Dr. Patrick Mike Allen, DVM
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Pat Allen, was called to our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 20th. We take this opportunity to reflect and celebrate his life and the lives that he touched.
He was born on September 19, 1939 in Sherman, TX, son of Sybil Blackburn Allen and Mike Allen. Pat attended and graduated from Hereford High School in Hereford, TX in 1957. Upon graduation, Pat enlisted to serve his country in the National Guard from 1957 through 1958. After serving his country, Pat enrolled at Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX, where he graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Science in Entomology in 1968. To continue and further his education, Pat enrolled at Texas A&M, in College Station, TX. Pat graduated with a Doctoral Degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1974. While at A&M, besides pursuing his degree, Pat was also a two-time NCAA Wrestling Champion for the university.
The new doctor with his young family in tow moved to Lamesa, TX to begin a career in Veterinary Medicine. While in Lamesa, Pat specialized in large animal medicine and the rehabilitation of wild birds from 1974-1976.
Pat and family moved from Lamesa back to Lubbock in 1976, where Pat continued his practice of veterinary medicine for the next 30 years. Pat specialized in small and exotic animal care at the South University Animal Hospital. Pat dedicated his life to the compassionate care of all animals. He was also a pioneer in the animal care field, introducing the first pet ambulance to respond to emergency medical needs in the field.
In recognition to his dedication and pursuit of excellence, Pat was appointed by Governor Rick Perry as Vice President of The Texas State Board of Veterinary Examiners in 2004; he held that appointment until the time of his death.
Pat will be remembered for his compassion, kindness, love and especially his humor with all of his family and friends. Pat had a true zest for life, which will truly be missed.
Pat is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Kathy Harrison Allen; his three cherished daughters, Cynie Allen Williams of Tulsa, OK, Dana Allen Villarreal and husband Alex Villarreal of McKinney, TX, and Stephanie Allen Christine and husband Blaine Christine of Austin, TX; and his three grandchildren, Cyd Williams of Dallas, TX, Creighton Williams of Norman, OK, and soon-to-be-born baby Christine of Austin, TX.
A Memorial Celebration Service of Pat's life will be held on Saturday, April 24, at 1 p.m. at The Oakwood Baptist Church at 6002 Avenue U., Lubbock, TX 79412.
Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 26, at 1 p.m. at The Crestview Memorial Park at 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, TX 76302.
The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Dr. Pat Allen Scholarship Fund for Veterinary Students of Texas A&M. Checks in any amount can be sent to the "Dr. Pat Allen Scholarship Fund" at the Peoples Bank at 5820 82nd Lubbock, TX 79424, at the attention of Mike Phelps.
Pat will be greatly missed by the countless people he touched with his generosity and compassion.
Pauline S. Ogden
Private services for Pauline S. Ogden, 88, of Lubbock will be held for a small group of family and friends.
She died Thursday, April 15, 2010, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on July 7, 1921 in Wales. After serving five years in the Royal Air Force, she came to America and married
Frederick Ogden on April 26, 1947 in Kearny, N.J. They later settled in Keansburg, NJ to raise their family. After retirement in 1981, they moved to Lubbock.
Pauline was a kind and gentle person who would gladly help anyone in need. An avid organic gardener, she loved to sit in the yard watching the hummingbirds eat at her bird feeders.
Her husband, Fred, and her parents, Albert and Mary Tildsley, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sister, Sylvia Tildsley and family of Monmouth Beach, NJ; a brother, Frank Tildsley and family of England; two daughters, Paula Major and her husband Dennis and Fran Ogden and her partner Tere Riordan; two grand-daughters, Wendy Major and Kelly Major, all of Lubbock; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers of Vista Hospice and Heritage Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Frances Hesson
Frances Hesson, formerly of Lubbock, born Sept. 29, 1932 in Goldthwaite, Texas, died April 23, 2010 in Pampa. She married
Kenneth Hesson Dec. 1, 1950 in Iraan, Texas. Kenneth preceded her in death Aug. 1, 2008. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park.
She is survived by her sister, Feral Hartness of Lubbock; brother, Charlie Waddell and wife JoAnn of Kentucky; two daughters, Kathy Nord of Pampa and Karen Hesson of Ft. Worth; two grandchildren, Grant and Thomas Hubbard; one great-grandchild, Gage Hubbard; and one niece, Deanna Schwartze and husband Bill.
Casey Shakespeare
Casey Gaye Shakespeare joined her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 23, 2010 at 6:46 p.m. at UMC Hospital with her loving parents at her side. She fought valiantly for her life and passed into the next life with peace and grace with the support and love of family and many friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. today at Trinity Church with Pat Brown of Midland, Texas officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Casey was born on June 18, 1983 in Lubbock, Texas. She was the beautiful daughter of Hoy and Susan Shakespeare of Lubbock. She attended Trinity Christian Schools from Pre-K to her graduation in 2002. She was a natural athlete who excelled at basketball. She graduated from South Plains Cosmetology School and was employed by Escape Salon.
Casey was loved by all who knew her. She had a passion for life and lived it with gusto. Time with Casey always was an adventure. She had a smile that would melt the hardest of hearts and charm that delighted those fortunate enough to know her. Her years in this life were short but she lived those years to the fullest.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Ashlyn; parents, Hoy and Susan Shakespeare; brother, Andy Shakespeare and wife Liesl; grandparents, HL and Mary Shakespeare of Levelland, Dan and Geneva Michael of Pampa, Texas, and Jimmy and Susan Keeling of Abilene; aunts and uncles, Toni and Greg Methvin and Joe and Arenda Shakespeare of Levelland, Leslie and Glenn Schafer and Lisa and Greg Acker of Pampa; a heaven-sent faithful friend, Brett Amyx of Dallas; and her special cousins and many friends who adored and cherished Casey.

