Services for Winnie Marie Siedenstrang, 80, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at W. W. Rix Chapel with Ken Jones officiating.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Llano cemetery with Doyle Corder Jr. officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
She died on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at Lubbock Hospitality House.
She was born on Nov. 13, 1919, in Swisher County. She married
Arthur H. Siedenstrang on Nov. 1, 1942, in Amarillo. He died on Dec. 20, 1966.
She graduated from Tulia High School and attended Draughon's Business College in Amarillo.
She was a homemaker from 1943 until her husband's death. She was a ward clerk in the Respiratory Rehabilitation Center of Methodist Hospital from 1967 until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of Sunset Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter, Arla Jean Loter of Lubbock; two sisters, Edna Hoggins Herndon of Amarillo and Irene Miller of Lubbock; three brothers, Fred Corder of Lubbock, Joel Corder of Amarillo, and Gene Corder of Summer Shade, Ky.; and a grandson.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Rix Funeral Directors.
The family suggests memorials to Sunset International Bible Institute, 3723 34th St., Lubbock 79410.
Frances Ortega
DIMMITT A prayer vigil for Frances G. Ortega, 71, of Dimmitt will be at 8 p.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Fern Couture officiating.
Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at Hereford Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 9, 1929, in Tucumcari, N.M., where she grew up and graduated from high school. She attended Amarillo College and received her teaching certificate.
She married
Joe J. Ortega on Nov. 19, 1945, in Tucumcari. She moved to Dimmitt in 1952 and worked as a bilingual teacher's assistant in the Dimmitt school system. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and was a Guadalupana and a Cursillista.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert of Tucumcari; two sisters, Josephine Arrieta of Pojoaque, N.M., and Aurora Lujan of Tucumcari; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the church until service time.

Juan Zuniga
LEVELLAND Rosary for Juan S. Zuniga, 76, of Levelland will be at 7 p.m. today in the George C. Price Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Catholic Church with the Rev. Glenn Rosendale officiating.
Burial will be in Whiteface cemetery.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 7, 1924, in Mexico. He moved to Levelland in 1973 from Whiteface. He married
Juana Mora on June 9, 1947. He was retired from oil field construction work and was a Catholic.
A son, Jesus, died on Sept. 16, 1997. Another son, Margarito, died on Sept. 29, 1972.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Manuel and Jose of Levelland, Pedro of Colorado, and Francisco of Everett, Wash.; four daughters, Guadalupe Soliz of Whiteface, Carmel Timmons and Maria Rodriguez of Levelland, and Ramona Zuniga of Amarillo; four brothers, Blas of Midland, Andres, Nicolas and Edublies, all of Mexico; four sisters, Dominga Lujan, Antonia Espinosa and Bernalda Rojo, all of Mexico, and Cecilia Hernandez of Texas; 28 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Josephine Yarbrough
Services for Josephine Yarbrough, 82, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church with S.E. Fields officiating.
Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens cemetery under the direction of Ossie Curry Funeral Home.
She died on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at Methodist Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born on Aug. 2, 1918, in San Augustine. She married
Willie Yarbrough in 1944 in Winona. He died in 1989.
She attended school in Winona and was a member of Zion Baptist Church. She and her husband moved to Amarillo. She worked at a local military base. She later moved to Albuquerque, N.M., and worked at an area military base. In 1991, she moved to Lubbock and joined St. John's Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, John Matthew Shipp Jr. of League City; a sister, Ruth Jones Wright of Lubbock; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ossie Curry Funeral Home.
Henry Newman
SNYDER Services for Henry D. Newman, 77, of Abilene will be at 2 p.m. today at Bell-Cypert-Seale Chapel in Snyder with F.R. "Bear" Williams officiating.
Burial will be in Ira cemetery under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, in Abilene.
He was born Feb. 11, 1923, in Scurry County. He was a longtime resident of Brownwood, where he was a rancher and a stock farmer. He was also a former resident of the Comanche and Cross Plains area and lived in Big Spring before moving to Abilene.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Harris of Campbell, Mich.; two sisters, Mozelle Lovell and Marciel Morris, both of Big Spring; and four grandchildren.
Charles Norwood
SLATON Services for Charles E. Norwood, 67, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. today in Englunds Chapel with the Rev. Terry Nesmith officiating.
Burial will be in Englewood cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service.
He died on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, in Carillon Health Center.
He was born on April 29, 1933, in Lynn County. He lived in Slaton and graduated from Slaton High School in 1952. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1962 with a degree in public administration.
He had been a city manager for the cities of Georgetown, Abernathy, Portland, Mexia, Harlingen and Port Neches in Texas and also Ruidoso, N.M.
He retired in 1990 and returned to Slaton in 1991. He moved to Lubbock in 1993. He was a member of the International City Manager's Association, Texas City Manager's Association and previously was a member of the Rotary and Lions clubs. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea.
Survivors include two sons, Steve of North Richland Hills and Randy of Austin; a brother, Melvin of Slaton; four sisters: Ruth Starkes, Bonnie Wren and Myrtle Eckles, all of Lubbock, and Fay Wren of Beeville; and three grandchildren.
