HARRY MARSHALL HEATH, SR.
Memorial services for Harry Marshall Heath, Sr., 57, of Wharton were held Aug. 30, 2000 at College Heights Baptist Church in Wharton with the Rev. Don Hurley officiating. Mr. Heath died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000 in a Houston hospital after an extended illness. He was born May 5, 1943 in Wharton to the late Fred Francis and Mary A. Zahn Heath. A lifelong resident of Wharton and a Baptist by faith, he was a salesman for Allison Distributing for 18 years before his retirement. Survivors include a daughter, Candy Marcell Blackwell of Bay City; four sons, Marshall C. Murphy of Palacios, Charles Robert Heath of Houston, Fred Heath, Sr. of El Campo; and Harry Marshall Heath, Jr. of Victoria; three sisters, Billie Jean Eckert of Brenham and Mary F. Hudspeth and Patricia A. Shahani, both of Wharton; a brother, Fred William Heath of Lockhart; and eight grandchildren. NELLIE SLONE
Funeral services for Nellie Slone, 94, of Palacios were held Aug. 23, 2000 at the Palacios Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charlie Parker officiating. Interment was at Palacios cemetery. Mrs. Slone was born April 15, 1906 in Louise, TX to the late Albert Sidney and Nellie Hughes Johnson. She died Aug. 21, 2000 at her residence. Mrs. Slone was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Palacios, a resident of Palacios since 1924 and a 50 year member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post # 2467. She is survived by a daughter, Gay Harrison of Palacios; brother-in-law, R. J. Boland of Louise, TX; six grandchildrenÑJanet Harrison, Sandra Miller and her husband Bill, Holly Claybourn and her husband Clayton, and Shelley Mayfield and her husband Kent, all of Palacios, Slone Harrison of Chattanooga, TN, and John Harrison and wife Lisa of Houston; and 12 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were her great grandsons Jason Miller, Jeff Miller, Michael Harrison, Daniel Harrison, Garrett Claybourn and Jimmy Smith.
NETTIE H. LIGUORI
Funeral services for Nettie Huddleston Liguori, 81, of Brooklyn, N.Y., were held Aug. 22, 2000 at La Bella Funeral Chapel in Brooklyn, N.Y. Interment was at Calverton National cemetery. Mrs. Liguori was born August 21, 1918, in Olivia, to the late John and Myrtle Hadley Huddleston. She died Aug. 20, 2000. She was a retired executive of Value Line in New York and a Baptist. She is survived by sons, Gary Liguori of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Ronald Liguori of Victoria; sisters, Ola Mae Peterson and Estelle Johnson, both of Olivia, Lucille Pargman of Austin and Geneva Mercer of Waco; brothers, Teddy Huddleston of Neddlewall and Calvin Huddleston of Palacios; and four grandchildrenÑMichele Liguori and Philip Liguori, both of New Jersey and Christopher Liguori and Nicole Liguori, both of New York. She was preceded in death by husband, Patrick Liguori; parents; brothers, John Huddleston and Odell Huddleston.
TONY BUCKLEY
A Funeral Mass for Tony Gonzales Buckley, 78, of Palacios, was held Aug. 9, 2000 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Charles Dwomoh officiating. Burial was in the Palacios cemetery. On Jan. 14, 1922 in San Antonio, Texas the Lord blessed our family with the birth of Tony Gonzales Buckley. Mr. Buckley was born on Jan. 14, 1922 in San Antonio to the late Fred and Sefernia Gonzales Buckley. He died Aug. 4, 2000. He is survived by his loving companion and wife, Pauline Ruiz Buckley. Together they nurtured nine children, 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by: sons and daughters-in-lawÑJoe and Pete of Palacios; Fred and his wife, Dana, and their four children also of Palacios; and Tony Patrick and his wife, Robin, of Nevada and five beautiful children; his daughters and sons-in-lawÑDelia and Jimmy Rodriquez and their two children of Houston; Romona and Robert Sisco and her three children and two grandchildren of Kentucky; Linda and Robert Killion of California; Betty and Robert Salter and her three children of Indiana; and Rosemary and Jack L. Pierce II with their three children of Washington state; his sister and brother-in-law Amie and Lester Wright of Palacios; his brother Alex of Palacios; and several nieces and nephews. Tony was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, a life member of good standing with Queen-Hamlin V.F.W. Post 2467, and a member of The Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 1919. Employed by Alcoa Aluminum for 31 years, he retired on Jan. 1, 1983. He worked in a variety of positions, some of which included civil maintenance and re-firing plants calcination department. For the majority of his career with Alcoa he worked in the smelter utility and pots rooms He was also a veteran of World War II having serving in the Army from 1942-46.He served as a rifleman and squad leader for twelve months in the 7th Armored Division in France, Belgium and Holland. As a member of the 1550 Service Support Unit, he was wounded in action in Holland on Oct. 4, 1944. For his service to his country Tony was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for being wounded in action, the Good Conduct Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Medal with one bronze service star, the American Theater Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. Pallbearers included: Fred, Tony, Pete, Joe and Cory Buckley, Fred Buckley, Jr., Christopher Pierce and Jack L.Pierce II.
