Willie Mae Woolard
Willie Mae Woolard, 83, of Nocona, TX passed away on August 10, 2002 at Nocona Nursing Home.
Mrs. Woolard was born on December 17, 1918 in Duxbury, TX to William M. and Ola May McCray Goldsmith. She married Clyde Woolard. She was the former owner and operator of the Service Beauty Shop in Nocona. Mrs. Woolard was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Nocona.
Funeral services for Mrs. Woolard were held on Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. James Terry and Rev. Keith Barbee officiating. Interment was held in Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one child, Samilue Key, Abilene, TX; two sisters, Audra Howard and Clara Cardwell, both of Nocona, TX; and two grandchildren, Shanna and Bradley Key, both of Abilene, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Woolard and one son, David Woolard in 1982.
Pallbearers included: her nephews.
Lillian Zella Morgan . . .
Lillian Zella Morgan, age 88, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away on Friday, August 9, 2002.
Lillian was born on October 9, 1913 in Plentywood, MT to Charles and Zella Strubeck. She married Edwin Morgan on July 21, 1936 in Plentywood, MT. Lillian was a homemaker, known especially for her cooking and sewing talents, and her kindness and generosity. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Oklahoma City, OK.
A Memorial Service for Lillian was held on Sunday, August 11, 2002 at 5:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall in Oklahoma City, OK, presented by Gregg Irvin. She was cremated.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Lynn Morgan of Bowie, TX and Neil Morgan of Chico, CA; two daughters, Joyce Tatum of Oklahoma City, OK and Barbara Morgan of Beverly Hills, CA; one sister, Della Zanich of Billings, MT; one sister-in-law, Edith Morgan of Buenos Aires, Argentina; seven grandchildren, Michelle Burdick and Kathy Snider, both of Bowie, Gary Tatum and Bryan Tatum, both of Oklahoma City, OK, Wendell Morgan of Brooklyn, NY, Leah Hodges of Wallkill, NY, and Jade Moore of Palmdale, CA; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 19, 1993.
Jesse R. "Buddy" Jones..
Jesse R. "Buddy" Jones, 81, of Bowie, TX passed away on August 19, 2002 at his residence.
Mr. Jones was born on July 19, 1921 in Valley View, TX to Jay C. and Hattie Covington Jones. He married Mildred Dennis on September 27, 1945 in Stinnette, TX. He made his career as an Airforce Serviceman, and was a veteran of WWII and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He served in the Pacific Theater, Philippines, occupied Japan and the Berlin Airlift. He attained the rank of Master Sargeant. In 1964 Buddy returned to Texas and worked for the City of Mesquite, retiring in 1989. Buddy was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America for many years and a member of the Order of the Arrow. Being an active member of the Lone Star High School Rodeo Association, Buddy was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002.
Graveside services for Mr. Jones were held on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in Coker Cemetery in Cooke County, TX with Norman Wayne Lowrie officiating. Interment was under the direction of McCoy Funeral Homes of Saint Jo, TX.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Mildred Jones, of Bowie, TX; one daughter, Pamela Maass of Waxahachie; one son, Stanley Jones of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Bobby Perry of Gun Barrell City; one brother, James Jones of Dallas; a close friend, Sharyn K. Jones, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Pete and George Jones; two sisters, Mary Lee Wilson and Gertrude Dennis.
Della Mae Buck
Della Mae Buck, 83, of Nocona, TX passed away on August 15, 2002 in Nocona General Hospital.
Mrs. Buck was born on August 12, 1918 in Hasuel, TX to John Nathan and Cora Groves Bellah. She married Maloy Dow Buck. She retired from Nocona Boot Company as a stitcher and was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Nocona.
Funeral services for Mrs. Buck were held Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. at the Church of the Brethren with Rev. Ronnie Tucker and Rev. Tommy Lamascus officiating. Interment was held in Molsbee Cemetery under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: four children, Lois Thomas, Leander, TX, Robert Buck, Midland, TX, Marvin Buck, Nocona, TX and Billy Buck, Saint Jo, TX; four sisters, Opal Coffman, Nocona, TX, Oleta Wall, Huntsville, AR, Juanita Rogers, Fort Worth, TX and Pauline Heathington, Montague, TX; three brothers, Henry Bellah, Electra, TX, Glen Bellah, Lindsborg, KS and Carroll Bellah, Athens, TX; thirteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers included: Danny Buck, George Elerby, Roy Lee Hudson, Wade Shelton, Dale Linn and Danny Bays. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maloy Buck and one son, Marcus Buck on December 14, 1944.
