O'DONNELL - Mass for Maria Esparza, 67, of O'Donnell will be Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Pius X in O'Donnell with the Rev. Bert Mead officiating.
Burial will be at O'Donnell City cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.
She died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at her residence.
She was born July 24, 1931 in Waxahachie. She married
Jesus Esparza. She was a homemaker. She lived in O'Donnell for 40 years coming from San Antonio. She was a Catholic.
Her husband died in 1980.
Survivors include three daughters, Guadalupe Esparza, Rosa Linda Esparza, and Eloisa Esparza, all of O'Donnell; four sisters, Siria Vargas, Caroline Benavidez, and Linda Montes, all of O'Donnell and Senida Montes of Greenbay.
The body will be at the church until service time.
Joe Payne
PLAINVIEW - Graveside services for Joe Truett Payne, 81, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. today at Mount Carmel cemetery in Wolfe City with the Rev. Kevin Mitchell, First Baptist Church of Wolfe City, officiating.
Burial will be in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.
He died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born Oct. 2, 1917, in Fannin County. He married
Patsye Traylor on June 4, 1950, in Plainview. He came to Plainview after World War II. He owned and operated with his wife Payne's Gift & Jewelry for 38 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of First Baptist Church and 17th Airborne Division, which he served from 1941-1945 during World War II. His unit took part in the occupation of Berlin. He was a captain and received the Bronze Star and was in the Battle of the Bulge.
Survivors include his wife; three sisters, Mildred Leimenstal of San Antonio, Gertrude McKelvy and Bess Caldwell, both of Dallas; and two brothers, Paul Payne of Pampa and Bob Payne of Phoenix, Ariz.
Memorial services will be on a later date.
The family suggests memorials to Northwest Texas Chapter Myostheana Gravis Foundation, P.O. Box 766, Muleshoe 79347 or favorite charity.
Martin Martinez Sr.
Services for Martin M. Martinez Sr., 80, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. today at Our Lady of Grace with Jesse Guerrero, deacon, officiating.
Burial will be in City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
He died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center-Lakeside.
He was born Nov. 12, 1918, in San Pedro, Coahuila, Mexico. He married
Maria De Jesus Martinez on Sept. 18, 1941, in San Pedro. He worked 10 years for the Lubbock Independent School District as a custodian. He retired in 1984.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Alberto Martinez, Jose Luis Martinez, Juan Antonio Martinez, Martin Martinez Jr., all of Lubbock, Francisco Martinez of Slaton and Cecilio Martinez of Lubbock; four daughters, Hilaria Valdez of California, Francisca Flores of Mission, Rosa Maria Reyna of San Antonio, Silvana Flores of Lubbock; three brothers, Cipriano M. Martinez and Pedro Martinez, both of Del Rio, and Leocaudio Martinez of Acuna, Mexico; a sister, Enriquetta Martinez of Fort Worth; 29 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Billy Brown
Services for Billy Earl Brown, 52, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Monday at A.W. Wilson Chapel at Jamison's Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Jamison's Funeral Home.
He died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at University Medical Center.
He was born July 24, 1947, in Collidge. He was a member of One Way Church of God in Christ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended Lubbock schools.
Survivors include his father, the Rev. Jimmy D. Brown of Lubbock; a son, Billy Earl Brown Jr. of Lubbock; two daughters, Shandra Brown of Lubbock and LaToya Brown of Hamlin; two brothers, Jimmy Brown Jr. and Floyd Ray Brown, both of Lubbock; a sister, Ruthie Mae Thorton of Lubbock; and six grandchildren.
Linda Tyler
BAIRD - Graveside services for Linda Tyler, 64, of Baird will be at 10 a.m. today at Memorial Gardens cemetery in Levelland with the Rev. Tim Turner, pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Levelland, officiating.

She died Monday, June 21, 1999, at Hendrick Memorial Hospital in Abilene.
She was born May 27, 1935, in Vernon, Ohio. She moved to Baird in 1989 from Levelland. She married
Bill Tyler on July 1, 1951, in Los Angeles, Calif. She was director of nursing for Levelland Nursing Home for a while before moving.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Billy Paul Tyler of Abilene; three daughters, Linda Nail of Baird, Anita Louise Grant of Levelland and Regina Renee Saucedo of Abilene; two brothers, Clifford Vischer of Ravenna, Ohio and Ernest Vischer of Sharon, Pa.; a sister, Beulah Witherstine of Baird; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Clyde Pearce
Graveside services for Clyde E. Pearce, 85, of Big Spring will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olive Memorial Park with the Rev. Wanda Hill, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Coahoma, officiating.
Burial will be under direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
He died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999.
He was born Nov. 4, 1913, in Madill, Okla. He married
Pauline King in 1934 in Eastland. He worked in the oil business, and he moved back to Big Spring in 1983 from Colorado City. He was active with the Spring City Senior Citizen Center.
Survivors include his wife; two daughter, Judy LeDoux of Dallas and Kay Kelly of Houston; two sons, Jack of Odessa and Dick of Lubbock; three sisters, Wanda Horton of Big Spring, Lela Mae Davidson of Milburn, Okla., and Billie Caughey of Marlow, Okla.; a brother, John Leonard Pearce of Manderson, Wyo.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. until service time.
Nancy Blake
CORPUS CHRISTI Services for Nancy Parr Blake, 103, of Corpus Christi will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Seaside Funeral Home Chapel in Corpus Christi.
She died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, in Heritage Oaks Nursing Home in Lubbock.
She was born May 22, 1896, in Halletsville. She married
James S. Blake in 1914 in Goliad. He died June 15, 1956. She was a member of Morgan Avenue Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Arthur Lawrence Blake and Eugene Franklin Blake Sr.; a granddaughter, Sheryl Leah Dukes; and two grandsons, James Lawrence Blake and Eugene Franklin Blake Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William P. Dukes of Lubbock; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. before the services.
