Sondra Lucille Campbell

After a valiant fight with cancer, Sondra Lucille Campbell was received by a host of angels on April 15, 2009. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the Christian Life Assembly of God. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 17, at Resthaven Funeral Home.

She was born on December 9, 1950, in Hereford to Wesley and Frances Drake.

She married Larry Campbell on December 21, 1968 in Lubbock. They had three children: a son, John; and two daughters, Melissa and Kendra.

She worked for LISD for 15 years as a teacher's assistant at Stewart Elementary. She resigned to take care of her grandkids and help with the family business, which she did for the last 13 years. Sondra was a blessing in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and many other children who lovingly call her "Mawmaw."

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George Drake; a sister, Latricia Holmes; and a daughter, Melissa.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years; a son, John and wife Kristen; two grandchildren, Kelsey and Cole; a daughter, Kendra and husband Dusty Harris; a brother, Ray Clifford Drake; and a sister, Charlene Holmes.

Contributions may be made in Mrs. Campbell's memory to the American Cancer Society.

Mabel ''Nanny'' Kelley Torres

Mabel "Nanny" Kelley Torres was called from this earth on Monday, April 13, 2009. She was a wonderful mother, a loving grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by daughters, Linda and Senee; granddaughters, Keli, Megan, and Brandi; and great-grandchildren Torean, Tacari, and Tyrae.

Donald Eugene Gayle

Donald Eugene Gayle, 59, of Lubbock, formerly of Denver City, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in Lubbock.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 17, at 2 p.m. in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wes Bygel officiating, assisted by Randy Butler. Interment will follow in the Denver City Memorial Park with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City.

Don was born November 8, 1949 in Kansas City, Mo. to Walter and Betty Lou Gayle, Jr. He worked as a delivery man for NAPA Auto Parts. Don was a member of the Baptist Church. He loved to fish and hunt. Don was preceded in death by his mother in 1996 and two sisters.

He is survived by his son, Jason Gayle of Lubbock; his daughter, Angela Gayle of Lubbock; three granddaughters, Brittany Gayle, Stephanie Gayle, and Anna Ayla; his father and stepmother, Walter and Melba Gayle of Denver City; two brothers, Ralph Gayle and wife Marilyn of Richmond, Mo., and Steve Gayle and wife Vickie of Denver City; along with aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 16, in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel.

Donald Lindsay Telford

Donald Lindsay Telford passed away Monday April 13, 2009 at the age of 61. He was born September 20, 1947 in Lubbock to William Lindsay and Joyce Telford.

Donald was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 33 years. He was a musician and had a beautiful singing voice, which his mother will miss dearly. Donald also had a great love for dachshunds and his three will miss him very much.

Survivors include his mother, Joyce of Lubbock; brother, Bob and wife Paula of Lubbock; sister, Sylva Staab and husband Bob of Moscow, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lindsay.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3211 58th St., Lubbock.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

Bob Conger

Graveside services with military honors for Bobby Marlin Conger, 75, of Sweetwater and formerly of Lubbock, will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at the Ralls cemetery Chapel, with Rev. Richard White officiating. Burial is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Bob passed away on Feb. 8, 2010 at his home in Sweetwater. He was born on May 17, 1934, in Blue Ridge, Texas, to the late Elmer and Claudia (McGee) Conger.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and retired from the City of Lubbock Traffic Engineering Department.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Baxter Wayne Conger, in 2005.

Survivors include a son, David Conger of Lubbock; two brothers, Benny Conger and wife Twila of Lubbock and Joe Conger of Sweetwater; two sisters, Johnnie McClure and husband Mitchell and Claudia Marshall; and a sister-in-law, Debbie Conger, all of Lubbock.

John Thomas ''Tommy'' Sellers

John Thomas "Tommy" Sellers was born Roy Junior Shaw on Aug. 2, 1945 in Lubbock, Texas.

After a seven year battle with colon cancer, he passed away peacefully at his home on Friday evening, Feb. 5, 2010.

A memorial celebration of his life is being planned for 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, Ford Chapel, in downtown Lubbock.

Jeffrey W. Oliver, MD

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Jeffrey W. Oliver's life this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 82nd and Iola. Celebration services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at First Baptist Church, Shallowater, with the Rev. Mitch Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Jeff went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010.

