ELLIS JENSEN, JR.
Funeral services for Ellis Jensen, Jr., 73, of Trinity, Tx., were held June 16, 2005 in the Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church in Trinity with Dr. J. W. L. Adams officiating.
Mr. Jensen was born Sept. 21, 1928 in Palacios to Adolph Elias and Ethel Harbison Jensen. He died June 11, 2005 at Conroe Regional Hospital.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Shell Oil after 36 years of service in oil exploration and production. He was a member of Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mollie Jensen; daughter and son-in-law Pat and Dan Lindsey of Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Lisa Jensen of North Carolina; grandchildren Kyle, Scott, Amy, Anna and Mollie; sisters Evelyn Loggins, Leona Alzner and Gloria Gilroy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bernard Jensen and sister Lida Tanton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dorcas Willis Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund.
MARTINA DEBSTARLYNN FLORES
Funeral services for Martina Debstarlynn Flores, 13, of Edna, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005 at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Edna. Rosary will be recited prior to the service. Interment will be at Rosa Lopez cemetery in Edna.
Martina was born May 21, 1992 in Port Lavaca to Maria Louisa Hernandez of Edna and Larry Flores of Houston. She died June 4, 2005.
She was a student at Edna Junior High School and a Catholic.
Survivors in addition to her parents are sisters, Markayla Flores of Edna and Faith Morales of Houston; and brothers, Larry Lee Flores and Vince Flores of Houston.
Pallbearers will be Tony Salinas, Andrew Flores, Sisto Flores, Brian Langley, Derrick Remmers and Johnny Flores.

LATARICIA KAYE RINGO VININGRE
Funeral services for Lataricia Kaye Ringo Viningre, 54, of Palacios, were held June 4, 2005 at Living Word Church in Palacios with Rev. Tony Flores officiating. Interment was at Hawley cemetery near Blessing.
Mrs. Viningre was born Nov. 28, 1950, in Palacios, to the late William Earl and Stella Mae Branigan Ringo. She died June 1, 2005.
She was a homemaker and a member of The Living Word Church.
She is survived by her husband, Harold L. Viningre; sons, Charles Robert Heath of Huntington, Tenn., Freddie Earl Heath Sr. of Palacios, and Harry Marshall Heath Jr. of Wharton; sister, Vonda Starlene Motes of Port Lavaca; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters Elsie Lee Plachy and Mary Bell; and brother Calvin Meril Ringo.
THOMAS HAROLD BURT
Funeral services for Thomas Harold Burt, 70 of Palacios, were held June 1, 2005 at Palacios Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard DuVroc, Jr. officiating. Interment was at Palacios cemetery.
Mr. Burt was born March 7, 1935 in Bishop, TX to Carl Adison Burt and Frances Lillie Starks Burt. He died May 29, 2005 in Houston.
He was a resident of Palacios for the past 20 years, a US Navy veteran, and a member of VFW Post 4403 in Port Lavaca, TX.
He is survived by his wife Loretta Leopold Burt of Palacios; daughter Lisa Burt of Victoria; sons Lee Burt and wife Lorie of Piedmont, AL, and Mark K. Burt and wife Pam of Olivia, Tx.; sisters Bonnie Theus of Silsbee, Tx., Margaret Haverlah of Industry, Tx., Susie North of Kerrville, Tx. and Katherine Stevens of North Carolina; brothers Carl “Bud” Burt and Griffen “Jack” Burt both of Bay City, Tx., and Jim Burt of Illinois; and grandchildren Miranda, Daria, Drake and Dyani Burt, Daniel Ferrow, Matthew Callahan, Martiniea Rosalez, Hope Howard, Christian McGowan and Brittney Harnett.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl A. Burt and by a son, Kevin Harnett.
Pallbearers weree Russell Leopold, Santos Perez, Christian McGowan, Jim Rudellat, Kevin Gibbs, Donald Sutton, Ken Haverlah, Tony Comacho, Marty Pritchett, and Danny Christoffersen.
Arrangements were with Palacios Funeral Home.
YVONNE ANN RAMIREZ
Funeral services for Yvonne Ann Ramirez, 31, of Bay City, were held June 1, 2005 at St. Anthony dePadua Catholic Church in Palacios with the Rev. Charles Dwomoh officiating. Interment was at Palacios cemetery.
Miss Ramirez was born July 9, 1973 in Victoria to Robert Hill Ramirez and Patricia Ann Duran Ramirez. She died May 27, 2005.
She was employed as a custodian with Brock Industries.
Survivors in addition to her parents include stepmother, Alette Orchut Ramirez of Victoria; grandmother Isabel Ramos of Palacios; five brothers, Robert Hill Ramirez, Jr. of Mission, Jake Ramirez, Patrick Ramirez, Jesus Duran, all of Bay City and Garrett Hill Orchut-Ramirez of Victoria; and two aunts, Theresa Duran and Elizabeth Duran, both of Palacios.
JOAN DEARING
Funeral services for Joan Dearing, 71, of Victoria and formerly of Palacios, were held May 31, 2005 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Victoria. Interment was at Hawley cemetery near Blessing.
Mrs. Dearing was born Dec. 28, 1933, in Gilmer, Tx. to the late Fred and Elsie Collier Floyd. She died May 28, 2005.
She was a retired accountant for Emjay Chemical and a member of Church of God International.
She is survived by her sister, Florence Howard of Victoria. She was preceded in death by husband, David A. Dearing; and brother, Howard D. Floyd.
AUGUST ‘JAKE’ MACHACEK
Funeral services for August “Jake” Machacek, 73, of Olivia, were held May 27, 2005 at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Interment was in Olivia cemetery.
Mr. Machacek was born May 25, 1931, in Shiner, to the late Joseph and Rose Svatek Machacek. He died May 24, 2005.
He was a ranch foreman for Weedhaven Ranch.
He is survived by his wife, Molly Mendez Machacek; daughter, Darlene Tresselt of Houston; son, Chuck Machacek of Olivia; brothers, John Machacek of Shiner and Laddie Machacek of Pearland; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Joe Machacek and Julius Machacek.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Texas or Olivia Community Center.
JERRY L. GREEN
A memorial service for Jerry L. Green, 64, of Palacios and formerly of Fairbanks, Ala., will be held at a later date.
Mr. Green was born Sept. 27, 1940 in Carter, Okla. to the late Brice Green and JoelDean Cummbings. He died May 24, 2005.
He was a barber.
He is survived by sisters Mary Louise Ledwig of Wadsworth and Barbara Carnley of Bay City; brothers Bill Green and Tommy Green, both of Wadsworth, Henry Green of Port Alto and Olivia, and Anthony F. Green of Churchill.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements were with Colonial Funeral Home, Victoria.
