Services for Lucy Claywell Marion of Lubbock will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, La., with Rev. William Crosby, pastor, officiating. Assisting will be Joe Wagner, minister of education.
Burial will be in Highland cemetery under direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Mansfield. Local arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home of Lubbock.
She died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born March 30, 1900, in Halsted, Ark. She married
Millard F. Marion in 1919 in Little Rock, Ark. He preceded her in death. She moved from Arkansas to Mansfield in 1963.
She worked as a secretary for the state geologist of Arkansas and the U.S. Army Finance Office at Camp Robinson, Ark.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mansfield, where she taught Sunday school, and a member of the Garden Club of Mansfield, the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum Foundation and the Rose Society.
Survivors include a son, Paul Marion of Toledo, Ohio; a daughter, Helen Jarman of Lubbock; two brothers, Joseph Stiles of Houston and Lowell Stiles of Honolulu, Hawaii; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Mansfield on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
The family suggests memorials in Lubbock be sent to the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum Foundation or the First Baptist Church of Lubbock.
Memorials in Mansfield can be sent to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home or First Baptist Church of Mansfield.
Norbert Morris
KENT, Wash. - Services for the Rev. Norbert Morris, 78, will be today in Alliance Bible Church.
He was born near Bedford. He attended Dixie schools for 10 years. He graduated from Wilson High School and John Brown University in Arkansas. He graduated from Washington State University in Seattle.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was chief petty officer aboard the U.S.S. Lexington before it was sunk by the Japanese. He also did missionary work in the Dominican Republic and in the Philippines.
He was a pastor and a principal.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; six children; three brothers, Donnie of New Home, Dayle of Roswell, N.M., and Aubrey of Indiana; four sisters, Jewel Brown of Lubbock, Maae Curtis of Hobbs, N.M., Hazel Groves of Lubbock and Gloella Finch of Denton; and several grandchildren.
Andy Cruz
FRIONA - Rosary for Andy Cruz, 63, of Friona will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Teresa's Catholic Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the same church with the Rev. Ed Sweeney officiating.
Burial will be in Friona cemetery under direction of Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home.
Cruz died Friday, March 5, 1999, in Parmer County Community Hospital.
He was born Jan. 18, 1936, in Robstown. He married
Janie Guerra on Dec. 5, 1959, in Muleshoe. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Friona. He moved to Friona from Robstown. He operated a service station in Friona.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Joe of Friona; seven daughters, Norma Mendoza of Canyon, Gloria Aragon of Friona, Velma Escalante of Canyon, Diana Perez of Friona, Yolanda Cruz of Friona, Sally Cruz of Friona and Roxy Cruz of Friona; a brother, Joe A. of Arlington; three sisters, Marina Luera of Clovis, N.M., Delores Valero of Clovis, N.M., and Oralia Garza of Robstown; and nine grandchildren.
David Minton
SNYDER - Services for David "Alvis" Minton, 90, of Snyder will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Marty Akins, pastor, officiating. The Rev. C.J. Smith, a retired Baptist minister, will assist.
Burial will be in Snyder cemetery under direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Minton died Friday, March 5, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born Oct. 9, 1908, in Pilot Point. He married
Iva Merritt, Helen Sandell and Orene Nettleton. They all preceded him in death. He worked for Ezell Key Grain Co. for 45 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was active in the Scurry County Senior Citizens Center. A son, Clarence, died April 5, 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Haden of Abilene; three sisters, Floy Moore of Harlingen and Sadie Calfee and Mary Haney, both of Menard; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Juanita Fincannon
LEVELLAND - Services for Juanita Fincannon, 67, of Levelland will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Geo. C. Price Funeral Directors Chapel with Paul Fincannon of St. Louis, Mo., officiating.
Burial will be in Morton Memorial cemetery.
She died Friday, March 5, 1999, in Levelland Nursing Home.
She was born March 23, 1931, in Crosby County. She moved to Levelland from Morton. She worked in the medical records department of Cook Memorial Hospital, and she was a bookkeeper for Robert Micham. She worked for South Plains College as a dorm mother. She was a member of County Line Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Rita Kay Goode of West Haven, Conn., Cheryl Leahy of Carrollton and Jo Ann Fincannon of Morton; a son, John of King George, Va.; four sisters, Elizabeth Peden of Lubbock, Nelda Ellerd of Levelland, Mary Vanderhoef of Denver, Colo., and Patsy Roth of Breckenridge; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

William Cross
CORPUS CHRISTI - William "Don" Cross, 76, of Corpus Christi died Friday, March 5, 1999, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 27, 1922, in Tulsa, Okla. He graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas in 1940. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He worked for Southwestern Bell from 1946 until retiring in 1985. He married
Mary Frances Powell on April 11, 1947, in Dallas. She died Aug. 12, 1996. He served on the Library Board and the Navigation Museum Board. He was a member of the Key Allegro Men's Club.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Lee of Jacksonville, Fla., Robert Gordon of Newman, Ga., and Charles Edward of Lubbock; a daughter, Patricia Jean Green of Lubbock; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Birtie Hudgens

She died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, in Spokane, Wash.
She was born Feb. 13, 1912, in Electra. She married
Comer Glenn Hudgens on Dec. 10, 1928, in Kermit. He preceded her in death. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. A daughter, Norma Hampton, died in November 1997.
Survivors include three daughters, Glenda Tomes of Deer Park, Wash., Gwen Hall of Rockport and Janice Wilson of Deer Park; a son, Comer Dennis of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Clara Lowe of Ennis; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
W.N. Stone
SNYDER - Services for W.N. Stone, 84, of Snyder will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Martin Akins, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.

Stone died Friday, March 5, 1999, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 4, 1915, in Mount Vernon. He married
Viola Mayes on Dec. 25, 1940, in Stephenville. He was a farmer and a rancher. He moved to Comanche from Tahoka in 1967, and he moved to Snyder in July 1998.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Ann Roberts of New Orleans, La.; a son, Charley Stone of Snyder; a sister, Ruby Thompson of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Joyce Thomas

She died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in Hereford.

TAHOKA - Graveside services for Cecil M. Davis Sr., 84, of Pilot Point will be at 3 p.m. today in Nevels Memorial cemetery with the Rev. Lynn Long, minister of Sweet Street Baptist Church, officiating.

Davis died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in Denton Community Hospital in Denton.
He was born March 18, 1914, in Vera. He married
Lois Earlene Williams on March 1, 1939. She preceded him in death. He was a foreman for the City of San Angelo for 23 year prior to retiring. He lived in Amarillo, Tahoka, Lubbock and San Angelo. He moved to Pilot Point in September 1997. He was a member of Sweet Street Baptist Church in Tahoka. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. A son, Jimmy C., died in 1981.
Survivors include two sons, Cecil M. Jr. of Pilot Point and Clois Ray of San Angelo; four brothers, Tommy of Slaton, Marlo and Floyd, both of Lubbock and Arta Lee of California; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was born March 21, 1926, in Draw. She attended Draw and Redwine schools. She married
Reed Yandell on March 16, 1946, in Lamesa. She moved to the Littlefield area from O'Donnell in 1953. She moved to Lubbock from Hereford in 1982. She was a homemaker and a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Littlefield.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Don of Wichita Falls, Ronnie of Lake Jackson and Kevin of McGregor; a brother, Alvis Mensch of Carlsbad, N.M.; two sisters, Stella Mae Pierce of Draw and Faye Bradshaw of Graham; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
