Sherry Ann Wynne

Sherry Ann Wynne passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008, in Denison.

Sherry was born July 1, 1949, in Harlingen, the daughter of Lucian and Iline (Griffin) Wynne. She is survived by her sister, Judy Kincaid and husband, Gene; and brothers, Leland Wynne and Monty Wynne.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2008, in Fairview Chapel at Fairview cemetery in Denison.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.

Memorial Services for Charlie R. Long, 71, of Roaring Springs, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2008, at the Roaring Springs First Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Morris and Rev. Jim Ritter officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home of Matador. Mr. Long passed away June 17, 2008, at his residence. Charlie was the owner/operator for 45 years of Long Insurance Agency in Roaring Springs until his retirement this year. He was married to Nancy Gage on March 28, 1966, in Roaring Springs. Charlie had served as the city secretary for a number of years and is a former Mayor of Roaring Springs. He was active in community affairs and an avid golfer. Mr. Long was Treasurer of the First Baptist Church of Roaring Springs where he was a Deacon and has taught Sunday school classes for over 40 years.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Roaring Springs; two daughters, Jellene Timmins and husband Rick of Ackerly, and Janeile Eddleman and husband Blaine of Leander; one son, Jerry Long of Roaring Springs, three brothers, Carly PeeWee' Long of Waxahachie, Boyd Long of Roaring Springs, and Rodney Long of Roaring Springs; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and 14 nieces and nephews.

James Ray Jym Petty

James Ray "Jym" Petty of Lubbock departed this life on June 16, 2008, at the age of 36 years. He was born to James Thomas and Beverly Jan (Johnson) Petty on June 28, 1971, in Lubbock. Jym attended Plainview High School and graduated in 1990. He moved to Lubbock from Plainview in 1991. Jym worked for United Deli and Food Services. He attended Metropolitan Community Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, James and Beverly Jan Petty of Lubbock; one sister, Priscilla Lyn Kurtz and husband, Korey of Monroe, La.; one brother, John Andrew Petty and wife, Eliza of Lubbock; one niece, Chloe Skye; one nephew, Devin Ray; and maternal grandmother, Jo Johnson of Lubbock.

Formal visitation was held from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at White Funeral Home in Lubbock. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10 a.m., today, June 19, 2008, at White Memorial Chapel in Lubbock with Michael Park and Rev. Renae Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Terrace cemetery in Post.

Arrangements are under the personal care of White Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Winona Adair Williamson

Winona Adair Williamson, 73, of Littlefield, passed from this life Sunday, June 15, 2008, in Littlefield. She was born May 17, 1935, in Mineral Wells, to Gordon and Ethel Weathersbee.

Winona married James Adair in 1952. With him, she had two children, Steve and Cynthia Adair. He preceded her in death in 1989. She then married Joe Williamson in 1997 in Las Vegas. Winona was a hairdresser in the Littlefield area for many years, and was a member of the Crescent Park Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James; a brother, George Weathersbee; and a sister, Dorothy Sherrill.

Those left to cherish Winona's memory are her husband, Joe Williamson, of Little-field; a daughter, Cynthia King and husband Johnny of Sudan; a son, Steve Adair of Littlefield; two grandsons, Chad and Russ King; and a sister, Alice Mitchell of Amarillo.

Services to honor the life of Winona will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Grace Chapel in Hillcrest Funeral Home with Terry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 17, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.

Rayford W. Tanner

Rayford W. Tanner completed his sojourn on earth June 15th, Father's Day, 2008, to join his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Lawson Tanner, who went home May 21, 2000. "Rayf" was, in the most honorable sense of the words, a man among men. Born May 22, 1918, he arrived at age seven from his birthplace Royce City, and lived the next 65 years in the Lubbock area. He was a businessman of the highest integrity, a writer, activist in the interests of seniors, humorist, entertainer, and superbly creative in hand crafts ad computer operations (self taught at the age of 75). Rayf served as a deacon in the church and a 32nd Degree Mason for over 60 years. He was also active in the Lions Club most of his life.

He is survived by two adopted children; Judy Tanner Sexton of Lubbock; granddaughter, Carman Sexton Tidmore and husband Kris; and great-grandchildren Zach, Ashley, and Melanie, of Flower Mound; and son, Ron Tanner and wife Judy Purdy Tanner; and two grandsons, Robert and Miles Tanner of Chandler, Ariz.; plus a host of loving family members and friends.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.

Visitation is at Franklin-Bar-tley Funeral Home, today from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., and on Friday, June 20th at 9 a.m., to be followed by a memorial tribute at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Francisca Garcia

On March 9, 1927, Francisca was born to Santiago and Inocenia (Romero) Rodriguez in Donna, Texas. On May 1, 1943, Francisca married Willie Garcia and they had ten children. She passed away June 14, 2008.

