Services for M.C. "Cully" Watson, 89, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Pampa with the Revs. Jim Teeter and Gene Allen officiating.
Burial will be in Memory Gardens cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
He died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at Lubbock Hospitality.
He was born on June 15, 1909, in Shields. He had been a 39-year resident of Pampa before moving to Lubbock four years ago. He married
Mamie Pitcock on April 13, 1929, in Twitty. She preceded him in death. He was a retired farmer and a master pipefitter. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Local Pipefitters and Plumbers Union No. 654 in Abilene and St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Lubbock.
Survivors include a daughter, Maritta Mills Wheeler of Lubbock; a son, Harold Gene Watson of Pampa; three sisters, Susan Stafford of Edinburg, Vivian Vaughan of Alvarado and Margaret Waltrip of Alice; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home in Pampa.
Dorthy Dunn
LOVINGTON, N.M., Graveside services for Dorthy Elaine Dunn, 76, of Lovington will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lovington cemetery with Michael Raburn officiating.
Burial will be under the direction of Smith-Rogers Funeral Home.
She died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at her residence.
She was born May 30, 1922, in Campbell. She married
Charley (C.W.) Dunn on June 6, 1940, in Gavilan, N.M. She was a long time resident of Lovington. In June, she and her husband would have been married
for 59 years.
Survivors include her husband; six daughters, Naomi Rose of Jerome, Idaho, Marian Griffith of Broken Bow, Okla., Katherine Schilling of Hobbs, N.M., Junita Irwin of Lubbock, Jannett Evans of Lovington and Ruby Owens of Lovington; two brothers, Johnny Allmon of Hobbs and Mitchell Allmon of McPherson, Kan; 20 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Beulah McKinney
Memorial services for Beulah McKinney, 79, of Lubbock will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Elgin Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Reg Bridges and David Border officiating.
She died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center.
She was born on Aug. 7, 1919 in Lewisburg, Ky. She moved to Colorado in 1922 and married
Eldridge McKinney on Nov. 1, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1983. They moved to Lubbock in 1981.
She worked for the Bank of Fairplay and Southpark School District in Colorado and for Liberty State Bank in Lubbock. She was a member of Elgin Avenue Baptist Church. She taught children's Sunday school and vacation Bible school for 43 years.
Survivors include a son, Joe of Lubbock; two daughters, Barbara Shank and Carol Collins, both of Lubbock; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Arthritis Foundation.
Beryl Shanks
KIRKLAND - Graveside services for Beryl Pollard Shanks, 87, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Kirkland cemetery in Kirkland with the Rev. Jim McCurley, pastor of First Baptist Church in Childress, officiating.
Burial will be under direction of Seigler Funeral Home of Matador.
She died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in Horizon Specialty Hospital in Lubbock.
She was born Nov. 19, 1911, in Quanah. She married
Luther Ned Shanks on March 2, 1937, in Childress. They lived in Childress County for several years, and they lived in Matador from 1950 until 1960. She moved to Lubbock in 1995. She was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include two sons, Mike of Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic, and John of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Rosemary Webb of Lubbock; a sister, Gertrude Sharp of Quanah; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mason Justice
POST - Services for Mason Justice, 77, of Post will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in First Christian Church with Jack Alexander, minister, officiating.
Burial will be in Terrace cemetery under direction of Justice-Mason Funeral Home of Post and Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Justice died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in St. Mary Plaza.
He was born July 5, 1921, on the Justice Ranch near Justiceburg. He attended school at Post and graduated from Post High School in 1938. He attended Wayland Baptist College and Texas Tech, and he joined the U.S. Army in 1942. He served during World War II in the Fifth Army Airborne Division. He returned to Post in 1945. He married
Skeeter Smith on July 24, 1947, in Post. They lived in Crosbyton, and he worked for the Texas State Highway Department.
In 1948, they bought the General Store and Post Office in Justiceburg. He served as Garza county commissioner in the Justiceburg area from 1959 to 1967. He was a contract pumper for Burk Royalty Co. from 1956 to 1990. He was the postmaster at Justiceburg from 1971 to 1997. He served as a deacon of First Christian Church. He was a lifetime member of the John Miller Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6796.
Survivors include a son, Dee of Post; a sister, Cameron Beth Price of Lubbock; and two grandsons, Bryan and Brent, both of Post.

Jimmie Carr
LEVELLAND - Services for Jimmie Carr, 85, of Levelland will be at 10 a.m. today in Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor, officiating.

