Jacquelyn Kay Bugosh
Jacquelyn Kay Bugosh of Cibolo was born on Aug. 3, 1956, in Lubbock and passed away Sept. 11, 2008, at the age of 52.
Jacquelyn is preceded in death by her father, Glenn Sinclair; and brother, Ronnie Sinclair. She is survived by her husband, John Bugosh; daughter, Christalee Bugosh; mother, Bobbie Johnston of Lubbock; and sister, Glenda and husband Bill Nelson of Uvalde.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept.18, 2008, at the Open Door Baptist Church in Cibolo. She will be dearly missed.
Hulen Ray Sparks
Graveside services for Hulen Ray Sparks, 80, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at Englewood cemetery with Pastor Matt Mitchell residing.
Ray passed away on Sept. 04, 2008.
He was born March 24, 1928, in Winnsboro. Ray lived in Slaton for 48 years.
He worked for Paymaster Oil Mil in Lubbock for 38 years.
He is survived by wife, Zelda Sparks; daughter, Marilyn Angerer and husband Steve; grandson, Brian Angerer and wife Marissa; two sisters, Faye Whitaker and LuDell French; and lots of nieces and nephews.
Eula Mae Leonard
Graveside services for Eula Mae Leonard, age 91, of Littlefield will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Littlefield Memorial Park in Littlefield with Reverend L.D. Green, interim pastor of the First Baptist Church in Spade, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield.
Mrs. Leonard passed away Monday morning, Sept. 15, 2008, at the Carillon House in Lubbock. She was born Dec. 11, 1916, in Manitou, Okla., to Robert Lee and Lydia (Hylton) Page. She married
Leon Leonard on Aug. 20, 1940, in Tulia. They farmed near Spade for 37 years. They moved to Littlefield in 1990. She enjoyed sewing for her family and reading. She taught Sunday School and VBS at the First Baptist Church in Spade.
Survivors include two sons, Lee Leonard and Johnny Leonard, both of Lubbock; one daughter, Markeeta Edwards of Cleburne; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Hammons Funeral Home.

Eugene A. Gerik
Funeral services for Eugene A. Gerik, 94, of Levelland will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Pep. Burial will follow in the Pep cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at the funeral home.
Eugene, born in West, Texas (near Waco) on Feb. 14, 1914, moved with his family to Pep in 1923, when he was nine years old. After a two-day drive in a model T Ford with his family, he met his father at the railhead in Littlefield and helped unload and move their belongings across the open range to Pep. His job was to drive the cattle with his pony while his father and uncle drove the truck with the other belongings.
His family had the first "Mercantile Store" in Pep where he started freighting groceries from Lubbock at the age of 13. He attended Pep High School and helped build the Catholic Church in Pep by freighting sand and gravel for the foundation from the Brazos River on the Yellow House Ranch.
Eugene started farming some of the Yellow House Ranch land after he was hired to pump its first oil well. This career lasted until he retired from farming in 1982 at the age of 68. He married
Marie Morley in 1943 and raised two sons, Don and Chris. Marie preceded him in death in 1976 and Don in 2000. Eugene later married
Geraldine Spencer on Dec. 25, 1981, and entered into the rental property business with her in Levelland, where, according to his grandchildren, "Papa Gene" could fix anything.
"Papa Gene's" love of life included helping others in need, being a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Levelland, and just being a "Jack of All Trades". He also was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting and fishing and telling tales with the best of them.
Eugene A. Gerik quietly slipped away from the cares of this world at 9:26 p.m. Sept. 13, 2008, at the age of 94. He will be missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine of Levelland; a son, Chris Gerik of Littlefield; a step-son, Joseph Spencer of Austin; two step-daughters, Barbara Dobson of Dallas and Kathy Williams of Levelland; a brother, Billy Joe Gerik of Breckenridge; a sister, Thelma Bouldin of Nevada; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth Jane Moore
Funeral services for Elizabeth Jane Moore, 76, of Levelland will be Tuesday Sept. 16, 2008, at First Baptist Church Levelland with Rev. Bruce Cotton, chaplain, Hospice of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock under direction of George Price Funeral Home. She died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Beehive Assisted Living in Levelland.
Elizabeth was born to Buford and Eva Spray on April 6, 1932, in Happy Hollow, Ala. She married
Oather Winfield Moore, Jr., on Aug. 4, 1973. He preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2007. She had lived in Levelland over 64 years, was a member of First Baptist Church of Levelland and enjoyed painting as a hobby.
