Services for Edna Raye Walker, 84, of Lubbock, will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, under the direction of Ossie Curry Funeral Home of Lubbock. Burial will follow in Resthaven cemetery in Lubbock. She was a retired school teacher with LISD. She taught for 32 years. Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Ossie Curry Funeral Home.
Santos O. Flores
Funeral services for Santos O. Flores, 67, of Abernathy will be on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with Pastor Eddy Silva officiating.
Burial will be at Abernathy cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
She passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on Nov. 7, 1940 in Edroy, Texas. She married
Miguel G. Flores on Aug. 14, 1960 in Mathis, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her son Mike O. Flores and grandson Michael Flores.
Survivors include: her husband, Miguel G. Flores; daughters, Dolores F. Duran, Elizabeth F. Torres and Olga Flores Rozanski; grandchildren, Nicholas Duran, Denessa Duran, Adam Reese, Mikey Torres, Krystal Flores, Valerie Flores and Abram Flores; brothers, Epifanio Ortiz, Luis Ortiz and Ray Ortiz.
Mary Veneranda Duran
The recitation of the Rosary for Mary Veneranda Duran is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Lake Ridge Chapel, 82nd and Iola Ave, followed by gathering of family and friends to reminisce her seventy years of life. A Mass celebration is scheduled for 10 a.m. the following morning at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lubbock. A private committal service will be at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers' ceremonial room prior to her cremation. Mrs. Duran left to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 6, 2008.
Mary was born Oct. 17, 1937, in Tecolotito, N.M., Guadalupe County to the proud parents of Rumaldo and Feliciana Lucero. She married
Jesus "Jesse" Duran at the Sacred Heart Church in Littlefield on Nov. 10, 1956. The newlyweds moved to O'Donnell, and moved to County Line in 1960. Mary and Jesus moved to Abernathy from County Line in 1970, where she resided the remainder of her life.
Mrs. Duran was employed at Texas Tech University for thirty-three years in the custodial department as a supervisor. She earned several awards of recognition throughout her years at Texas Tech University.
Survivors include her spouse, Jesus "Jesse" Duran; their six children, Jesse Duran Jr. and spouse Diane, Dorothy Saucedo and spouse Roger, Mary Jane Lueras and spouse Joe, Leroy Duran, Sandra Lara and spouse Felipe, and Tammy Duran. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her siblings, Rumaldo Lucero and spouse Cordie, Estella Deleon and spouse Lupe, Andrea Gonzales and spouse Celestino, Rose Ortiz, Eddie Lucero and spouse Margie, Ernie Lucero and spouse Lucy, Floyd Lucero and Steve Lucero.
Betty Bruns
Church service for Betty Bruns, 80, of Lubbock, formerly of Muleshoe, is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday at Muleshoe Church of Christ, with Dr. Stacy Conner officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Bruns died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in Lubbock Heart Hospital.
She was born Feb. 26, 1928, in Curry County, N.M., to Benjamin Franklin and Mary Katherine (Gooch) Snell. She married
Jack Bruns in Clovis, N.M. on March 8, 1948. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1966. Mrs. Bruns moved to Lubbock in March 2007 from Muleshoe. She had been a resident of Muleshoe since 1948. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was an artist and enjoyed painting and playing piano. She had attended Clovis Business College.
Survivors include: Benny Fred Bruns of Abilene, Gail Bruns of Muleshoe, Bill Bruns and wife Moiselle of Lubbock, Jana St. Clair and husband Tommy of Lazbuddie; sisters-in-law, Louise Snell of Clovis and Ruth Briscoe of Muleshoe; brothers-in-law, Joe King of Clovis and C.W. (Chock) Bracken of Clovis; seven grandchildren, Chance, Jacie, Leah, Luke, Justin, Adam, and Cole; and nine great-grandchildren.

Don Morris
Services for Don Morris, 61, of Slaton will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, in Slaton's Westview Baptist Church. Naval military graveside honors will follow in Englewood cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service in Slaton.
Mr. Morris was born Nov. 9, 1946, in Levelland. He moved to Slaton in his youth and attended Slaton schools. Don served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad in 2005. On Jan. 24, 1970, in Slaton, Don married
Sandra Patterson. He was a member of the Westview Baptist Church and Brotherhood of Railway Employees.
Don's survivors include his wife, Sandra; son, Randy Morris; daughters, Dawn Lewis and Deborah Morris; mother, Virgie Emert; brother, Chris Morris; sisters, Melba Neeley and Charlotte Nichols; and nine grandchildren.

