Royce Alvin Dunson, 59, of Sunset, TX passed away on July 1, 2002.
Mr. Dunson was born on August 27, 1942 in Vernon, TX. He married Wanda Cage in Montague, TX on May 12, 1970. He was a member of the Truth Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Bowie. Mr. Dunson was a loving father and husband.
Graveside services for Mr. Dunson were held on Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at 4:00 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Taylor officiating.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Wanda M. Dunson, one daughter, Gretta Dunson, Sunset, TX; one son, Greg A. Dunson, Sunset, TX; and two grandchildren, Chelsie and Kayla Waymire, both of Sunset, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lola Dunson; one sister, Greta Beasley; and one brother, Howard Dunson.
Bobby Ray "Bob" Boudreaux
Bobby Ray "Bob" Boudreaux, 68, of Axtell, TX passed away July 3, 2002.
Bobby was born June 18, 1934 in Electra, TX. Bobby owned and operated Waco and Temple Mortuary Service. He recently retired and was living on his dream farm where he was building a new home with his wife Nancy. Mr. Boudreaux was a long time resident of Bowie, where he was employed by Burgess Fry Funeral Home and was also the Bowie Chamber of Commerce Manager. Mr. Boudreaux burial wishes were not to have a funeral service, but to be cremated and his ashes spread on his farm.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Robert Boudreaux; two daughters, Lynetta Slaton & Gayla Wolf; five grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Boudreaux of Levelland, TX; and two sisters, Elaine Hobgood of Waxahachi and LaVerne Shaw of Lubbock, TX.
Alfred Lee Howard
Alfred Lee Howard, 55, of Bonham, TX passed away on July 2, 2002 in Dallas, TX.
Mr. Howard was born on October 1, 1946 in Wichita Falls, TX. He was a retired soldier with the U.S. Army, serving three tours in Vietnam, one in Germany and one in Taiwan. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Ringgold, TX and a life member of the VFW Post 8987 in Bowie, TX.
Funeral services for Mr. Howard were held on Friday, July 5, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. at Fry Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jamie Reed officiating. Interment was held in Ringgold Cemetery.
Surviving relatives include: his father, A.L. Howard, Bowie, TX; three brothers, Corky Howard, Burleson, TX, Rusty Howard, Bowie, TX and Alfred Howard, Joshua, TX; three sisters, Deana Maggard, Antelope, TX, Shawna Nolan, Bowie, TX and Michelle Hamilton, Springdale, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice, in 1996.
Pallbearers included: J.C. Roberts, Bill Large, Max Gardner, Tom Thompson, James Henry, James Smith, Chico Gardner, and Daron Williams.
John Henry Wood
John Henry Wood, 90, of Nocona, TX passed away on July 4, 2002 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman, TX.
Mr. Woods was born on February 17, 1912 in Cook County, TX to George Washington and Margaret Elizabeth Wyatt Wood. He married Ila Vandale Roy Wood. He drove a truck for Bruce and Son Van and Storage for many years. He then was custodian for Central Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mr. Wood were held on Saturday, July 6, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Scott-Morris Chapel with Rev. Bryan Parks officiating. Interment was held in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon, TX at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Dale Bigham officiating.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Ila Wood, Nocona, TX; two sons, Wayne Wood, Bonita, TX and Carroll Wood, Sherman, TX; three sisters, Ruby Thompson and Lovie Taylor, both of Clarendon, TX and Dupree Linsteadt, Denison, TX; two brothers, Artie Wood, Nocona, TX and Vernon Wood, Fort Worth, TX; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Tarpley Wood.
Lola R. Hall
Lola R. Hall, 74, of Bowie, TX passed away on July 4, 2002 at Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Hall was born on November 25, 1927 in San Francisco, CA. She ws a retired packer in a glass factory. She enjoyed playing the accordion, liked astrology, was a good Italian cook; practical joker; never met a stranger; and was a fun loving person.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hall were held on Sunday, July 7, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Pitman officiating. Interment was held in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, Larry Cook, Ida, LA and Steve Cook, Sonora, CA; two daughters, Susan DeMello, San Leandro, CA, and Diana Jackson, Henrietta, TX; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers included: Alan Jackson, Chad Regouby, Charles Nader, Steve Cook, Larry Cook and Tommy Jackson.
William E. "Dub" Huckaby
William E. "Dub" Huckaby, 67, of Nocona, TX passed away on July 6, 2002 in Nocona General Hospital.
Mr. Huckaby was born on October 7, 1934 in Necessity, TX to Richard and Rhoda Kasterson Huckaby. He married Linda Curnutte Groves on June 8, 1991. He was employed by Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mr. Huckaby were held on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Abundant Life Church with Rev. Rod Messer officiating. Interment was held in Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Linda Huckaby, Nocona, TX; five children, Beth West, Wichita Falls, TX, Jason Kellog, Theresa Cook and Cindy Cervantes, all of Nocona, TX, and Jimmy Groves, Graham, TX; three sisters, Minnie Dunson, Early, TX, Mabel and Leona Carter, both of Abilene, TX; one brother, Tommy Huckaby, Ranger, TX and seven grandchildren.
Lola Belle Egenbacher
Lola Belle Egenbacher, 90, of Lubbock, TX passed away on July 6, 2002.
Mrs. Egenbacher was born on February 15, 1912 in Bowie, TX. She married Herman George Christian Egenbacher in Bowie, TX on March 4, 1933. She lived in Bowie for 21 years before moving to Knox City, TX where she lived for 40 years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Knox City, TX.
Graveside services for Mrs. Egenbacher were held on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in Elwood Cemetery with John Brannan officiating.
Surviving relatives include: one son, George Egenbacher, Lubbock, TX; two grandchildren, Tony Egenbacher, Lubbock, TX and Kristie Martin, Tomball, TX; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Egenbacher was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Lena Gallia; three brothers, Russell, Joe and Edd Lee Gallia; and by her husband, Herman George Christian Egenbacher in 1968.
William C. "Snooks" Hutson
William C. "Snooks" Hutson, 76, of Forestburg, TX passed away on July 14, 2002 in Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hutson was born on January 24, 1926 in Saint Jo, TX to Homer and Mattie B. Embry Hutson. He married Mary Ruth Glass on September 29, 1948 in Saint Jo, TX. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
Funeral services for Mr. Hutson were held on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at McCoy Funeral Chapel in Saint Jo with Loyd Morris officiating. Interment was held in Mountain Creek Cemetery in Montague County, TX.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Mary Ruth Hutson, Forestburg, TX; two daughters, Barbara Misuk, South Lake, TX and Debbie Hutson, Garland, TX; one son, Larry Hutson, Lake Dallas, four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Wayne Hutson, Bloomfield, NM and Kenneth Hutson, Forestburg, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.