She died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in Covenant Hospital.
She was born Sept. 15, 1913, in Dawson, N.M. She moved to Levelland from Fullerton, Calif., in 1977. She married
I.T. Carr on Oct. 10, 1931, in Clovis, N.M. She was a homemaker and a member of Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Janie Johnson of Levelland; three sons, Jim of Anaheim, Calif., Jerry of Washougal, Wash., and Gary of Corona, Calif.; four sisters, Audrey Blair and June Moreland, both of Levelland, and Ruth Berry and Jackie Stephenson, both of Lubbock; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Carl Bruce
Services for Carl Bruce, 79, of Lubbock, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles F. Johnson, pastor, officiating.
Cremation will follow under direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
He died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at home.
He was born May 20, 1919, in Cunningham. He was a U.S. Army sergeant serving in the Aleutian Islands during World War II. He married
Charline Garrison on Jan. 23, 1948, in Lubbock. He retired in 1987 from Gene Messer Ford as fleet truck sales manager.
He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a member of VFW Post No. 2466, a charter member of the Scottish Rite Free Masonry-S.J. USA and a 32nd degree Mason with Yellowhouse Lodge No. 841.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Eugene of Lubbock; a sister, Lucille Ownsbey of Lubbock; and a brother, Frank of North Little Rock, Ark.
The family will receive friends today from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Glen Patterson
ABERNATHY - Graveside services for Glen Wayne Patterson, 56, of Lubbock will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Abernathy cemetery with David Bennett, a Church of Christ minister, officiating.
Burial will be under direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.
Patterson died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 25, 1942, in Abernathy. He married
Evelyne I. Hanna in August 1966, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was a longtime Lubbock resident. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1969. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Nannie Lou Patterson of Lubbock; two daughters, Catherine Creager of Lubbock and Wanda Patterson of Austin; two sons, Richard of Brownfield and Roy of Lubbock; two brothers, Jerry of Lubbock and Doyle of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
The body will be at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Daniel Flores Sr.
ANDREWS - Rosary for Daniel R. Flores Sr., 65, of Andrews will be at 7 p.m. today at McNett Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernard Gully, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Andrews West cemetery.
He died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at Andrews Healthcare Center.
He was born Jan. 19, 1934, in Ozona. He moved from Ozona to Andrews in 1954. He married
Nicolasa Ramos on Feb. 11, 1955, in Midland. He had worked for the Andrews County Hospital for 10 years, Andrews County Golf Course, C&R; Trucking in Andrews for 15 years and Tucker Construction in Andrews for 11 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel R. Flores Jr. on May 15, 1991.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Fernando and Leonardo, both of Andrews; a daughter, Minerva Garcia of San Angelo; eight brothers, Leandro and Jaime, both of San Angelo; Jessie, Baldemar, and Omero, all of Ozona, Ismael of Corpus Christi, Matthew of Del Rio, and Mimo of Fort Worth; four sisters, Victoria De La Garza of Ozona, Elisa De Hoyas and Hilda Porras, both of San Angelo, and Virginia Gonzales of Midland; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Joel Chavez Sr.
Prayer services for Joel Chavez Sr., 52, of Lubbock will be at 7 p.m. today in W.W. Rix Chapel.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the same chapel with the Rev. David Chavez officiating.
Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
Chavez died Friday, April 23, 1999, in El Paso.
He was born July 23, 1946, in Harlingen. He earned an associate's degree from South Plains College in Levelland. He worked for the City of Lubbock prior to moving to El Paso. He was a member of the United Methodist church. He was involved with the Cardboard Box Community. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Reserves. He was a sergeant.
Survivors include his mother, Anita Chavez of Arlington; three children, Sally Chavez of Grand Prairie and Joel Chavez Jr. and Lori Chavez, both of Lubbock; four brothers, the Rev. David Chavez of Arlington, Juan Chavez of College Station, Daniel Chavez of El Paso and Jesse Chavez of Wichita Falls; four sisters, Noemi Chavez of Rio Grande City, Rachel Valdez of Abilene, Elizabeth Aguirre of Wichita Falls and Lonnie Coler of Roswell, N.M.; and five grandchildren.

J. Ed Crooks

Burial will be in Terry County Memorial cemetery under direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Crooks died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, in Wolfforth.
He was born March 4, 1913, in Brown County. He married
Flossie Gibbs on Dec. 3, 1932, in Clovis, N.M. She died Oct. 1, 1993. He was raised in Slaton. He moved to Terry County from Lynn County in 1960. He farmed in the Pool Community and Lynn County. He retired in 1973. He was a member of the Brownfield Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Harold of Lubbock and Rev. James David of Mena, Ark.; two daughters, Martha Whitfield of Florida and Kathleen Smith of Lubbock; a sister, Nita Warren of Lubbock; a brother, Billy M. Crooks of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