Juanita Lemons
Juanita Lemons, 86, of Nocona, TX passed away on August 13, 2002 at Nocona General Hospital.
Mrs. Lemons was born on May 24, 1916 in Montague County, TX to Isaac and Mary Oyens Meyers. She married Virgil Glen Lemons on March 27, 1936 in Nocona, TX. She was retired from Justin Leathergoods and was a member of the Abundant Life Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lemons were held on Friday, August 16, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Abundant Life Church with Reverends Rod Messer and Nicky Anzalone officiating. Interment was held at Eagle Point Cemetery in Montague County, TX under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, Glen and Jim Lemons, both of Nocona, TX; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Donnie Richard Lemons, on February 17, 1941 and her husband, Virgil Glen Lemons, on February 8, 1990.
Pallbearers included: Jerry Don Uselton, Elvin Ray Lemons, Raymond Hudson, Rusty Messer, Kenny Hudson, and James Carpenter.
Lisa Jean DeArman
Lisa Jean DeArman died on August 18, 2002 in Bowie, Texas at the age of 47. She had been a resident of Bowie for the past 23 years.
She was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 4, 1954 to Errolene and Robert McClintick. Lisa grew up in Wichita, Kansas where she received her education and on July 28, 1978 she graduated from Wichita State University with a degree in Medical Technology. Lisa moved to Bowie, Texas soon after college and was employed as a laboratory technologist at Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Lisa was married to Tod DeArman in Wichita, Kansas on June 21, 1980. They had two children, Lindsay and David. At this time she became a full time homemaker and mom.
She was a longtime member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, a member of the Amity Club of Bowie, and a member of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church of Bowie. She was employed as a Laboratory Technician at the Bowie Clinic.
The role she cherished most however, was as a loving and supportive mom to her two children.
She is survived by a daughter, Lindsay Diane DeArman; a son, David Tod DeArman, both of Bowie; her parents Errolene and Robert E. McClintick of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Carol Mulvey of Coppell, Texas and Kathy Peters of Wichita, Kansas; her former husband, Tod R. DeArman of Bowie; a sister-in-law, Rhonda DeArman Kendall; her mother-in-law, Robbie Bennett of Bowie; a niece, Ashley Thompson and nephew, Robert Bennett Kendall.
A memorial service will be held at Fry Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Phil Swickerd, Vicar of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church officiating.

Kent Henry
Kent Henry, 67, of Bowie, TX passed away on August 17, 2002 in a Wichita Falls Hospital.
Mr. Henry was born on September 1, 1934 in Bowie, TX. He married Patsy Ruth Tomlinson on October 23, 1952 in Bowie and was a rancher all of his life. Mr. Henry served on the board of directors and was Senior Vice President at the First National Bank of Bowie for over 40 years when he retired in 1997. Kent was a past president of Bowie Chamber of Commerce and Bowie Lions Club. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Bowie and a member of Jean’s Downtown Men’s Bible Class of Nocona.
Funeral Services for Mr. Henry were on Tuesday, August 20th, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Bowie, with Buddy Lee of Jean’s Downtown Men’s Bible Class and Rev. Dick Hennings, Minister of Music at First Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery in Stoneburg, TX under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Henry of Bowie, TX; two sons Tom Henry, Bowie, TX and Bob Henry, Wichita Falls, TX; four grandchildren - Jamie, Riley, Karen and Sarah Henry; one sister, Mrs. Margie Mills of Bowie, TX and one brother, James Henry of Nocona, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Senter L. Henry on August 26, 1990.
Pallbearers included: Greg Houston, Kent Hanson, Charles Tyson, David Rhyne, Dean Yarbro and Bret Addison. Honorary pallbearers included: Jerry Addison, Ben Hill, Frank Massey, Bill North, Sonny Fenoglio, Joe Corpening, Marvin Tyson, Richard Bishop, Sassy Crenshaw, Bill Hamer, Linton Campbell.
