Ralph S. Daniel
Graveside services with military honors for Ralph S. Daniel will be at Resthaven cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2010. Burial will be under direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
Ralph S. Daniel was born August 26, 1924 and left us on April 21, 2010. At home he was surrounded by loved ones and his faithful dog, Muttley, when he passed away in peace.
He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1942 and enlisted in military service in 1943. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. After his service for his country, he attended The University of Texas Law School and was licensed by the Supreme Court of the State of Texas to practice law on November 12, 1953. He practiced law in Lubbock until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Lubbock County Bar Association.
After his retirement, he moved to Branson, MO to be with his daughter and son-in-law on their farm, where he spent his time raising baby chicks in his utility room, gardening, feeding carrots to Barney the horse and Chico the donkey, and just enjoying the last few years of his life.
He is survived by his sister, Katherine Hooks of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Rebecca and her husband George Beasley of Branson, MO; a son, Ralph S. Daniel Jr. and his wife Valli, and their two children, Drew and Skylar, of Dripping Springs, Texas; step-children, Linda Mooney of Gilmer, Texas and Larry Ballard of Nacogdoches, Texas; and our dear friends, Christy, Gayla, and little Abby, who helped with his care and were at his side until the very end.
Serena Lynnette Tayse
A memorial service for Serena L. Tayse, 41, of Lubbock, will be at Broadway Church of Christ Chapel, at 4:30 p.m., Monday, April 26, 2010, with Bill Starcher officiating.
Serena was a graduate of the Registered Nurse program at South Plains College.
She is survived by a daughter, Ciera Crockett of Lubbock; son, Joshua Crockett of Houston; her mother, Lynn Vitatoe of Lubbock; a sister, Lee Ann Paxton of Levelland; a grandson, Ezekiel Crockett; two nieces and a great-nephew.

Edgardo ''Gary'' ''Eddie'' Kirk

Edgardo "Gary" "Eddie" Kirk, of Sullivan, Mo. and formerly of Lubbock, was born on Feb. 7, 1956 in Puerto Rico, and passed away on April 19, 2010, at the age of 54.
Services will be Monday, April 26, 2010 at 10 a.m., in the Ford Chapel at First Baptist Church, Broadway Ave., Lubbock. Internment will be in Peaceful Gardens.
Gary was loving, funny, talkative and full of joy. He enjoyed fishing, doing impersonations, computers, joking around, playing guitar, dancing and cooking.
He graduated high school at Sandia View Academy in Corrales, N.M. and was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He is survived by his mother, Zaida DeLaRosa; two aunts, Julia and Esther; 10 siblings; and recent love, Kelly.
He was met in Heaven by Our Heavenly Father, Granny Kirk, Brother Johnny and Niece Gloria Meri
Thank you God, for allowing us these past years with Gary. He was your special blessing to this family and we were privileged to have known and loved him. He's home with you now and that gives us comfort. He's finally free…
Patricia Lawrence Morlen
Patricia Lawrence Morlen, 85, former resident of Lubbock, passed away on March 5, 2010, in her hometown of Moab, Utah.
She played some bridge, hiked the mountains, rode the red rock, horseback. She loved her family and friends, reading, opera, off road driving, traveling, "lively" debates, and she was a devout Episcopalian.
We will miss her love, audacity, wit and humor. Thanks for the adventures and memories, Mama.
Betty Louise Dunlap
Services for Betty Dunlap, 75, of Lubbock, will be at Agape Funeral Chapel at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, with Dr. Paul Miller officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. She passed away on Friday, April 23, 2010 in Lubbock.
Betty was retired from U.S. West Telephone Company in Albuquerque, N.M.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Daryl Bundrant; and her father and mother.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Denise Russ; grandchildren, Dustin and wife Ashlee, Brandi and husband Derek, Ryan and wife Shannon, Brittany, Logan, Emma and Kyle; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Cindy and Debbie.
William Entrekin
HARRISON, Ark. (Special) - Services for William Entrekin, 80, of Port Orchard, Wash., were Saturday in Maplewood cemetery in Harrison, Ark.
Services were under direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, Wash.
Entrekin died March 1, 1999, in Cotteshore of Life Care in Gig Harbor, Wash.
He was born Jan. 9, 1919, in Easley, S.C. He was a former Lubbock resident. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a manager for La Quinta Inns. He was manager of Cassel's Variety Store in Easley, and he worked at Lanier Manufacturing. He was a member of the Lions Club in Easley. He married
Betty Young on May 22, 1945, in Dodge City, Kan. A son, Phil, died March 3, 1988.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Caroline Cordrey of Port Orchard.
Louise Beckworth
Louise Beckworth, 59, Pflugerville, resident for seven years, died on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at her home.
A native of Miami, Fla., Louise married
her husband, Lamar Beckworth, on April 6, 1976 and moved to Texas. She retired in 2001 from Texas Department of Human Services. She was a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church in Austin, Texas, and a former member of First Baptist (Brownfield, Texas), Smith Chapel Baptist (Tatum, Texas) and Morning Star Baptist (Miami, Fla.).
Survived by husband of 34 years, Lamar Beckworth of Pflugerville; son and daughter-in-law, Trevis and Andrea Beckworth of Amarillo; daughter, Kristen Beckworth of Irving; her one and only granddaughter, Braelyn Beckworth; two brothers, three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Louise was preceded in death by her mother and two brothers.
A visitation will be Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cook-Walden Funeral Home in Austin, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Smith Chapel Baptist Church (12753 County Road 2184d Tatum, TX 75691). Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Jay's Funeral Home in Perrine, Fla. at 11 a.m.
Sgt. Joshua Michael Holt
Services for Sgt. Joshua Michael Holt, 26, of Lubbock will be held Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Reynolds of Fort Hood Army Base officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.
Sgt. Holt died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008 at the Ford Hood Army Base. He was born Sept. 24, 1981 in Lubbock, Texas and graduated from Coronado High School in 2000. Sgt. Holt entered the military August 2002 and was assigned to the 115th Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, and 1st Cavalry division as a M1 Abrams Tank System Maintainer since July 2003. He served his 2nd tour in Iraq before returning home in early January. He loved to hunt and go four wheeling, and participated in the 4-H Club where he enjoined being on the rifle and shotgun teams.
Sgt. Holt is survived by his father, David Holt of Lubbock; his mother Madelyn Leusing and husband Thomas of Lubbock; brother, Alex Holt and wife Destiny of Lubbock; sisters, Jennifer L'Insalata and husband Michael of Montgomery, Texas and Amy Miller of Lubbock; his maternal grandfather, Joe Smith of Capitan, New Mexico; a niece; and four nephews.
Susan Holt
Services for Susan Marie Holt, 59, of Lubbock will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at 11 a.m., at Sanders Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in St. Anne cemetery in Lenox, Mass. The family will receive friends Mondayfrom 6:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Local arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
She was born Jan. 21, 1948, in Springfield, Mass., to Michael and Annette Salerno and graduated from Longmeadow High School in Springfield.
She married
David Holt, June 2, 2002, in Hampden, Mass. She worked as a beautician and owned and operated Salerno's Pizza in Lenox, Mass. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, David; children, Matt, Harry, and Meghan Schweizer; step children, Josh and Alex Holt, Amy Miller, and Jennifer L'Insalata; six grandchildren; and a brother, Edward Salerno.
Christina Stephens
In loving memory of Christina Marie "Paproski" Stephens, born on May 7, 1959. Christina passed unexpectedly on Sunday, April 18, 2010, in Lubbock, Texas, from Necrotizing Fasciitis.
