Dorothy Sue Cochran, 88, of Bowie, TX passed away on June 29, 2002 in Bellmire Nursing Home.
Mrs. Cochran was born on April 19, 1914 in Waco, TX to Paul James and Helen Coogan Stevens. She married William (Bill) Thomas Cochran. She retired from the United States Post Office in 1982, after 20 years of service. She loved gardening, nature, birds and cats.
Graveside services for Mrs. Cochran were held on Monday, July 1, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Scott Moore officiating at Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo, TX. Services were directed by Scott-Morris Funeral Home of Nocona, TX.
Surviving relatives include: one sister, Maydee (Sadie) Boggess, Saint Jo, TX; three nieces, Janette Williams and Mary Smith, both of Houston, TX and Martha Hancock, Bowie, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas; four brothers, Thomas, Noel, Lane, and Bill Howell; one sister, Betty Jean May; and two nephews, Steven and Carl Boggess.
Doretta Hope Hill
Doretta Hope Hill, 72, of Modesto, CA passed away on June 29, 2002.
Mrs. Hill was born on October 12, 1929 in Beggs, OK. She married Homer Hill, Sr. She worked at Nocona Boot Shop and was a nurse at the hospital and nursing home. She also worked as a private nurse.
Graveside services for Mrs. Hill were held on Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. at Liberty Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Nick Anzalone officiating. Services were directed by Scott-Morris Funeral Home of Nocona, TX.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Jaquita Ehrler, Modesto, CA; two sons, Johnny Hill, Nocona, TX and Joe Hill, Rialto, CA; one sister, Wilma Tyson, IA; one brother, Frank Laffon, OK; several grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Hill and a son, Homer Hill, Jr.
Nat E. Blake
Nat E. Blake, 77, of Bowie, TX passed away on June 27, 2002 in Bowie, TX.
Mr. Blake was born September 23, 1924 in Duncan, OK to Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Blake. He was a chiropractor and practiced in Bowie for forty-nine years.
Memorial services for Mr. Blake will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Dorothy Richardson Blake, Bowie, TX; one daughter, Teresa Kattron Nardizzi, Carrollton, TX; one son, Richard Allen Blake, Dallas, TX; two grandsons, Kyle and Daron Nardizzi; one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Nelda Blake, Denton, TX. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Anna Elizabeth.

Lydia Hastings, 104, of Bowie, TX passed away on June 30, 2002.
Mrs. Hastings was born on September 28, 1897 in Oil City, PA. She was a homemaker and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where she was known as "Grandma".
Memorial services for Mrs. Hastings were held on Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Fry Funeral Home directed the services.
Surviving relatives include: three sons, Robert "Bob" Duplanti, Erie, PA, Louis "Louie" Duplanti, Bowie, TX, and Donald "Don" Duplanti, Gainesville, TX; one daughter, Kathryn "Kay" Edwards, Lindsay, CA; one sister, Helen "Honey" Wilson, Titusville, PA; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Duplanti in 1936; her husband, Harold T. Hastings in 1973; one son, Theodore "Ted" Duplanti in 1998; and three brothers.
William Sidney Lee "Billy" Gilmore
William Sidney Lee "Billy" Gilmore, 60, of Waurika, OK passed away on July 1, 2002.
Mr. Gilmore was born on April 13, 1942 to Sidney and Marjorie Roberts Gilmore in Montague, TX. Mr. Gilmore was a livestock auctioneer. He and Carol Phillips were united in marriage on October 14, 1960 in Bowie, TX. He was a member of the Addington First Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mr. Gilmore were held on Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Addington Baptist Church with Mike Bernhardt officiating. Interment was held in Addington Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
Surviving relatives include: his mother, Marjorie Gilmore, Bowie, TX; his wife, Carol Gilmore, Waurika, OK; three sons, Billy Gilmore, Waurika, OK, Lee Gilmore, Addington, OK, and Jason Gilmore, Wichita Falls, TX; one daughter, Denise Radon, Addington, OK; four brothers, Steve, William, Jimmy and Ronnie Gilmore, all of Bowie, TX and one sister, Pat Phillips, Bowie, TX; seven grandchildren.
