TULIA - Graveside services for Lynn Martin, 67, of Tulia will be at 10 a.m. today at Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Tom Baker, Christ Lutheran Church of Tulia, officiating.
Burial will be under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home.
She died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at Northwest Texas Healthcare Systems in Amarillo.
She was born Jan. 21, 1932, in Wausa, Neb. She married
Harold Martin on Sept. 18, 1950, in Portales, N.M. She grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School. She had worked for the Tulia Sentinel as a bookkeeper for the past 4« years. She was a Lutheran.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Mike Martin of Bovina, Mark Hill of Tulia and John Hill of Plano; a brother, John T. Hill of Plano; a sister, Zoa Honea of Tulia; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas or Children's Medical Center of Dallas.
Bob Ray
Memorial services for Bob L. Ray will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Johnson officiating.
He died Monday, March 8, 1999, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 22, 1934, in Wink. He married
Anne Stovall in 1958. He retired from the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department. He had worked at Earl Ray Music Co., and he was the chief of police in Wilson. He served in the U.S. Air Force Band in Amarillo and Lubbock. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1953 and attended Texas Tech.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, LaVerne Ray; and two daughters, Tracy and Pamela.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
Manuel Shaffer
Services for Manuel L. Shaffer, 82, of Freeport will be at 2 p.m. Monday in W.W. Rix Chapel with the Rev. John H. Johns officiating.
Burial will be in City of Lubbock cemetery under direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
He died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at his home in Freeport.
He married
Louise Ham on April 20, 1940, in Levelland. She died March 26, 1987. He moved to Freeport in 1992 from Lubbock. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson and was active in the singles department of the church. While a resident of Lubbock, he was a deacon at Arnett Benson Baptist Church and later at Trinity Baptist Church. He owned and operated Shaffer Auto Repair for 35 years and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Shaffer, in 1977.
Survivors include a daughter, Sheridan McDaniel of Lake Jackson; a brother, Marion Allen Shaffer of Donaldson; a sister, Juanita Jouett of Ingleside; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m. until services.
Tony Garcia
HOBBS, N.M. - Mass for Tony Levba Garcia, 20, of Hobbs, N.M. will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jose Pedro Valdev officiating. Rosary will be held 7 p.m. Monday at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Prairie Haven Memorial Park under direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
He died Friday, July 16, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born July 6, 1979, in Andrews. He married
Veronica Ramirez on Dec. 18, 1997, in Lovington, N.M. He was an employee at Heilig Meyers Furniture Co. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Hobbs Council No. 3225.
Survivors include his wife of Hobbs; a son, Jesus Antonio Garcia of Hobbs; his father, Natividad Quiroz of Hobbs; three brothers, Natividad Huerta, of Artesia, N.M., Fabian Orenlas and Bobby Garcia, both of Hobbs; three sisters, Frances Levba, Nancy Salcido, and Della Ortiz, all of Hobbs; grandparents, Juana Quiroz of Mexico, and Mr. and Mrs. Eusbio Levba of Artesia, N.M.
The body will be available for viewing from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
Lillian Bottorff
NEWPORT, R.I. - Services for Lillian Caroline Bottorff, 84, of Middletown, R.I., will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St. Columba cemetery.
She died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, in Forest Farm Health Care Center.
She was born Oct. 6, 1914, in Fall River, Mass. She was a dietary aid for Newport Hospital from 1955 to 1972. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She was a member off the Women's Auxiliary of the AOH 1, where she served as past president and past vice-president. She was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Auxiliary Branch 19, Aquidneck Ladies Bowling League, Foster Grandparent for Child and Family Services, Newport Women's Democratic Club and St. Joseph's Legion of Mary. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army. Her husband, Byron Paul Bottorff, preceded her in death. Three sons, Byron P. II, Gerard and Timothy, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol Ann Hale and Deborah Sue Brennan, both of Middletown, R.I., and Sandra Louise Dockery of Lubbock; a brother, Raymond A. Desmarais of Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Maxine Courtney
SNYDER - Services for Maxine Ione Courtney, 62, of Snyder will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Wright Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Day, pastor of Avenue D Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Snyder cemetery.
She died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at her residence.
She was born May 10, 1936, in Terry County. She married
James Courtney Sr. on March 15, 1956, in San Antonio. She was a beautician at Nancy's Art Style for more than 30 years. A daughter, Sandra, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Danny, Kevin, Tim and James Jr., all of Snyder; two daughters, Kim Lapape of Washington and Teresa Mitchell of Snyder; two sisters, Sarah Lopez and Jessie Simmons, both of Sandia Park, N.M.; four brothers, H.D. Marchbanks of Edgewood, N.M., Charles Marchbanks of Mountain Air, N.M., Al Marchbanks of Panama City, Fla., and Bobby Marchbanks of Seattle, Wash.; 18 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Dennis Bush Sr.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Services for Dennis D. Bush Sr., 60, of Jacksonville were Saturday in the Ruth Lindsay Auditorium under direction of Town & Country Funeral Home.
Bush died March 3, 1999.
He was born in Lubbock. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and he worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela D. Bush; a son, Dennis D. Jr.; a daughter, Nina N. Bush; his father, Charles E. Bush of Covington, Ind.; a sister, Barbara Graham of Lubbock.

James Milner
James Wilbourne Milner, 83, of Arlington, Va., died Feb. 4, 1999.
He was born in McLennan County. He graduated from Waco High School and attended Baylor University. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1940, where he played on the Army football team. He received a master's of science degree in engineering from the University of Michigan.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, commanding the 489th Armored Field Artillery Battalion. He received the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Croix de Guerre de Luxembourg, Verdun Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Ribbon and the Legion of Merit.
He taught at West Point and the Army Artillery School at Fort Sill, Okla. He graduated from the National War College in Washington, D.C. He served as director of Special Weapons in the Office of the Chief of Research and Development in the Department of the Army, and he served in the State Department's Bureau of International Scientific and Technological Affairs.
He retired from the Army in 1967, and he joined the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency. He served as a member of the Strategic Arms Limitations Treaty delegations. He received the ACDA Meritorious Honor Award. He retired in 1990, and he received the ACDA Distinguished Achievement Award. He was an elder of the National Presbyterian Church, and he served on the Board of Trustees of the National Presbyterian School. He received the Religious Heritage Award for Outstanding Community Service in 1978. A son, James W. Milner Jr., died in 1965.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Wiebusch Milner of Arlington; a daughter, Margaret Milner Richardson of Washington, D.C.; a brother, W.D. Milner of Tyler; and a granddaughter.
