Ruby Durham
SEMINOLE - Services for Ruby Lee Durham, 89, of Seminole will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Westside Church of Christ with Don and Glen Fleming officiating.
Burial will be in Gaines County cemetery South under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
She died Monday, April 19, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 7, 1909, in Howard County. She moved to Seminole in 1956 from Brownfield. She married
Haward Lee Durham on Dec. 21, 1929, in Sweetwater. She was a member of Westside Church of Christ and was a homemaker who raised 11 children. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978. She was loved by all and will greatly be missed.
Survivors include eight sons, Robert Lee Durham of Seagraves, Royce Howard Durham of Midland, Donald Louis Durham of Stephenville, Alton Andrew Durham of Kermit, Roland Dean Durham of Seminole, Von Dee Durham of Denver City, Wayland Ray Durham of Andrews and Myrdise Gene Durham of Seminole; two daughters, Mary Joycelene Davis of Andrews and Sybil Sue Watson of Seminole; 80 grandchildren; 100 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
Consuelo Rodriguez
Prayer services for Consuelo Lomas Rodriguez, 87, of Lubbock will be at 7 p.m. today in Templo La Hermosa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the same church with the Rev. Richard Rodriguez officiating.
Burial will be in the City of Lubbock cemetery under direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.
She died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, in University Medical Center.
She was born March 11, 1911, in Crystal City. She married
Mateo Rodriguez on May 1, 1927, in Crystal City. He died Feb. 17, 1995. She moved to Lubbock from Tahoka in 1991. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include seven sons, Juan Mateo and Manuel, both of Minnesota, Pedro of O'Donnell, Robert of Tahoka, Armando of Austin and Ricky and Andy, both of Lubbock; three daughters, Beatrice Torrez of Hereford, Pura R. Perez of New Home and Mandi R. Rodriguez of Lubbock; four brothers, Arturo Jr. of Crystal City, Manuel of San Antonio, Enrique Castro of California and Mike of Mississippi; a sister, Maria Erlinda Martinez of California; 81 grandchildren; 134 great-grandchildren; and 60 great-great-grandchildren.
The body will be at the church until services.
Petronilla Birkenfeld
NAZARETH - Services for Petronilla Birkenfeld, 82, of Nazareth will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerry Stein, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Family cemetery under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home.
She died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at Hereford Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 4, 1917, in Nazareth. She graduated from Nazareth High School. She attended nursing school in Jonesboro, Ark. She worked for the VA hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, where she retired in 1972 and returned to Nazareth. She was a member of the Order of Catholic Daughters, Order of Martha (quilters), Nazareth Museum, Member of Nazareth Senior Citizens and Holy Family Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary Hoelting of Olpe, Kan., Juliana Brockman of Plainview and Dora Pohlmeier of Nazareth; and a brother, John Birkenfeld of Hereford.
The body will be at Wallace Funeral Home in Tulia until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. She will then be taken to the CCD Building at the church in Nazareth from 2 p.m. until service time. A prayer vigil will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the CCD building in Nazareth.
The family suggests memorials to Nazareth Museum.
Lawrence Gregory
HOBBS, N.M. - Services for Lawrence W. Gregory, 63, of Hobbs will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Chapel of Hope Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Broom officiating.
Burial will be in Prairie Haven cemetery.
He died Sunday, April 25, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born Dec. 3, 1935, in Olean, N.Y. He owned and operated Evans Machine Works. He was a member of the Hobbs American Legion.
Survivors include a son, Doug of Hobbs; a daughter, Susan Calahan of New Braunfels; a sister, Judy Gore of Ward, Ark.; a brother, James of Midland; his mother, Alfreda Rea Gregory of Lovington, N.M.; and three grandchildren.
Santos Rando
Services for Santos Rando, 82, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Primera Iglesia Bautista with Lupe Rando officiating and Porfirio Bas assisting.
Burial will be in City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
He died Sunday, April 18, 1999.
He was born Dec. 2, 1916, in Goliad. He married
Maria Jimenez Rando on Oct. 5, 1935, in Pin Rock. He worked as a farmer and a salesman.
Survivors include his wife; nine sons, Ray Rando of Friona, Lupe Rando of Floydada, Santos Rando of Friona, Benie Rando of Lubbock, Joe Rando of Colorado, Pete Rando of Amarillo, Jesse Rando and Johnny Rando, both of Tennessee, and Delton Rando of Dilley; six daughters, Leonora Bengoa of Lubbock, Virginia Coronado of Friona, Mary Rando of Denton, Lisa Bergman of Nebraska, Jackie Rando of Lufkin and Betty R. Guerra of Pittsburg; 47 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Ralph Russell
MONAHANS - Services for Ralph Russell, 83, of Monahans will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Fairview cemetery in Midland under direction of Harkey Funeral Home of Monahans.
Russell died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, in Lubbock.
He was born Aug. 26, 1915, in Wooster, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army. He moved to Monahans in 1935. He was a nurseryman.
Survivors include a brother, Don B. of Lubbock.
Jeanie Hobgood
Services for Jeanie Hobgood, 68, of Abernathy will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Abernathy Church of Christ with David Bennett officiating.
Burial will be in Abernathy cemetery under direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
She died Monday, March 8, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 25, 1931, in Lubbock. She married
U.O. Hobgood on Nov. 26, 1949, in Clovis, N.M. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Monty of Wolfforth, Mark of Lubbock and Clay of Abernathy; two daughters, Teresa Downs of San Francisco, Calif., and Sherri Davis of Lubbock; a sister, Wanda Taylor of Lubbock; a brother, William Scott of Fort Worth; and six grandsons.
Leason Dale
LEVELLAND - Graveside services for Leason E. Dale, 76, of Levelland will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the City of Levelland cemetery with the Rev. Tim Turner, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, officiating.
Burial will be under direction of Geo. C. Price Funeral Directors.
Dale died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in Lynnwood Manor in Levelland.
He was born Oct. 22, 1922, in West Virginia. He moved to Levelland from San Antonio in 1996. He was a former Lubbock resident. He retired from the U.S. Air Force at the rank of senior master sergeant. He worked for the City of Lubbock. He moved to San Antonio and worked for Methodist Hospital until retiring. He drove school buses for the San Antonio School System.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty George of Levelland; a son, Randy Dale of Lubbock; a brother; a sister; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