J. Frank Miller, III
J. Frank Miller, III will be remembered as a man whose life was deeply inspired by his Christian faith. A beloved son, husband, father, brother, and son-in-law; Frank was born Feb. 27, 1952 and passed away June 1, 2007. He was an accomplished businessman and civic leader, serving on the boards of several corporate, civic, charitable and church organizations. Frank was generous with his time and his resources, supporting numerous ministries. Frank was a graduate of Highland Park High School and earned a BA from Texas Tech University. Upon graduation, he returned to Dallas and married
his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Kay O'Dwyer. Kay and Frank were blessed with six wonderful children.
Frank was an ardent sports enthusiast. He was an avid golfer, having memberships at both Preston Trails and Dallas Country Club, and loved playing a round of golf with his friends and his children. Fly-fishing, spending time at his ranch, or attending professional sporting events with his family were some of his favorite pastimes. Frank was also a coach, a mentor and a teacher. Many times Frank could be found coaching one of his children's games, teaching one of them to putt or showing them how to fly-fish in Wyoming.
Professionally, Frank worked in the real estate industry for three decades. Frank served as JPI's Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of JPI Companies. Under his leadership JPI formed a strategic alliance with G.E. Capital Services, becoming one of the nation's leading luxury apartment companies. ìBuilderî magazine has consistently named JPI amongst the top three apartment builders in America.
In 2005 Frank was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Texas Tech University Systemís Board of Regents where he was recently named Chairman. Additionally, Frank served on various boards including The Urban Land Institute, the Dallas Citizenís Council and the Dallas Chamber of Commerce. He served as chairman of the Dallas Summer Musicals, as well as the St. Paul Fund for Advanced Heart and Lung Disease, which plans to raise $12 million to build and operate a world-class heart and lung medical facility in Dallas. He was a member of the Young Presidents Organization and the Real Estate Council, where he also served as a past chairman.
More than any external accomplishments, Frank will be remembered for his fervent commitment to the welfare of a large extended family, for his unqualified loyalty to his friendships, for his unfeigned warmth toward those with any needs, and most of all for his joyful love for Christ and the ministries Christ inspired.
Frank is preceded in death by his father, John Franklin Miller, Jr. and his father-in-law, Thomas A. OíDwyer. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Kay; their six children: John, Julia, Spence, Liza, Trevor and Patrick; his mother, Mary Virginia Miller; his sisters, Mary Caven Miller and Martha Elizabeth Miller; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ann and Hugh Blackwell, Mary and Tom OíDwyer, George O'Dwyer and his fiancÈ Ann Ashe, and Lisa and Bill OíDwyer; mother-in-law, Biddy OíDwyer; 11 nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and dear friends Graciela Campos and Bertha Dunson.
Pallbearers are Scott Caven, John Carpenter, Bill Dunlap, Ron Ingram, Hugh McClung, Ty Miller, Bobby Page, Frank Schubert, Raymond Smith. Honorary Pall Bearers are Richard Adkisson, Dave Henry, John OíConnor, Rick Owens, Bob Rowling, Skip Ryan, and Jeff Swope.
Frank and his family have been active members of Northwest Bible Church in Dallas, 8505 Douglas at Northwest Highway, where a memorial service and celebration of Frankís life will be held on Tuesday, June 5, at 12:30 p.m. A visitation will take place the previous night, Monday, June 4 from 6Ò 8 p.m. at Sparkman-Hillcrest, 7405 W. Hortencia Bermea
Services for Hortencia Maldonado Bermea, 62, of Friona will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Friona with Ed Sweeney officiating.
Burial will be in Garden of Memories cemetery in Menard under the direction of Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona.
She died Tuesday, June 11, 2002.
She was born Dec. 7, 1939, in Lampasas. She married
Edmund Bermea on Dec. 7, 1959, in Menard. She had lived in Friona since 1967 after moving from Menard. She attended St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Friona and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a son, Guadalupe, on July 13, 1961.
Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Theresa Mercado of Kileen and Lesa Bermea, Rachel Avalos and Erika Montana, all of Friona; two brothers, Joe Maldonado of Marble Falls and Guadalupe Maldonado of Fort Collins, Colo.; five sisters, Alice Castillo of Hereford, Ruth Gonzales of Fort Collins, Ninfa Shepherd of Santa Clara, Calif., Estella DeLeon of Camp Wood and Janie Maldonado of San Angelo; and eight grandchildren.

Tasha Enloe
Tasha Enloe, 41, of Amarillo died on Monday, May 26, 2008.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Services will also be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Amherst. Burial will be at Fairlawn cemetery in Amherst. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Tasha was born on June 22, 1966, in Amherst, to Carl Hugh and Reba Carol Enloe. She graduated from West Texas A&M; with her Bachelor's degree. She was an avid bike rider and was a breast cancer survivor. She also taught aerobics at Gold's Gym and was a computer programmer for CS Stars.
Survivors include her parents, Carl and Carol Enloe of Littlefield, and a sister, Missy Denton and husband Eric of Amarillo.

Charlie Hutchison
Long-time Lubbock resident, Charlie Hutchinson, died on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at the age of 49. Hutchinson graduated from Monterey High School and attended Texas Tech University. He was founder and President of Hutchinson Industries. A successful inventor, Charlie loved dogs, the Bahamas, and was an excellent marksman. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Hutchinson Knowles, of Lubbock; Tom Hutchinson, Jr., of Sedona, Ariz.; Sig Hutchinson, of Raleigh, N.C.; Jimmy Hutchinson, of Lubbock; and Starbuck, the wonder dog. He will be missed by friends and relatives whose lives he made interesting.
