Greta Sue Dunson Beasley, 56, of Bowie, TX passed away on January 31, 2002 in Dallas, Texas.
Ms. Beasley was born on April 12, 1945 in Bowie, TX. She was a registered nurse and was of the Baptist faith. She cherished her family.
Funeral services for Ms. Beasley were held on Sunday, February 3, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Don Haney officiating. Interment was held in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: five children, Larry Beasley, Jr., Royce Beasley, and Mandy Herron, all of Bowie, TX, DeDe Beasley, Wichita Falls, TX, and Audie Beasley, Bridgeport, TX; her brother, Royce Dunson, Sunset, TX; her sixteen grandchildren; and the children’s father, Larry Beasley, Sr. of Bowie, TX.
Pallbearer’s included: Thomas Romine, Lonnie Romine, Doyal Romine, Billy Beasley, Ben Lovett and James Weathers.
Jimmy Lee Donaldson
Jimmy Lee Donaldson, 55, of Bowie, TX passed away on January 29, 2002.
Mr. Donaldson was born on August 25, 1946 in Lindsay, CA. He married Linda Christian on May 9, 1970 in Modesto, CA. He was a retired truck driver and of the Baptist faith.
Memorial services for Mr. Donaldson were held on Saturday, February 2, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church in Bowie, TX with Dr. Larry Cox officiating.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Linda Donaldson, of the home; one daughter, Susie Ann Dotson, Winton, CA; five sons, Jimmy and Jeremy Donaldson, both of Bowie, TX, Kevin and Clayton Richison, both of Bowie, TX and Christopher Richison, Shasta City, CA; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Etta Mae LeRoy, Ceres, CA; three brothers, Willie Donaldson, Ripon, CA, Bobby Donaldson, Ft. Cobb, OK and Donnie Donaldson, Ceres, CA; his mother-in-law, Ruby Christian, Bowie, TX and one brother-in-law, Timothy Christian, Bowie, TX.
Marjorie Elizabeth Zachary
Marjorie Elizabeth Zachary, 75, of Nocona, TX passed away on February 1, 2002 in Nocona General Hospital.
Mrs. Zachary was born on June 13, 1926 in Nocona, TX to Orville Hugo and Margaritte Bailey McNeil. She was a retired Theatre Manager in Nocona, TX and a member of the Church of Christ.
Graveside services for Mrs. Zachary were held on Sunday, February 3, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with Dale Scott officiating. Interment was held in Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one son, John Zachary, Nocona, TX; one daughter, Sara Ann Perry, Rogers, TX; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Joe Wilson Vanderburg
Joe Wilson Vanderburg, 87, of Nocona, TX passed away on January 31, 2002 at his residence.
Mr. Vanderburg was born on November 8, 1914 to Joseph Daniel and Minnie Howard Vanderburg in Terral, OK. Mr. Vanderburg served in the U S Navy during World War II and was a member of the Lions Club and the VFW. He married Dorothy Timerlake on December 1, 1939 in Waurika, OK. He was a retired foreman for Anaconda Co.
Graveside services for Mr. Vanderburg were held on Monday, February 4, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Don Hogan officiating. Interment was held in Terral Cemetery in Terral, OK under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Billie Jo Huggins, Nocona, TX; one son, Harold Gene Vanderburg, Tucson, AZ; one sister, Billie Bess Schulle, Austin, TX; one brother, James Ralph Vanderburg; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Vanderburg on January 7, 2001.
Pallbearers include: Johnny Richardson, Randy Shears, James Fitch, John Fitch, Harold Lee and Elton Burleson. Honorary pallbearers include: Rhett Shears, Onis Davis, Michael Pounds, Tommy Carroll, Cody Beckham, all grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
William Carlton Darnell
William Carlton Darnell, 78, formerly of Montague, TX, late of Central Point, OR, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Darnell was born on June 28, 1923 in Ivanhoe, TX to Alfred and Rose Darnell. He married Wanda Bell in Las Vegas, NV on February 22, 1946. They moved from Montague, TX to Rogue Valley, OR in 1998. Mr. Darnell worked in road construction for Harold Burch Trucking and was a superintendent for J. C. Comptom out of McMinnville during the 1960s and 70s. He retired from Weber Aircraft in Gainesville, TX in 1985. He served in the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was an avid fisherman.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Wanda; one son, Billy Darnell, Medford, OR; one daughter, Deborah Kurtz, Dundee, OR and three grandchildren.
Bettye Anne York
Bettye Ann York, 66, of Wichita Falls, TX passed away on January 28, 2002 at URHCS 8th Street Campus in Wichita Falls, TX.
Mrs. York was born on May 12, 1935 in Honey Grove, TX to Joe and Daphna Wilkins Wise. She married Norman York on November 10, 1954. She was a bookkeeper for AMSCO Steel in Wichita Falls for 28 years. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Mrs. York loved her job and was very interested in sewing, quilting and crafts. Her thoughtfulness and compassion will be missed by all who knew her.
Graveside services for Mrs. York were held on Friday, February 1, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Nocona Cemetery. Services were direction by Scott Morris Funeral Home of Nocona, TX.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, Norman York, Wichita Falls, TX; three children, Ronnie York, Dallas, TX, Terry York, Flower Mound, TX and Cindy York, Denton, TX; her mother, Daphan Wilkins Wise, Nocona, TX; one sister, Peggy Mann, Bowie, TX; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Wise, and an infant son, Harry Craig York in 1959.
Coy Douglas Fite
Coy Douglas Fite, 82, of Ringgold, TX passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2002 at Nocona General Hospital.
Mr. Fite was born on October 24, 1919 in Ringgold, TX to Claude Douglas and Susan Anne Doty Fite. He married Bennie McLaughlin Fite on April 16, 1943 in Houston, TX. He was a rancher and a member of First Christian Church of Ringgold, TX. He also served in the Army Air Force during WWII.
Funeral services for Mr. Fite were held on Thursday, February 14, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Christian Church with Rev. Howard Walker officiating. Interment was held in Ringgold Cemetery under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home of Nocona, TX.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Bennie Fite, Nocona, TX; two children, C. D. "Jake" Fite, Burkburnett, TX and Kathy Fite Frank, Ringgold, TX; two sisters, Annie Mae Fisher, Austin, TX and Gladys Lowe, Lubbock, TX; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include: Tom Crabtree, Jerry Walker, Charles Kidwell, Jim Franklin, Lloyd Bouldin, Fred Allen, Sonny Fenoglio, Larry Fenoglio, Jay Womack, and Kenneth Cunningham.
