Evangeline Abell

Services for Evangeline Baxter Abell, 85, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at W.W. Rix Chapel with the Rev. Paul Cunningham officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.

She died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at Lutheran Home.

She was born Dec. 22, 1913, in Houston. She married Dr. R.Z. Abell on Oct. 18, 1950, in Albuquerque, N.M. He died Sept. 5, 1988.

She was a homemaker and a charter member and past vice president of the Auxiliary to Texas Osteopathic Medical Association. She was also a member and past president of Trowel and Error Garden Club, past president of Women of the Church at Westminster Presbyterian Church, a charter member of Community Church, Lubbock Women's Club, Symphony Guild and West Texas Museum.

Survivors include two sons, Rusty Abell of Lubbock and Bill Gribble of San Juan, Puerto Rico; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Lubbock, P.O. Box 53276, Lubbock 79453.

Margaret Brito

Rosary for Margaret Renee Brito, 16, of Lubbock will be said at 7 p.m. today in Sanders Memorial Chapel.

Funeral mass will celebrated be at 10:00 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Glenn Rosendale officiating.

Burial will be in the City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

She died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, in the Covenant Children's Hospital.

She was born May 4, 1983, in Lubbock. She was involved in ballet and athletics prior to her illness. She was a junior at Lubbock High School and had been invited to attend a Presidential Leadership Conference at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She was selected for the Who's Who of American High School Students. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her mother, Michelle Magallan of Lubbock; her father, Jerry Brito of Lubbock; a sister, Grace of Lubbock; her maternal grandmother, Santos Mendez of Lubbock; her paternal grandparents, Benny and Adela Brito of Lubbock; her maternal great-grandparents, Frances Rodriguez of Lubbock and Felipe and Maria Quinones of Lubbock; and her paternal great-grandparents, Elvira Segura of Lubbock and Pete Brito of California.

The family suggests memorials to the Make A Wish Foundation of Lubbock.

Narcisa Garcia

WOLFFORTH - Rosary for Narcisa Garcia, 75, of Wolfforth will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Monday at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Wolfforth with the Rev. George A. Roney officiating.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

She died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at her home.

She was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Beaukiss. She married Cruz Ramon Garcia on June 26, 1959, in Lubbock. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the Guadalupana.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Juan R. Garcia of Wolfforth and Cruz R. Garcia Jr. of Lubbock; a daughter, Raquel High of Wolfforth; three brothers, Vincente Rosales and Jesse Rosales, both of Lubbock, and Jose Rosales of Wolfforth; three sisters, Delores Galaviz, Margaret Moreno and Sandy Rosales, all of Lubbock; and seven grandchildren.

Doris Moore

SPUR - Services for Doris "Henri" Sargent Moore, 82, of Spur will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church of Spur with the Rev. Larry Burton officiating.

Burial will be in Spur Memorial cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

She died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.

She was born March 1, 1917, in Haskell Co. She was a graduate of McMurry University in Abilene. She married John F. Moore on Jan. 17, 1942, in Paducah. He preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1992. She taught elementary school in Spur for 38 years before retiring. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and taught Little Primary Sunday School class for many years.

Survivors include two brothers, Charles Sargent of Pleasanton and Bob Sargent of Arlington; two sisters, Ouida Shubert and Chat Adams, both of Haskell; and several nieces and nephews.

Seraphine Gonzales

HALE CENTER - Graveside services for Seraphine Gonzales, 80, of Hale Center, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Joe Lee officiating.

Burial is under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

He died Thursday, Dec, 9, 1999, at High Plains Nursing Home in Hale Center.

He was born Nov. 5, 1919, in Tecolotito, N.M. He married Jeanne Mare Faulkner on Nov. 12, 1948, in Lakewood, Colo. She died May 24, 1974. He retired after 30 years of teaching in Denver public schools. He was a corpsman in the United States Army during World War II. He lived in Denver for 76 years.

Survivors include a son, James Faulkner of Montrose, Colo.; and two daughters, Jeanne Barthel of Englewood, Colo., and Janeen Hyman of Hale Center.

Abel Aleman Sr.

PLAINVIEW - Memorial services for Abel Silvas Aleman Sr., 54, of Dublin, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Elbert Fadallan officiating.

Cremation is under the direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.

He died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, in Abilene.

He was born Dec. 2, 1944, in Sinton. He attended schools in South Texas. He moved to Floydada from Dublin in 1963. He was a farmer and a mechanic in Floydada. He was a Catholic.

Survivors include two sons, Abel of Littlefield and Adam of Friona; his mother, Julia Aleman of Dublin; two brothers, Adelfino and Alfredo, both of Floydada; four sisters, Elida Martinez of Floydada and Victoria Aleman, Frances Cantu and Grace Sierra, all of Dublin; and four grandchildren.

William McCleskey

PLAINVIEW - Memorial services for William Carroll "Mack" McCleskey, 80, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Max Browning officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home.

He died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at his home.

He was born Aug. 28, 1919, in Bluffdale. He married Mary Elizabeth Stagner on Sept. 3, 1943, in Clovis, N.M. He attended Eastern New Mexico University and Tarlton State. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He worked in construction for Stagner and Sons. He moved to Albuquerque, N.M., in 1963 and worked for Transwestern Pipeline. He moved to Lubbock in 1987 and to Plainview in 1998. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Plainview.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Bill of Gordonville; a daughter, Sue Douglass of Plainview; two sisters, June Short of Dalhart and Vydell Imoe of Clovis, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Anna Loveless

Services for Anna M. Loveless, 72, formerly of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Monterey Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens Mausoleum under direction of Rest Lawn, Wilsons' Funeral Directors.

She died Monday, June 22, 1999, in East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairle, La. She was born September 13, 1926, and married Ralph C. Loveless on May 9, 1946. She was retired from the Education Service Center. She was a former member of Monterey Baptist Church.

Her husband died in November of 1995.

Survivors include a son, Don of Forney; two daughters, Sharon Simmons of Metairle, La., and Nancy Loveless of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