VIVIAN COX ALLEN
Funeral services for Vivian Cox Allen, 90, of San Antonio, were held Aug. 3, 2000 at the Palacios Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charlie Parker officiating. Interment was at Palacios cemetery. She died July 31 at the Methodist Specialty & Transplant Hospital in San Antonio. A resident of San Antonio for 4 1/2 years, she had previously resided in Pasadena for 56 years and was a member of Westfall Baptist Church in Pasadena. She was born Sept. 5, 1909 in Richmond, Tex., to the late Robert Collier Cox and Elizabeth Schley Cox. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Roy Lee Hogg of San Antonio and Linda and Ron Matlock of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Jane Allen of Palacios; four grandchildren, Melody Allen of Dripping Springs, Raymond Allen of Hyannis, Mass., and Bruce Allen and Robert Hogg of San Antonio; and three great-grandchildren, Rickie Lee Keim of Dripping Springs, and Jennifer and Brianna Hogg of San Antonio.
FLOYD EUGENE (GENE) HENDERSON
Floyd Eugene (Gene) Henderson was born in Austin on May 4, 1944 to Floyd and Myrlene (Sue) Henderson. He joined the U.S. Marines in 1962. He reached the rank of Sergeant E-5, serving as an MP and an aircraft launch/recovery technician in Okinawa and Vietnam. Upon discharge, Mr. Henderson returned to Austin and worked as an expediter before becoming a member of the Austin Fire Department. He retired in May, 1944, with 24 years of service, and relocated to Palacios to enjoy his passion for fishing. He suffered a massive stroke in 1995 and passed on at home on July 30, 2000. He leaves behind his wife Vickie; daughters Meredith Mae Henderson and son Jacob; Wendy Eddleman and Lucynda Reaves; son Chris Eddleman; step-fathers O.A. (Jake) McGuffin and Trinidad Estrada; brothers Tommy Rutledge, Wayne Henderson, Marvin Henderson and Mike McGuffin; sisters Alice Estrada and Josephine Barrett; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mr. Henderson is a reborn Christian and joined in heaven his father and step-mother, Floyd and Dorothea Henderson; his mother Myrlene (Sue) Henderson, and his nephew Cricket Henderson. His memorial service was held at Sky-View Baptist Church in Austin on Friday, August 4, 2000.
HENRY ELI ROBERTSON
Funeral services are pending for Henry Eli Robertson, Jr., 76, of Palacios who died Nov. 27, 2003 in Bay City.
Mr. Robertson was born Jan. 10, 1927 in Robstown, Tx. to the late Henry Eli Robertson, Sr. and Frances Elizabeth Nance Robertson.
He was a retired oil field gauger, a resident of Lewis Carancahua Bay Edition since 1986 and a former resident of Blessing. He was a member of VFW Post 7841 in Robstown and a U. S. Army veteran of Korea.
He is survived by a sister, Dorothy Jean Matlock of Taft, Tx.; a brother, Robert Guy Robertson, Sr. of Louisiana; nieces Jean Longone, Sharon Ann Dearing, Frances Bradley, Connie Hall and Debbie Robertson; nephew Robert Guy Robertson, Jr.; and numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; and special friends Larry and Henrietta Wagenback and Betty Curnutt.

JOSEPHINE LUCILLE COLVIN HOCH
Funeral services for Josephine Lucille Colvin Hoch were held Nov. 19, 2003 at the Palacios Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Her cousin, I. W. Henson, provided special music.
Interment was next to her sister, Laverne Colvin Lewis, at Ashby cemetery in El Maton.
Mrs. Hoch was born Feb. 3, 1918 in Mabank, Tx. to the late William and Della Hebel Colvin. She died Nov. 15, 2003 at Town and Country Manor in Boerne, Tx.
When she was a young child, her family moved to Palacios where she graduated in 1937 from Palacios High School. She then moved to Washington, D. C. where she completed a paralegal course and worked in a law office. During World War II she worked in the War Dept. She married
Nicholas Hoch in 1942 and lived with him until his death in 1988.
She lived much of her adult life in upstate New York. After retirement she moved to Leon Springs, Tx. She was a member of the Leon Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by a brother, Delbert William Colvin and wife, Doris, of Beaumont; a sister, Leola Virginia Colvin Lang and husband, Kenneth, of Austin; nephews Robert G. Jr., Gary and Pat Lewis, and Michael and Robert Tarwater; nieces Pat Walters Doral Willett, Mary Denison, Martha Agee and Susan Bleil; numerous cousins and other family members and friends; special friend Elizabeth Wilcox; and her faithful dog, Shadow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Hoch; sister Laverne Lewis; brother Virgil James Colvin; and nephew Virgil James Colvin, Jr.

TERESA CLARE TRESSELT
A funeral mass for Teresa Clare Tresselt, 95, of Palacios was held Nov. 17, 2003 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with the Rev. Charles Dwomoh officiating. Interment followed at Hawley cemetery in Blessing.
Mrs. Tresselt was born Dec. 19, 1907 in Manhattan, NY., to the late John and Henrietta Clare. She died Nov. 14, 2003.
She had been a resident of Palacios since 1950. During World War II, she volunteered as an ambulance driver for the American Red Cross in New York. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ernest F. and Marilyn Tresselt of Palacios; one brother, Philip Clare of Redoak, Va.; grandchildren: Charlie Tresselt and wife Darlene, Steve Tresselt, Tommy Tresselt, Cindy Jette and husband Jack, Ricky Tresselt and wife Lisa, Cathy Rector and husband Robert, and Jennifer Cruse and spouse Steve Walleck; step-grandchildren: Craig Mills and wife Nomie, Rae Lynn Longoria and husband Raymond, and Pat Mills and wife Laura; step granddaughter-in-law Dottie Mills; eight great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three step great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Charles Tresselt; a daughter, Teresa Marie Tresselt; nine brothers, one sister and by step grandson, Ronnie Mills.
Pallbearers were Erin Tresselt, Katherine Tresselt, Casey Rector, Amber Rector, Dustin Tresselt and Cory Heims.