Annie Claire Huie White
Memorial services for Annie Claire Huie White, 87, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 1st, 2010 at the Lubbock Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 77th St. and Indiana Ave., with the Rev. Steve Doles officiating. Annie died on January 28th in Seguin, TX.
William B. Parrack, Jr.
William B. Parrack, Jr., of Lubbock, passed away on April 22, 2010 at the age of 87.
William was born in Estacado, Texas to W. B. and Eula (Eaves) Parrrack.
The survivors he leaves behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Sibyl, and son, Rick Parrack, of Lubbock, Texas; and numerous other family members and friends.
The graveside service for William will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 26, 2010 at Resthaven Memorial Park with John Ballard officiating.

Helen Elizabeth Tefertiller
Helen Elizabeth Tefertiller, 101, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 26, 2010, at Englewood cemetery in Slaton, Texas. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock.
Helen was born the oldest of 10 children on January 19, 1909, to the late Nannie and George Webber in Sawyer, Kansas. She graduated from Sawyer High School in 1926 and attended Wichita Business School for a year. Helen married
Cecil Tefertiller on June 23, 1927, in Sawyer, Kansas. They later moved from Mullinville, Kansas, to Slaton in 1938, and then from Slaton to Lubbock in 1973, and finally to Amarillo from Lubbock in 1991. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas. She was a homemaker and mother to nine children.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Sue Love and Arlene Brand; a son, Bob Tefertiller; granddaughter, Karen Tefertiller; great-grandson, Craig Davis; great-granddaughter, Gracie Tefertiller; a sister, Elma Metzker; and five brothers, Ray, Mike, Edwin, George, and Robert Webber.
Those left to cherish her memories are three daughters, Jo Ann Clark of Slaton, Phyllis Jenkins of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Jane Cornejo of Amarillo; three sons, Duane Tefertiller of Amarillo, Webb Tefertiller of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jerry Tefertiller of Pyote; two sisters, Mary Jane Drake of Wichita, Kansas, and Doris Pooler of Huntington Beach, California; a brother, Martin Webber of Ridgecrest, California; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

James Lee McDonald
James Lee McDonald, 72, of Lubbock, died Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Covenant Lakeside Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the W.W. Rix Chapel. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock cemetery.
James was born on Nov. 30, 1937 in Lubbock to Jimmie and Katherine (Spears) McDonald. He was a 1956 graduate of Cooper High School and graduated from Texas Tech in 1962. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and farmed in southwest Lubbock all of his life. James was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He was a caring and compassionate man and very important to his family. He married
Myrtle Davis on March 4, 1967 in Lubbock, and she survives him.
Other survivors include, his daughter, Liane McDonald Grametbauer and husband Ryan of Austin; son, Joshua Davis McDonald and wife Amy of Dallas; one granddaughter, Gracie; and one grandson, Luke.