He was born on Nov. 25, 1968 in Lubbock to F. Wayne and Claudine (Campbell) Oliver. He grew up in Shallowater and graduated from Shallowater High School. Jeff married his high school sweetheart, Sherry Alewine, on Aug. 12, 1989. Jeff graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine with his Doctor of Medicine in 1995. He practiced at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for the past ten years. He worked as a clinician, taught residents and medical students, served as the Medical Director for several labs, and participated in research. Jeff touched the lives of many students and colleagues over the years being the kind and gentle man that he was. He received many teaching awards from his students and colleagues including the Dean's award for excellence in instruction. Jeff was also a beloved husband and father, involved in all the family activities from school parties to coaching Little Dribblers. His idea of a perfect evening was eating Mexican food and spending time with Marcus and Alli. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Shallowater, and the Men's Group (Brother's Under Grace). Jeff was a Member of the Masonic Lodge in Anton and was a Master Mason. He also loved to play the piano and instilled his passion for music in his children.

Those left to cherish Jeff's memories are his wife, Sherry; son, Marcus; daughter, Alli; parents, F. Wayne and Claudine Oliver, all of Shallowater; brother, W. Todd Oliver and wife Lea of Woodway; father and mother-in-law, D. L. and Janet Alewine of Lubbock; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Karrie Boyd of Lubbock; and nieces and nephews, Ashlea, Christopher and Cody Oliver and Harmon Boyd.

Jeff joins in heaven, his grandparents and baby sister, Jill.

Rebecca Harkleroad McAlister Kidd

Our beloved Rebecca Harkleroad McAlister Kidd went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, Feb.14, 2010. Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers will host a gathering of friends and family this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Services to celebrate her life of 63 years are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 at Lake Ridge Chapel followed by a committal service at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Rebecca Ann was born on May 13, 1946 to Olaf and Beaulah Mae White Harkleroad in Littlefield. She and her family lived in Cotton Center, where she attended public school and graduated from Cotton Center High School. Becky married Steve Kidd in Lubbock on April 3, 1982.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, E. W. Harkleroad; and her children's father, Bill McAlister.

Rebecca is survived by her loving spouse of 27 years, Steve; sons, Gregory McAlister and wife Meredith of Lubbock and Marcus McAlister of Orlando, Fla.; daughter, Mindy McAlister of Lubbock; step-daughter, Stephanie Kidd Hudgens and husband Bobby of Lubbock; step-son, Robert Kidd and wife Rosie of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren, Mallory, Madison, Gillian, Kristen, Shannon, Brylee, Griffyn and Caden; and a brother, Oran Harkleroad of Barnhart, Texas.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or Hospice of Lubbock.

Goldie Nevill

Funeral services for Goldie Nevill, 93, of Lubbock and formerly of Levelland will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 24, 2010 in George Price Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Holster officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland. She died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in Lubbock.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, April 23, 2010 from 5-7 p.m.

Robin Cranford

Our beloved wife, mother and sister, Robin Cranford, was called to Heaven on Wednesday, April 21, 2010.

A service to celebrate her life of 84 years will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2010 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. It will be followed by a committal service at the City of Lubbock cemetery.

Robin Delight was born to A.M. and Hortense Robinson Leftwich in Magazine, AK, on July 29, 1925. She attended Our Lady of the Lake High School and graduate from Southern Seminary College in Buena Vista, Va. Robin married her high school sweetheart, T. S. Cranford, and on March 10, 2010, they celebrated their 64th anniversary.

Robin was a lifetime member of the Lubbock Women's Club. She was also member of the First Christian Church, Heritage Study Club, Lubbock Woman's Chamber of Commerce and Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She served as vice president of Monterey Center Inc from 1959 until 1992.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dusty Cranford, in 2004.

Survivors include her loving spouse, T. S. Cranford; daughters, Christy Climer of Euless and Misty Richie and husband Jerry of Lubbock. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Clay Cranford, Ty Cranford and wife Shelly, Christopher Cranford and wife Lauren, Travis Tucker and Kelly Cranford; and sisters, Maurine McCurry and Rose Marion Leftwich, both of Lubbock.

The family suggests that memorial tributes be given to the Lubbock Meals on Wheels, 2304 34th Street, Lubbock, TX 79411-1634.