Francisca was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter Gloria Almaguer. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert Garcia, Alfred Garcia, Ida Constancio, Janie Montelongo, Yolanda Rivas, Dorothy Powell, Joe Garcia, Diana Benjamin, and Rosie Garcia; 26 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; one sister; and three brothers.

Viewing was Wednesday, June 19th, from noon until 7 p.m. and will be today from 8 a.m. until the rosary at 7 p.m. in Fran-klin-Bartley Chapel. Mass will be said at 11 a.m., Friday, June 20th, in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Andres Mendoza officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens.

Alberto Gonzales

Rosary for Alberto Gonzales, 49, of Lubbock will be today, 7 p.m., at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10 a.m., at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Martin Pina officiating. Burial will be at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Albert passed away on Tuesday. He was born on July 15, 1958, in Lubbock to Alberto Gonzales Sr. and Anita Hernandez. He was in the house framing business. He was Catholic and a life long resident of Lubbock. Survivors include a son, Albert Manuel Gonzales III of Lubbock; three daughters, Delilah Cruz of Georgia, Melissa Rodriguez of Dallas and Kesha Rodriguez of San Antonio; his girlfriend, Irene Silva of Lubbock; his step-father, Manuel and his mother Anita Hernandez of Lubbock; his father, Albert Sr. and his step mother Vicky Gonzales of Lubbock; his ex-wife, Barbara Gonzales of Lubbock; three brothers, Adam Hernandez, Albert G. Gonzales and Crispin Gonzales all of Lubbock; four sisters, Mary Ann Torrez and San Juana Harris both of Lubbock, Nancy Dominguez of El Paso, Joyce Balderas of Waco, and seven grandchildren.

Jessie Mae West

Jessie Mae West, 91, of Lubbock, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008. She was born Nov. 2, 1916. She married William Price West. He preceded her in death in September of 2004.

Survivors include a daughter, Frances B. Sooter; two sons, James L. and Robert A. West; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2008, at the City of Lubbock cemetery with Rev. Bruce Cotton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home..

Katherine Ann Nielsen

Katherine Ann Nielsen went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 18, 2008. Services will be at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel at 10 a.m., Friday, June 20, with Pastor Woody Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Ann was born on Feb. 5, 1925, in Hattiesburg, Miss. She married D.L. Nielsen on July 28, 1950. They had two children, a son, Denny Nielsen (deceased) and a daughter, Delanie.

In 1985, she retired from Texas Tech University's Home Economics Department.

Her life and heart were filled with love-love for Jesus Christ, love for her family. Even when Alzheimer's took her memories from her, still she loved. It didn't matter whether she knew our names, she would look at us and say "I love you." The love remained and will continue to fill our hearts and lives.

Survivors include her husband, Niel; her daughter, Delanie Andrews and husband Jim; grandsons, Andy and Daniel; and two great-grandchildren, Thomas and Aubrey.

Sherry Ann Wynne

Sherry Ann Wynne passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008, in Denison.

Zetha Berline Watley

Zetha Berline Watley, 74, of Tyler formerly of Lubbock passed away Friday, June 13, 2008, at her resident in Tyler. She was born Dec. 4, 1933, in Big Sandy, to the Late Jarone and Late Mary Lue Brooks. As a young lady, Zetha attended Big Sandy ISD and graduated from Hawkins High School and Texas Tech University and she married the late Alfred Watley. Sister Zetha took the Lord by His word and was a long time faithful member and secretary of St. James Baptist Church of Lubbock in her early twenties.

She is survived by three sons, Donald Ray Watley (Linda) Michael Watley (Linda) and Jerry Watley, all of Lubbock; three daughters, Shirley Grundy (Harold) of Los Angeles, Calif.; Lawanda Jones (Jessie) and Vannessa Watley, all of Tyler; three brothers, Tommie and Howard Brooks of Victorville, Calif.; and Robert Brooks of Tyler; three sisters, Betty Lincoln of Lubbock, Alma Sedberry and Maxine Childs both of Tyler; one sister-in-law, Ema James of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Lubbock Victim Assistance Services will always cherish Zetha, known as our beloved "Mrs. Z." She went to work shortly after LVAS doors opened and was with us for 10 years, never missing a day! She was truly our angel on earth! LVAS is what it is today because of her precious presence in our office! We loved her dearly with all our hearts and have tears of joy for she was a true child of GOD! LVAS, the world, and our lives are a better place because of Mrs. Z and now heaven is a better place with her presence.

Service will be held Friday, June 20, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. James Baptist Church, burial will follow at the City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.

Family will receive friends from 4-6p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
