SPUR - Services for Martha Bailey, 81, of Spur will be at 1 p.m. today at Highway 70 Church of Christ with the Clay Mason officiating.
Burial will be in Spur Memorial cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
She died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Crosbyton Hospital.
She was born Aug. 30, 1918, in Corsicana. She was a longtime resident of Dickens County. She married
Delbert Bailey on Oct. 17, 1937, in Dickens. He died on July 24, 1984.
Survivors include two sons, Alfred Joe Bailey of Irving and Robert Bailey of Amarillo; a daughter, Madeline Lanier of Jacksonville; a brother, Charlie Dillashaw of Spur; a sister, Mable Reynolds of Spur; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Royce Vaughn
PLAINVIEW - Services for Royce Ben Vaughn, 74, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Plainview Memorial Park with the Rev. A.C. Hamilton, a retired Baptist minister, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park under direction of Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.
Vaughn died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in Care Inn of Plainview.
He was born March 3, 1925, in Wade, Okla. He graduated from Plainview High School. He moved to Arlington in 1970, and he returned to Plainview in 1978. He was a farmer.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Stevens of Bedford; two sons, Randall of San Diego and Chris of Little Elm; two sisters, Evelyn Stewart of San Diego and Marjorie Lanford of Plainview; and five grandchildren.
Terry Rogers
LOVINGTON, N.M. - Services for Terry Rogers, 43, of Lovington, N.M., will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethany Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leon Green officiating.
Burial will be in Lovington cemetery under direction of Bethany Funeral Home.
He died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at his residence.
He was born June 24, 1956, in Hobbs, N.M. He graduated from Tatum High School in 1974. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include five sisters, Shonna McFarlin and Cheryl Jackson, both of Lovington, N.M., Vicki Brock of Thornton, Colo., Frankie Rogers of Rosevelt, Utah and Sherry Rogers of Welch; four nephews; and four nieces.
Claudia Henderson
TAHOKA - Graveside services for Claudia Cleo Henderson, 82, of Norman, Okla., will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Tahoka cemetery with the Rev. Lynn Long of Sweet Street Baptist Church officiating.
Burial is under direction of White Funeral Home.
She died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, at Norman Hospital in Oklahoma.
She was born July 6, 1917 in Tahoka. She attended Tahoka schools. She worked at Wholesome Bakery in Roswell, N.M., for several years. She was Baptist.
Survivors include a sister, Lola Bell Henderson.
Nena Caudle
Services for Nena Downey Caudle, 85, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Cleve Haley, pastor of Oakwood Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Hale Center cemetery under direction of Lemons Funeral Home.
She died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at University Medical Center.
She was born May 23, 1914, in Frost where she grew up and graduated from high school. She attended college for two and a half years and moved to Dallas. She married
Robert Caudle on June 8, 1940, in Dallas. They moved to Hale Center in 1940 and were in the ginning business. They moved to Halfway in 1942 and Plainview in 1952 where they had partnership in West Side Gin and later 400 Gin. In 1969 they moved to Dallas and then to Lubbock in 1982. She was a member of the Plainview Altrusa Club, Lubbock Christian Women's Club, and Oakwood Baptist Church. While a member of First Baptist Church in Plainview, she taught Sunday school and worked with the Sunbeams and the G.A.'s She served as president of the Women's Missionary Union for two years.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Kay Ehle of Greeley, Colo., and Betty Horan of Plainview; a brother, John Downey of Halfway; four grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
Alicia Garza
SNYDER - Rosary for Alicia S. Garza, 69, of Snyder will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with deacon Frank Ortegon officiating.
Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Leo Moras officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
She died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 5, 1930, in Kingsville. She married
Fermin Garza on March 15, 1954, in Kingsville. She had lived in Snyder since shortly after her marriage. She worked at a local nursing home for 10 years.
Survivors include three sons, Fermin Garza of San Antonio, Rudy Garza of Hewitt and Joe Richard Garza of Snyder; two daughters, Thelma Garza and Mary Ramos, both of Snyder; a brother, Jose Salinas of Kansas City, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
Joe Payne
PLAINVIEW - Services for Joe Truett Payne, 81, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating.
He died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born October 2, 1917, in Fannin County. He was a captain during World War II. He received the Bronze Star and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He moved to Plainview after the war. He married
Patsye Traylor on June 4, 1950, in Plainview. He owned and operated Payne's Gift & Jewelry for 38 years before retiring in 1992. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the 17th Airborne Division.
Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Bob of Phoenix, Ariz., and Paul of Pampa; and three sisters, Mildred Leimenstal of San Antonio, Gertrude McKelvy of Dallas, and Bess Caldwell of Dallas.
The family suggests memorials to the Northwest Texas Chapter Myostheana Gravis Foundation, P.O. Box 766, Muleshoe, 79347, or to a favorite charity.
Ema Armstrong
TULIA - Services for Ema "Chuba" Armstrong, 94, of Tulia will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommy Ewing officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home.
She died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Covenant Hospital.
She was born Nov. 12, 1904, in Snyder. She moved to Swisher County in 1908 from Post. She graduated from Kress High School.
She worked for the ration office in Tulia during World War II. She later worked for Noland Bagley Insurance Co. as a bookkeeper for 18 years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 33.
She married
Otto E. Behrends in July 1924 in Plainview. He died on Aug. 22, 1931. She then married
Frank J. Armstrong on Dec. 4, 1936, in Clovis, N.M. He died on Nov. 17, 1978. She was also preceded in death by three step-sons.
Survivors include a son, Eddie Behrends of Tulia; a step-son, Everett Armstrong of Brownfield; a step-daughter, Lillian Armstrong of Cleveland, Ohio; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