She is survived by two daughters, Kandy Gilbert of Carrollton and Billie Robinette of Levelland; a brother, Winston Spray of Sundown; a sister, Helen Waldrip of Abilene; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Edward J. Capaul
Edward J. Capaul, 52, of Blytheville, Ark., and formerly of Lubbock and Alma Center, Wis., died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
A memorial service for Edward J. Capaul will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton, Wisconsin, 715-963-2311. Burial with military rites by the Alma Center VFW Post #8494 will take place in Saint Mary's Catholic cemetery, Alma Center, Wis. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to services.
Betty White
Chapel services for Betty White, age 68 of Lubbock will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 6205 82nd St, Lubbock, with Steve McMeans officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. in the Muleshoe Memorial Park cemetery. Betty will lie in state at Ellis Funeral Home Monday and Tuesday.
Betty entered the arms of her Savior Sept. 14, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock after a lengthy illness. She was born Jan. 18, 1940, in Amherst to Elmer and Vera (Henry) Downing; they preceded her in death. She married
Jimmy R. White at the Main Street Baptist Church in Muleshoe on Jan. 18, 1958.
Betty Sue and Jimmy moved to Lubbock, and in 1974, moved to Dalhart to live until Jimmy's retirement. In March 2004, they moved back to Lubbock from Dalhart. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Dalhart. She attended Muleshoe High School and loved a beautiful yard. She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by husband, Jimmy of Lubbock; sons, Jimmy Lee White and wife Deanna of Mid-West City, Okla., and Joe S. White and wife Karen of Waterford, Wis.; sister, Maxine Kimbrough of Lubbock; brother, Elmer Downing and wife Billie of Lubbock; and two grandchildren, Riley and Hailey White.
Imogene Webster Harris
Imogene Webster Harris, beloved wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother peacefully departed this life on September 13, 2008 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Roscoe and Sarah Frances (Hooser) Webster in Coryell County. She married
Gerald Harris on July 18, 1954 in Lubbock. Imogene attended Lubbock High School, Texas Tech, University of Texas, and U.S.C. She was a lifetime resident of Lubbock and a member of the First Baptist Church, where she served as church organist for over 47 years. Imogene loved her Lord Jesus, her family, her church, and her music; especially organ music. She taught many students, children and adults, to play piano and organ. She taught choir at Lubbock High School and was the first choir teacher when Monterey High School opened in 1955. She was a valued member of First Baptist Church and The Down Town Bible Class, Chapter CF P.E.O. Sisterhood, Lubbock Organ Guild, Lubbock Music Teachers Association, Lubbock Music Club, TSTA, Lubbock Women's Club, and a was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
Through the years she took great joy in passing on her love of music. Imogene took special pride in watching her students excel in their musical accomplishments.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gerald; her daughters, Camille Nutter of Lubbock; Melanie and husband Mike Martin of Austin; five grandchildren, Leah Edwards, Jeff Nutter, Ryan Martin, Reed Martin, and Riley Martin; one great-grandchild, Kianna Edwards; and sister-in-law, Madge Webster.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Rex Webster; and one niece, Wendy Webster.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request memorials be made to the Imogene Harris Musical Endowment Fund at Lubbock National Bank.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 15, 2008 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at White Funeral Home in Lubbock. Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Lubbock with Elizabeth Abraham and John Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Elvira P. Arriaga, 75, of Levelland passed away September 13, 2008 in Lubbock. Viewing will be Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 1 to 9 p.m. and Monday, September 15, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Head Duarte Funeral Home in Levelland. Rosary services will be 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday, September 14 and 15 at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at St. Michael's Catholic Church of Levelland with Fr. Heriberto Mercado officiating. Interment will be in the City of Levelland cemetery under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland.
Patricia Parsons Kisner
Patricia Parsons Kisner, 72, of Lubbock passed away on September 10, 2008 at University Medical Center. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2008 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia. Burial will follow in Rose Hill cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Father Vince Parsons (nephew) of St. Mary's Cathedral, Grand Island, Neb., will officiate.
Ms. Kisner was born on October 5, 1935 in Muleshoe. She grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School in 1954. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and worked for Swisher Memorial Hospital for many years. She retired from nursing in 1998. She has lived in Lubbock for the last few years.
Survivors include three daughters, Jan Wimberly of Bloomington, Ill.; Donna Billingsley and husband Larry of Loop; Christy Kirkland and husband Bryan of Lubbock; one son, Steven Kisner and wife Brenda of Cartwright, Okla.; brother, Alan and wife Beverly of Odessa; and sister, Leala Newsom and husband Jack of DeSoto.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ms. Kisner was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Beula Parsons; brother, Edmond Parsons and wife Meg; nephew, Mark Parsons; and grandson, Stephen Billingsley.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Lubbock chapter of MADD.
