Lottie Deel
Lottie Deel, 100, of Bowie, TX passed away on November 15, 2002 at Bowie Nursing Center.
Mrs. Deel was born on May 21, 1902 in Dardnelle, Arkansas. She married Warren Raymond Deel on December 15, 1926 in Holdenville, OK. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bowie.
Funeral services for Mrs. Deel was held on Monday, November 18, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Dan Rattliff and Bob Deel officiating. Interment was held in Elmwood Cemetery.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Kenneth Deel, Borger, TX; one daughter, Phyllis Dodson, Bedias, TX; one sister, Mrs. Cecil Martin, Dardnelle, AR; one half sister, Mrs. Fredia Sanders, Ada, OK; three half-brothers, Bill Davenport, Marlow, OK, Don Davenport, Earlsboro, OK and Jim Davenport, Norman, OK; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included: J.D. Clampet, William Clay, Brock Lyons, Dale Clay, George Clay and David Dodson.

Helen Elizabeth Lefforge
Helen Elizabeth Lefforge, 79, passed away on November 16, 2002 in Round Rock, TX.
Mrs. Lefforge was born on March 5, 1923 in Gainesville, TX to Thomas Louis and Pauline Hare. She married Paul Kistler Lefforge in 1942 in Bowie, TX. She was the church secretary for Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi, TX.
Graveside services for Mrs. Lefforge were held on Monday, November 18, 2002 at 2 p.m. in Coker Cemetery in Bulcher, TX with Rev. Scott Hamilton officiating. Services were directed by Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, Paul Kistler Lefforge, Georgetown, TX, one son, Paul M. Lefforge, Georgetown, TX; one sister, Velma Rufner, Georgetown, TX and one brother, Tommy Hare, Saint Jo, TX.

Peggy Jan Abbott Lippincott
Peggy Jan Abbott Lippincott, 49, of Sunset, TX passed away on November 16, 2002 at her residence.
Ms. Lippincott was born on October 31, 1951 in Weatherford, TX to Rex and Billye Macker Lippincott. She was an attendant for La Quinta Inns.
Memorial services for Ms. Lippincott were held on Monday, November 18, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at East Side Baptist Church with Bro. James Reed officiating.
Surviving relatives include: one sister, Karen Gayle Jordan, Bellevue, TX; and two brothers, Stan Lippincott, Sunset, TX and Michael Lippincott, Montague, TX.

John W. Bumpus
John W. Bumpus, 89, of Nocona, TX passed away on November 12, 2002 at Nocona General Hospital.
Mr. Bumpus was born on June 7, 1913 to Jesse J. and Alice Beck Bumpus in Hereford, Arkansas. He graduated from Prairie Point School in 1931. As a young man he served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines. Later during WW II he served in North Africa and Italy. He was wounded at Anzio Beach in Italy. After returning to civilian life he worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a conductor. Upon retirement he and Wilma returned to Nocona to make their home.
Funeral services for Mr. Bumpus were held on Friday, November 15, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Jean’s Men’s Bible Class with Buddy Lee officiating. Interment was held in Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Wilma Bonds Bumpus; two sisters, Verna Barton, Tahlequah, OK and Georgia Thompson, Tulsa, OK; and one brother, Bill Bumpus, El Monte, CA.

Clifton Bewley
Clifton Bewley, 81, of Gainesville, TX passed away on November 13, 2002 in Gainesville Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Bewley was born on March 12, 1921 in Cooke County, TX to Noah and Eula Edwards Bewley. Mr. Bewley attended school in Prairie Point, farmed until he went into the service where he servd his country in the European Theater and was in combat there in WWII. He married Loveta Cathleen Cox on September 11, 1943 in Columbia, SC. He worked for Convair in Fort Worth in the early 1950’s. He also had worked in many different jobs before his custodial job at North Texas College, retiring in 1984.
Graveside services for Mr. Bewley were held on Saturday, November 16, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Perryman Cemetery in Forestburg, TX with C.E. Cole officiating. Services were directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Elaine Eckles, Watauga, TX; one son, Loyd Bewley, Valley View, TX; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Bewley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Loveta Bewley on April 12, 2001; two sisters, Annie Marie Ford and Odell Bewley; and three brothers, Glenn and Noel Bewley and an infant brother.

