POST - Prayer services for Ruben "Choco" Gonzales, 53, of Lubbock will be at 7 p.m. today in Hudman Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Templo Bethel Assembly of God with the Rev. Fredrico Guitron officiating.
Burial will be in Terrace cemetery.
Gonzales died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, in University Medical Center.
He was born March 31, 1945, in Post. He married
Ortencia Martinez in 1985 in Post. He worked in the oil field, and he was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ruben Dale of Post and Augustine of Lubbock; two daughters, Margaret Gonzales and Valentina Gonzales, both of Lubbock; a stepson, Leroy Herrera of Lubbock; a stepdaughter, Margie Martinez of Lubbock; three brothers, Ray and Rudy, both of Post, and Robert of Lamesa; four sisters, Olivia Salinas and Arcilia Barbosa, both of Post, Gloria Gonzales of Roswell, N.M., and Linda Trevino of Brownwood; and 13 grandchildren.
William Mingus
Services for William C. Mingus, 83, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Ford Memorial Chapel of First Baptist Church with the Rev. D.L. Lowrie and the Rev. John H. Ballard officiating.
Graveside services will be in Abilene City cemetery at 4 p.m. with Rev. Bill Ballou officiating.
Services are under direction of Rix Funeral Directors of Lubbock.
He died Monday, April 26, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center Lakeside.
He was born July 13, 1915, in Abilene. He attended Abilene public schools and was a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University with a bachelor's degree. He moved to Lubbock in 1946 to open a wholesale automotive parts company, and he retired in 1981.
He married
Frances Couch in Vernon on June 26, 1938. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Timothy Sunday School Class, the Lubbock Lions Club, the Quarter Century Wireless Association, the Lubbock Amateur Radio Club and the AARL.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Julia Lundgren of Houston and Marilyn Wilson of Wimberly; and two grandsons.
Rafael Pena
LOVINGTON, N.M. - Rosary for Rafael Rivera Pena, 79, of Lovington will be at 7 p.m. today in Bethany Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Franklin Eichhorst officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery.
Pena died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, in Nor-Lea Hospital.
He was born Oct. 24, 1919, in Shafter. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He married
Lourdes Jasso on Sept. 29, 1951, in Carlsbad, N.M. He moved to Lovington in 1952. He worked for Lovington schools as a mechanic until retiring.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Connie Garcia of Lovington, Mary Helen Bell of Clute, Teresa Navarrette of Colleyville and Susan Chavez of Peralta, N.M.; three sons, Alonzo of Cortez, Colo., Rafael Jr. of Levelland and Lt. Col. Arthur of Fairfax, Va.; his mother, Manuela Rivera Pena of Visalia, Calif.; a brother, Gualberto Pena of Los Angeles; a sister, Estanislada Cortez of Visalia; and 16 grandchildren.

Graveside services for Aaron Angel Rodriguez, infant son of Noel and Tracy Rodriguez of Lubbock, will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Jay Fuglaar, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
He died Wednesday, August 4, 1999, at University Medical Center.

Jewel Taylor
Services for Jewel Taylor, 87, of Post will be at 2:30 p.m. today in First Baptist Church in Post with Paul D. Jones, minister of the Post Church of Christ, officiating.

She died Sunday, April 25, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born May 14, 1911, in Oklahoma. She attended school at Antelope in Kent County. She married
Jack Taylor on Dec. 26, 1927, in Dickens County. He died April 13, 1997.
They farmed in Dickens County before moving to the Verbena community in Garza County, where they farmed and worked a ranch.
She worked many years for Postex Cotton Mill.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Post and was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobby Wynell Taylor, in September 1933, and a son, Pat Taylor, in October 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, June McMullen of Granbury; a brother, Vernon Hagar of Lubbock; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Resthaven cemetery, Route 2, Box 74, Southland 79364 or to a favorite charity.
Leocadio Acosta

Hermengilda Hernandez on July 20, 1939, in Chihuahua. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Daniel of Lovington; three daughters, Luzmila Sanchez of Jal, N.M., Amelia Contreras of Lovington and Elia Solarzano of Lovington; a brother, Manuel of Mexico; six sisters, Francisca Dominguez and Hermingilda Acosta, both of Lovington, Josefa Acosta of Hobbs, Celestina Gomez of Alpine, and Susana Celaya and Gregoria Cabollera, both of Fort Stockton; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She died Wednesday, August 11, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center-Lakeside.
She was born Oct. 4, 1944, in Knox City. She married
Pedro Torres Hernandez on April 3, 1968, in Benjamin. She was a cook for the Lubbock Independent School District and a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Lubbock.
She was preceded in death by a son, Pedro J. Hernandez Jr., in November 1968.

Rosemary Bednarek
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Rosemary Anderson Bednarek of Gainesville died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at her residence. She was 63.
She was born in Charleston, W.Va. She moved to Gainsville from Akron, Ohio. She was a member of the University Women's Club, Gainesville Garden Club and Gainesville Barnacle Busters. She was a registered nurse at Shands at AGH. She was involved in underwater research for the University of Florida. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include her husband, Alexander R.; four sons, Robert A. of Greenwich, Conn., Andrew R. of Washington, D.C., Thomas C. and Eugene P., both of Gainesville; a brother, Charles Anderson of Lubbock; and five grandchildren.
O.D. Paulk
HOBBS, N.M. - Services for O.D. Paulk, 84, of Hobbs will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Jefferson Street Church of Christ with Virgil Webb, minister, officiating.
Burial will be in Prairie Haven Memorial Park under direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Paulk died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, in Good Samaritan Village in Hobbs.
He was born Nov. 5, 1914, in Moody. He married
Madge Kniffen on Feb. 13, 1937, in Abilene. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He worked for El Paso Natural Gas Co. for 39 years. He was the superintendent of the Hobbs gas plant for 19 years, retiring in 1980.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, O.D. Jr. of Houston and Ronnie of El Paso; two daughters, Jan Herman of Las Cruces, N.M., and Debbie Kellum of Midland; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Buddy Smith

Ruby Akin on July 14, 1962, in Kermit. He worked for Three Way Construction and Triwest Construction, both in Odessa.
