Jimmie D. "J.D." Clampet
Jimmie D. "J.D." Clampet, 70, of Bowie, TX passed away on November 28, 2002 in URHC in Wichita Falls, TX.
Mr. Clampet was born on March 17, 1932 in Haworth, OK. He married Mary Ann Armstrong on May 27, 1953 in Gainesville, TX. He was a rancher and a member of East Side Baptist Church in Bowie.
Funeral services for Mr. Clampet were held on Sunday, December 1, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at East Side Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Reed officiating. Interment was held in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home of Bowie.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Mary Ann Clampet, Bowie, TX; one son, Jim J. Clampet, Post Falls, Idaho; one daughter, Mrs. Cathy A. Davison, Keller, TX; six grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Versal Maddox, Sterling, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included: Truman Reading, Wesley Bowman, Joe Lahman, Chad Gerlach, Roger Swaim and James Broussard.
Troy "Gene" Miller
Troy "Gene" Miller, 64, of Bowie, TX passed away on December 6, 2002.
Mr. Miller was born on May 17, 1938 in Bellevue, TX. He was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith.
Graveside services for Mr. Miller were held on Monday, December 9, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Bellevue Cemetery with Doyle Wade officiating.
Surviving relatives include: three daughters, Cathy and Linda Miller, both of Bowie, TX and Tammie Benham, Henrietta, TX; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Miller in 1990.
Don McKinney
Don McKinney, 76, of Bowie, TX passed away on December 5, 2002 in Dallas, TX.
Mr. McKinney was born on Septer 7, 1926 in Alliance, Nebraska. He was a pumper in the oil industry. Mr. McKinney was a life member of the Reddy-McClellan VFW Post #8789 in Bowie, TX and served in the U.S. Army 54th Military Police Company. He married Darla Bircher on June 4, 1955 in Hot Springs, South Dakota.
Graveside services for Mr. McKinney were held on Monday, December 9, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX with District 15 Chaplain C.W. "Sandy" Sanderson officiating.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Mrs. Darla McKinney, Bowie, TX; one daughter, Michelle Litts, Bowie, TX; one son, Jimmy McKinney, Bowie, TX; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margie Cassidy, Pineville, OR; Betty Walker and Elois Adamson, both of Alliance, NE; one brother, Billy McKinney, Hammond, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Blanche McKinney; one brother, Kenneth McKinney; and one son, Donald Wayne McKinney.
Donovan Gatewood, Sr
Donovan Gatewood, Sr., 78, Sunset, TX passed away on December 7, 2002 in Fort Worth, TX.
Mr. Gatewood was born on May 8, 1924 in Kansas City, KS. He married Alice McRee in Houston on June 26, 1950. He was an electrical/avionics tech for Aerospatile Helicopter. Mr. Gatewood was a veteran of WWII Army Air Corp. and a member of the VFW Post #8789 in Bowie.
Funeral services for Mr. Gatewood were held on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Coker Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Colett officiating. Interment was held in Sunset Cemetery.
Surviving relatives include: three sons, Donovan Gatewood, Jr. Sunset, TX, Jon and Gregory Gatewood, both of Fort Worth; one daughter, Nola Summerhill, Fort Worth, TX; one sister, Mary Jo Kreke, West Fork, AR; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers included: Terry Summerhill, Shawn Summerhill, Aaron Summerhill, Tracy Gatewood, Travis Reese and Jason Gatewood.
Goldie Aldine Rearic
Goldie Aldine Rearic, 83, of Nocona, TX passed away on December 8, 2002 in Nocona General Hospital.
Mrs. Rearic was born on April 9, 1918 in Vandergrift, PA to Alvin and Charlotte Wilson Blose. She married Robert Rearic and was a member of the Kiski Township Fire Department Auxiliary in PA and the American Legion. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Apollo, PA and a homemaker.
There will be no funeral services.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Roberta Skaugen, Denton, TX; four grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Judy Darlene (Seibold) Bowman
Judy Darlene (Seibold) Bowman, 57, of Garland, TX passed away on December 6, 2002 in Baylor Hospital in Garland.
Mrs. Bowman was born on February 7, 1945 in Tucson, AZ to Cecil and Allie Mae McMahan Seibold. She married Billy Bowman on November 27, 1963 in Durant, OK. She was a homemaker and lived in the Dallas area since 1967.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bowman were held on Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Saint Jo with Rev. Keith Rodgers officiating. Interment was held in Dye Mound Cemetery in Dye Mound Community under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo, TX.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, Billy Bowman, Garland, TX; one daughter, Lori McCommas, Garland, TX; one son, Curtis Bowman, Garland, TX; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Joan Martini and Mary Sue Seibold, both of Dallas, TX; and one brother, David Seibold, Denison. Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers included: Guy Welch, Gerry Bailey, Hal Franklin, Gerald Talley, Dalton Lyons and Jeff Sheridan.
Temple Houston Watson
Temple Houston Watson, 80, of Bridgeport, TX passed away on December 7, 2002.
Mr. Watson was born on May 1, 1922 in Healdton, OK to Robert E. and Jennie Kerbo Watson. He married Hazel Maxine Woods on January 31, 1942 in Wichita Falls, TX. Mr. Watson was a carpenter, a Baptist and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Hardy Post #9 American Legion in Camerson, TX and D.A.V.
Graveside services for Mr. Watson were held on Sunday, December 8, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo with Pastor Ken Cates officiating. Services were directed by Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Kay Fisher, Cameron, TX and Judy Ball, Bridgeport, TX; one sister, Georgia Harris, Bowie, TX; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Helen Whitaker
Mrs. Helen Whitaker, 83, a resident of Bowie for 43 years, passed away on December 16, 2002 in Bowie Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 29, 1919 in Paris, Texas. Mrs. Whitaker was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary Reddy-McClellan VFW Post #8789 in Bowie.
Services for Mrs. Whitaker were conducted Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in Bowie with Rev. Paul A. Henderson and Rev. Jim Turner officiating. Interment followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry Gray, Lynn Gray, Gary Meyer, Mike Sanders, Rex Cobb and Bruce Moore.
Survivors include: one son, William P. "Bill" Whitaker of Bowie, TX; three daughters, Frances Truax of Blanchard, OK, Sue Hachtel of Montague, TX and Carol Brown of Bowie, TX; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren; one sister, Johnnie Coward of Bowie, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.P. "Pack" Whitaker in 1996 and one granddaughter, Toni Tettleton in 1985.
Donnie May Kindsfather
Donnie May Kindsfather, 82, of Nocona, TX, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at the Nocona hospital.
She was born October 7, 1920 in Ringgold, TX to L. M. and Lizzie Aust Montgomery. Mrs. Kindsfather was a waitress and a member of Church of the Brethren. She married Walton C. (Buster) Kindsfather January 6, 1973.
Services for Mrs. Kindsfather were conducted Saturday, December 21, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Hendrix officiating. Interment followed in Nocona Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry Duckworth, Tommy Lewis Hancock, Donnie Sullivan, O.M. Molsbee, Wes Morton and Bob Weaver.
Survivors include: her husband, Walton C. (Buster) Kindsfather of Nocona, TX; one son, Don Earl Brooks of Nocona, TX; one grandson, Byron Dale Brooks; and one granddaughter, Melissa Wadlow; four sisters, Opal Monaco of Bakersfield, CA, Margie Roberson and Dorothy Grimsley, both of Nocona, TX and Neva McGrew of Arlington, TX; and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
