Memorial services for Mary Lynn Holland, 53, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. today in Resthaven Funeral Home Abbey Chapel with the Rev. Stan Howse, of Unity Church of Lubbock, officiating.
Cremation is under direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
She died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 25, 1945, in Winnemucca, Nev. She graduated from York College in York, Neb., and received bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas Tech University. She was a member of Chi Sigma Iota, national honor fraternity, and she was an advocate for Humane Treatment of Animals. She was a former member of the Lubbock Chorale. She worked with the Texas Rehab Commission until retiring in 1993.
She was active with the Diabetes Foundation and Diabetes Youth Camp at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She was a member of Unity Church of Lubbock. She married
David N. Holland in May 1989 in Lubbock.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Conner McGuire of Houston; two daughters, Hillary McGuire of Lubbock and Karrie Stanger of Escondido, Calif.; her mother, Margaret Blackburn of Lovington, N.M.; a brother, Alan Blackburn of Ramstein, Germany; a sister, Bonnie Ellis of Tahlequah, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association, 1660 Duke St., Alexandria, Va. 22314.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. today.
Earsley Colvin
HEREFORD - Services for Earsley "Earnest Ray" Colvin, 70, of Hereford will be at 1 p.m. Monday in West Park cemetery with the Rev. Nathan Stone officiating.
Burial will be under direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.
Colvin died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.
He was born Jan. 29, 1929, in Aliceville, Ala. He retired as a driver from Holly Sugar Plant. A son, Ernest Ray Jr., preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Bobby of Garland; two daughters, Katie Richards of Midland and Anna Walker of Lubbock; six sisters, Bennie Windham, Luewill King, Elizabeth Degraffearied, Sarah Spain, Betty Spain and Daisy Spain; eight brothers, Perry Colvin, Andrew Colvin, Willie Colvin, James Colvin, Walter Colvin, Herman Colvin, Alfred Ball and Lewis Ball; and three grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
Dorothy Cornish
LEVELLAND - Services for Dorothy Cornish, 32, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Head Family Funeral Home Chapel with Willie Lee Majors officiating. Alvin Childress will assist.
Burial will be in the City of Levelland cemetery.
She died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, in University Medical Center.
She was born May 23, 1966, in Morton. She moved to Lubbock from Levelland in 1992. She was a nurse's aide at University Medical Center.
Survivors include a son, Billie Jay Cornish of Lubbock; his father, Ollie C. Cornish of Levelland; three brothers, Ollie Lynn Cornish and Dennis Cornish, both of Levelland, and Marvin Cornish of Dumas; and five sisters, Linda Cornish, Debra Phillips and Geanine Cornish, all of Lubbock, Carolyn Cornish and Rita Cornish, both of Levelland.
Theodore Kohler
MARION, Ohio - Services for Theodore L. Kohler, 80, of Marion were Feb. 23, 1999, in Boyd Funeral Home.
Kohler died Feb. 19, 1999, in Medical Center Hospital in Marion.
He was born Jan. 26, 1919, in Marion. He married
Flora L. Smith, and she died in June 1997. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7201. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a molder with the Commercial Steel Co. of Marion until retiring. A son, Richard, and a daughter, Barbara Christian, preceded him in death.
Survivors include three sons, Theodore Jr., James and Keith, all of Marion; two daughters, Karen Holland of Marion and Diana Bowers of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Thelma Postell of Marion; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Dean Smith
Services for Dean Smith, 70, of Lubbock will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Luke's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Mills, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
Smith died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, in Lakeside Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 3, 1928, in Snyder. He graduated from Dickens High School. He received a bachelor's degree and master's degree in marketing from Texas Tech University. He worked for Texas Tech for 27 years, retiring in 1986. He was a former officer and member of the Regional and National Associations of Educational Buyers. He married
Dorothy Harbaugh on July 24, 1950, in Lubbock. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. He moved to Lubbock from Dickens in 1945.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Mike of Lubbock; a daughter, Brenda Smith of Midland; and two granddaughters.
The family suggests memorials to St. Luke's United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's DNA Studies at TTUHSC, 3601 Fourth St., Room 4A-161, Lubbock 79430.

Eargle Vernon

She died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in Olton.
She was born May 17, 1914, in Brownwood. She moved to Abilene from Dimmitt in 1956. She worked at Grissom's Department Store. She married
Juddie M. Vernon in 1959. He died in 1984. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Rose Park Senior Citizens in Abilene.
Survivors include a daughter, Dalia Gregory of Dimmitt; a son, Jack Twiner of Dumfries, Va.; a stepdaughter, Claudine White of Del Rio; two brothers, Arthur Giddens of Abilene and Bob Giddens of Odessa; two sisters, Beryl Hendrix of Albany and Ella Burnett of Sundown; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Emory Brownlow

Brownlow died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, in Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.
He was born May 25, 1936, in Doughty. He married
Dorothy Pepper in 1967, in Canyon. He operated Brownlow Brothers Construction Co. in Hereford for more than 35 years. He served as city commissioner for Hereford, and he was a member of the Hereford Jaycees. He was a member of the Hereford Lions Club and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Eric Fowler of Hereford, Mark Fowler of Albuquerque and Curt Brownlow of Juneau, Alaska; two daughters, Susan Stormer and Becky McWilliams, both of Lubbock; two brothers, James and Johnny, both of Hereford; two sisters, Bobbie Wilson of Faith, S.D., and Doris Van Meter of McAdoo; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
