in Lubbock and moved to Amarillo in 1971, returning to Lubbock in 1994. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Greg Horst and wife Kathy of Lubbock; a daughter, Beckie Zieschang and husband Glenn of Elgin; a brother, L.J. "Pat" Livesay and wife Eva Mae of Hereford; two nieces, Mary Ann Livesay and Patsy Sparkman, both of Hereford; two nephews, Lyle Livesay of Gladewater and Roland Livesay of Littlefield; and an aunt, Ethyl Hooten of Lubbock.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 5-7 p.m.

Marjorie Ann Brown
Marjorie Ann Brown, of Midland, passed away on Saturday, April 12, after a sudden illness.
She was born in Shelbyville, Ky., on Dec. 15, 1925, to Daniel James Jones and Ann Martin Fawkes. She was educated at Science Hill School for Girls in Shelbyville until she entered Shelbyville High School. Marjorie graduated cum laude with a Bachelors Degree in Biology/Premed from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., on June 7, 1948. She married
Jack L. Brown on June 12, 1948. Marjorie lived her entire adult life in Texas in Odessa, Lubbock, and Midland, where she has resided since 1970. She had humor, dignity and boundless love and will be sorely missed by the many that cherished her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel; her husband, Jack; and two sisters, Joyce Rodgers and Loyd Caudill.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Adele and her husband Steven Crow of Long Beach, Calif.; nephew, Paul Caudill of Shelbyville, Ky.; nieces, Ann Taft of Louisville, Ky. and Pat Winship of Mt. Tabor, N.J.; and a multitude of friends and loved ones across the country.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, with Reverend James Otterness officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Elder, George Erb, Keith Duesterhaus, Kolin Duesterhaus, Don Sutton and Lail Grant. Julia Ross
Julia Alberta Gilson Ross, 95, was born Sept. 5, 1912, in Rural, Limestone County, to RB and Rosie Gilson. She passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008.
Julia married
Tom Winford Ross on July 3, 1936. He preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1989. She is also preceded in death by eight brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by a son, Tommy Ross and wife Patsy; granddaughters, Jessica Douglas and husband Don, DaLana Williamson and husband Casey; grandson, Chad Buxkemper; two great-granddaughters, Sierra and Maya Douglas; and two great-grandsons, Cooper and Colton Williamson.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Roosevelt First Baptist Church, with Brother Bobby McGee officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
