Ray Diekemper Jr.
Services for Ray J. Diekemper Jr., 80, of Lubbock, will be held 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Cliff Wright and Sam Nader officiating.

He was born July 14, 1919, in Terre Haute, Ind., and was a graduate of Stanford University and the Harvard Business School. He served as a Deck Officer during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He married
Lou Dunn in Colorado Springs, Colo., on June 14, 1952. He was an independent oil operator, founder and president of the South Plains Food Bank, Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, and the Lubbock Economic Council. He also served on the board of directors of several organizations including: Texas Research Bank, West Texas Museum Association and the United Way. He served on the Lubbock City Council. He was past president and member of Lubbock Rotary Club, which named him a Paul Harris Fellow. Other activities included involvement in the Adopt-A-School program, Casa De Amistad, All Saints, Girlstown, the Lubbock Area Foundation and Texas Tech.
Survivors include his wife, Lou; three daughters Mia Diekemper, Lou Ann Bergstein and Diane Burchard, all of Lubbock; a sister, Evaline Diekemper of Palm Springs, Calif.; a brother, Joe W. Diekemper of Prescott, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.
There will be a visitation immediately following the service in the church parlor.
The family suggests memorials to the South Plains Food Bank, 4610 Locust Ave., Lubbock, 79404.
Julian Aguilar
Rosary for Julian J. Aguilar, 71, of Buffalo Gap will be at 7 p.m. today at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim O'Connor officiating.
Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
He died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, in Lubbock.
He was born June 19, 1929, in Briggs. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Julie Delgado of Lubbock; a sister, Sabina Martinez of Lubbock; two brothers, Joe of Sweetwater and Roy of Denver, Colo.; a half sister, Senona Chestnut of San Diego, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Mae Abshier
BROWNFIELD Services for Mae Salinas Abshier, 51, of Littlefield, formerly of Lubbock, were Monday at Head Family Funeral Home Chapel in Brownfield.
Burial was in Brownfield cemetery in Brownfield under the direction of Head Family Funeral Home.
She died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at her Littlefield residence.
She was born on May 8, 1949, in Karnes County. She married
James L. Abshier on Feb. 10, 1988, in Littlefield. She was a lifelong Texan. She moved to Littlefield from Lubbock in 1988.
Until retiring three years ago, she worked in the probation department in the Lubbock County Courthouse. She also had been a teacher and was a member of the Lutheran church.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Pamela Danay Salas, on March 25, 1999.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jane Gonzales of Brownfield; her mother, Janie Ybarbo of Lubbock; two sisters, Josie Trimble of Corona, N.M., and Esther Ybarbo of Pflugerville; five brothers, Paul Salinas of Littlefield, Tommy Salinas of Olton, George Salinas of Fort Worth, Marty Salinas of Burleson and Junior Ybarbo of Littlefield; and one grandson.
Orville Aycock
ASPERMONT Services for Orville E. Aycock, 86, of Aspermont will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Byrd officiating.
Burial will be in Aspermont cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
He died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000 in an Aspermont nursing center.
He was born in Stonewall County. He was a mechanic and a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Wilson of Lubbock and Nancy Aycock of Montgomery, Ala.; a sister, Inez Ball of Seymour; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Damiana Carmona
PLAINVIEW Services for Damiana Carmona, 89, of Plainview will be at 4 p.m. today at Date Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen E. Godsey officiating.
Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, in Plainview.
She was born Sept. 27, 1911, in Mexico. She married
Victor Carmona Aug. 27, 1964, in Huntsville. He preceded her in death.
She moved to Plainview in 1988. She was a Sunday school teacher, and a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista and Woman's Missionary Union.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Naomi Juarez of Huntsville, and nieces and nephews.
Augustin Garcia

He died in Lubbock.
He was born Oct. 17, 1923, in Temple. He moved to Lubbock in 1940 from Temple. He married
Jesusa Morales on Nov. 20, 1942, in Lubbock. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Andrea Quintana and Gloria Leal, both of Lubbock, Mary Helen Garcia of Tennessee, and Inosencia Hernandez of Midland; a brother, Santos of Lubbock; four sisters, Paula Villarreal, Felicita Garcia and Petra Guajardo, all of Lubbock, and Herminia Garcia of Colorado; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Lillie Pope
EDEN Graveside services for Lillie Wynelle Bishop Pope, 66, of Eden will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Eden cemetery.
Burial is under the direction of Eden Funeral Home.
She died on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000.
She was born on April 24, 1934, in Brady. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Calvin; her mother, Lille Mae Brandon of Eden; a brother, Buddy Brandon of Sonora; two daughters, Debora K. Mayfield and Pamela Sue Hunter, both of Lubbock; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