Robert Anthony Rodriguez
Robert Anthony Rodriguez, 22, of Nocona, TX passed away on November 14, 2002 at URHCS in Wichita Falls.
Mr. Rodriguez was born on October 9, 1980 in Wichita Falls to Roberto and Kathy Golson Rodriguez. He was a concrete worker for TD Concrete.
Graveside services for Mr. Rodriguez were held on Monday, November 18, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Nocona Cemetery with Rev. Scott Hamilton officiating. Services were directed by Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Survivors include: his parents, Roberto Rodriguez, Wichita Falls, TX and Kathy Rodriguez, Nocona, TX; one sister, Carmen Ann Rodriguez, Nocona, TX; two brothers, Steven Rodriguez, Wichita Falls, TX and Damon Golson, Nocona, TX; his grandmother, Onna "Kay" King, Nocona, TX and his grandfather, Anastacio Rodriguez, Mexico; one niece, Jordan Rodriguez, Nocona, TX; one nephew, Anthony Rodriguez, Nocona, TX; two aunts, Cyndi Herring, Nocona, TX and Tammy Moore, PA; and one uncle, Anthony Horn, Jr., Nocona, TX.

Onyal McCoy Ayres
Onyal McCoy Ayres, 86, of Wichita Falls, TX passed away on November 15, 2002 in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Mr. Ayres was born on September 19, 1916 in Montague County, TX to Claude Ector and Zada Houpt Ayres. He worked for Consolidated Air Craft in Fort Worth, TX during WWII; Wichita Falls State Hospital for two years and Wichita General Hospital for thirty two years, retiring in 1979. He was of the Methodist faith.
Funeral services for Mr. Ayres were held on Sunday, November 17, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. at Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Barbee officiating. Interment was held in Starkey Cemetery in Montague County, TX.
Surviving relatives include: several cousins.
Pallbearers included: Henry Brewer, Curtis Moore, Homer Wetsel, Dillard Ayres, Joe Ayres, Chick Ayres, and Cash Houpt.

Doris Lavelle Locke
Doris Lavelle Locke, 72, of Nocona, TX passed away on November 15, 2002.
Mrs. Locke was born on October 13, 1930 in Twitty, TX to Thomas Grady and Maggie Teresa Richardson. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services for Mrs. Locke were held on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ of Nocona with Dale Scott officiating. Interment was held in Oak Hill Cemetery in White Wright, TX under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: three daughters, Vickie Kelley, Manderville, LA, Debbie Hawk, Paris, TX and Teresa and Bill Brown, Nevada, TX; four sons, Donald Locke, San Antonio, TX, Johnny Locke, Nocona, TX, Mark Locke, Lewisville, TX and David Locke, Aubrey, TX; one sister, Joy Cooper, McLean, TX; four brothers, Harold Richardson, Oklahoma City, OK, James Richardson, Tuscumbia, AL, Virgil Richardson, Fort Worth, TX and Roy Richardson, McLean, TX; seventeen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Locke was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jay Arthur Richardson. Pallbearers included: her grandchildren.

William "Bill" Frank
William "Bill" Frank, 76, of Bowie, TX passed away on December 1, 2002 in Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Frank was born on February 18, 1926 in Healdton, OK. He owned and operated the Highway Garage in Montague. He drove a school bus for several years. He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime resident of Montague, TX.
Funeral services for Mr. Frank were held on Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dick Hennings officiating. Interment was held in Montague Cemetery in Montague, TX.
Surviving relatives include: one nephew, Mark Beatty, Fort Worth, TX; and five cousins, Kay Farrell, Michael Schofield, Johnny Farrell, Jeanna Farrell, all of Healdton, OK and Gretta Jean, Ponca City, OK. Mr. Frank was preceded by a life long friend, Velva Jo Leatherwood in 1996.
Pallbearers included: Michael Schofield, Earl Richardson, Clayton Beatty, Elton Teague, Lynn Nobile, and Kenneth Shackelford.
