Eugene Reynolds

Cremation services for Eugene Reynolds, 72, of Brooksville, Fla., are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

He died Sunday, April 18, 1999, in Lubbock.

He was born July 18, 1926, in Wewoka, Okla. He moved to Brooksville in 1990. He graduated from Sweetwater High School in Chula Vista, Calif., and attended college in San Diego. He married Margaret "Margo" Stewart on May 12, 1967, in Las Vegas, Nev. He retired from Timet in Las Vegas in 1986. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Robyn Reynold of Oklahoma City and Sue Ferguson of Myrtle Creek, Ore.; three sons, Ernie Norman of West Palm Beach, Fla., Joe Norman of Myrtle Creek, Ore., and Gary Norman of Richmond, Va.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 3511 48th Street from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today.

Hazel Standlee

Services for Hazel Standlee, 91, of Grapevine will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dave Treat and Rev. Herb Tavenner officiating.

Burial will be in City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.

She died in Grapevine on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999.

She was born Nov. 7, 1907, in Bellvue. She married Horace B. Standlee on May 27, 1928, in Halfway. She graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon and Texas Tech. She was a teacher for 30 years, most of that being in the Lubbock public schools. Her memberships include a lifelong membership in the Methodist Church and Kappa Kappa Iota where she served as state president for one year. She moved to Grapevine in 1994. Her husband, the Rev. Horace B. Standlee, died on March 31, 1961.

Survivors include two sons, William Standlee and of Grapevine and Horace Welborn Standlee of Weatherford; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to Asbury United Methodist Church, 2005 Ave. T, Lubbock 79411.

Frank Stringer

LAMESA - Services for Frank Stringer, 86, of Lamesa will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Crestview Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifton Igo, pastor emeritus of Second Baptist Church, officiating. The Rev. Pat Githens, pastor, will assist.

Burial will be in Lamesa Memorial Park cemetery under direction of Branon Funeral Home.

Stringer died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, in Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Okla.

He was born Jan. 7, 1913, in Lumpkin, Ga. He married Lillie Kate Steelman on Dec. 14, 1935, in Lamesa. She died Sept. 19, 1994. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He owned Stringer Drilling. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. A son, Billy Ray Stringer, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Donald Gene of Lawton; two sisters, Bessie Ellis of Ruidoso, N.M., and Belle Feagan of San Antonio; four brothers, Bob of Irving, Jack of Hobbs and Joe and Jeff, both of Lamesa; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mamie Goodgion

Graveside services for Mamie May Goodgion, 73, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Byars cemetery, Byars, Okla.

Burial is under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

She died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center.

She was born July 12, 1925, in Quanah. She graduated from Roaring Springs High School and married George E. Goodgion in Floydada. He died in 1971. She worked for Dr. A.L. Daniel in Lubbock and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1989. She had lived in Lubbock since 1950 and was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Barney B. Capshaw, in 1976 and a sister, Irma Capshaw, in 1993.

Survivors include a son, Doug Goodgion of Lubbock; four brothers, Ira Wayne Capshaw of Fayetteville, Ark., Sidney Calvin Capshaw of Waco, Bobby Frank Capshaw of Boise, Idaho, and G.B. Capshaw of Hurst.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Robert Bybee Sr.

Services for Robert E. Bybee Sr., 79, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bacon Heights Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Jimmy McGuire, associate pastor.

Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Jayton cemetery in Jayton under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

Bybee died Sunday, April 18, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center.

He was born March 14, 1920, in Paris, Texas. He moved to Lubbock in 1965 from Borger. He married Louise Smith on Oct. 27, 1945, in Phillips. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a medic, and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of Bacon Heights Baptist Church and the Disabled American Veterans. He retired in civil service from Reese Air Force Base in 1985.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Robert E. Jr. of Eldorado; two daughters, Diana Barhoover of Carrollton and Debbie Free of Fort Worth; two brothers, Jimmy Bybee of Southfork, Colo., and Weldon Bybee of Borger; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family suggest memorials be made to Bacon Heights Baptist Church Mission Fund.

Severo Lopez

LEVELLAND - Rosary for Severo "Sam" Lopez, 50, of Levelland will be at 7 p.m. today and Sunday in Head Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Michael's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ron Krisman, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in the City of Levelland cemetery.

Lopez died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, in Covenant Hospital in Levelland.

He was born Feb. 21, 1948, in Three Rivers. He moved to Levelland from Three Rivers in 1979. He was a law enforcement officer for 10 years with the Hockley County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his mother, Rosalita Cano Lopez of Levelland; three sons, Delvon, Jason and Aaron, all of Levelland; a stepdaughter, Yevonne Alvarez of Levelland; six brothers, Faustino Jr., Adam, Juan, Jose Raymundo and Armando, all of Levelland and Mario of Austin; and four sisters, Margaret Lopez, Mary Ann Torres and Beatrice Valadez, all of Levelland and Jovita Rangel of Austin.

Billy Dorman

Services for Billy N. Dorman, 83, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at W.W. Rix Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Williams officiating.

Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.

Dorman died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at Covenant Lakeside Hospital.

He was born April 17, 1916, in Eldorado, Okla. He married Nellie Price in September 1938 in Lubbock. Upon graduation from Littlefield High School, he was employed by Crystal Ice Co., then was a mechanic at Kelly Air Force Base and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Following the war, he entered business, forming an association with Texaco operating service stations as an independent dealer until retiring. Since his retirement, he had been involved in farming. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, and he was a Mason.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Robby Jackson of Paradise Valley, Ariz., and Brenda Faught of Midland; a sister, Beatrice Haeger of Oklahoma City; and four grandchildren.
