Alta Arizona (Galyen) Campbell
Alta Arizona (Galyen) Campbell, 91, of Saint Jo, TX, passed away April 22, 2003 at Gainesville Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Campbell was born August 2, 1911 in Barry County, MO to Wesley and Bertha Pippin Galyen. She married Howard Campbell on September 15, 1939 in Columbia, MO. Mrs. Campbell became office manager of Seven Valley’s Cheese Co. in 1932 for a period of about 13 years. After moving to Irving, TX, she worked as the office manager for Trumbull Asphalt Co. for twenty years until retirement. After retirement, they moved to Saint Jo and enjoyed the country life. She was very active in community affairs with the Soroptimist Club, charity drives and helping to develop Irving into a thriving community.
Funeral services for Mrs. Campbell were held Saturday, April 26, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at the Williamson Funeral Home Chapel in Cassville, MO. Interment was at King Cemetery in Seligman, MO under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Mike Campbell, Saint Jo, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Campbell; two sisters, Edith Knighton and Lorraine Patton; three brothers, Leonard, Lindsey and Charles Galyen.
Mary Ann Seay
Mary Ann Seay, 60, Bowie, TX passed away on April 24, 2003 in Bowie, TX.
Mrs. Seay was born on November 7, 1942 to Vola Lee (Bogie) Smith and Dan Roberts. She married Hardy Lee Seay, Jr. on December 16, 1961 in Arlington, TX. She was owner/manager of Peggy’s Travel from April 1988 through September 2002. She was a member of the Carter Lake Road Church of Christ. She assisted in the organization and direction of Park Row Church Tuesday/Thursday School in Arlington. She was active in PTA throughout her children’s primary and elementary school years and was a member/former director at Bowie Chamber of Commerce. She attended school in Abilene, Ralls, and Arlington, TX.
Graveside service for Mrs. Seay were held on Monday, April 28, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the Nocona Cemetery under the direction Fry Funeral Home with Jack McKinzie and Louis Cusato officiating.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, Hardy Lee Seay, Jr., Bowie, TX; one son, Hardy Lee Seay, III, Elko, NV; two daughters, Shawn Alis Cusato, Dallas, TX, and Taralea Link, Richardson, TX; three grandchildren, Alis, Daniel, and Brandon Wilkinson, Richardson, TX; two brothers, Daniel Roberts, Sara Vista, AZ and Philip Roberts, Newark, TX, and one cousin, Douglas Maxwell, Corpus Christi, TX.
Pallbearers included: Hardy Lee Seay, III, Glenn Seay, Bradley Seay, Daniel Roberts, Phillip Roberts, and Douglas Maxwell.

Elijah Bray was born on April 23, 2003 to Michael and Alysha Hodges Bray. Graveside services for Elizah Bray were held on Friday, April 25, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. under the direction of Fry Funeral Home with Al Lapointe officiating.

Steve Judah
Steve Judah, 41, Bowie, TX, passed away on April 23, 2003 in Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Judah was born on May 4, 1961 in Terrell, TX. He married Lori Sanders on December 23, 1983 in Throckmorton, TX. Mr. Judah was the owner of the SMJ Marketing Company in Bowie, TX. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bowie where he was a teacher in the youth group. He was active in the Children’s Ministry at Bible Baptist Church for several years.
Funeral services for Mr. Judah were held on Friday, April 25, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Bowie, TX with Dr. Ronnie Lawson, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Bowie, TX; Rev. Chris Dunn, Pastor of the River of Life Church, Bowie, TX and Rev. Eddie Johnson, Pastor of the Grayson Bible Baptist Church, Sherman, TX officiating. Interment was in the Briar Creek Cemetery, Bowie, TX under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.

Jessie "Froggie" Wood
Jessie "Froggie" Wood, 84, Bowie, TX passed away on April 27, 2003 in Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Wood was born on August 24, 1918 in Newport, TX. He married Eula Mae Palmer in 1940 at Henrietta, TX. He was a resident of Bowie for 50 years. Mr. Wood was a retired worker for the City of Bowie Street Department and a life memer of the Reddy-McClellan VFW #8789 in Bowie. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII.
Graveside services will be Thursday, May 1, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Vashti Cemetery, Vashti, TX with the Rev. Jamie Reed, Pastor of the East Side Baptist Church, Bowie, TX officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: three sons, Allen L. Wood, Bowie, TX, Bob Wood, Richardson, TX and G.W. Wood, Arlington, TX; two daughters, Lana Susie Cumby and Sherrie Foster, both of Bowie, TX; six grandchildren, Charity James, Jacksboro, TX, Mickey Reynolds, Henrietta, TX, Christi Wood, Carl Reynolds, Jessica Foster and Heath Foster, all of Bowie; seven great grandchildren, one sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Mae Wood on March 15, 2000.

Adeline Boyd Tucker Clarke
Adeline Boyd Tucker Clarke, 100, Bowie, TX, passed away on April 9, 2003 in Bowie, TX.
Mrs. Clarke was born on December 30, 1902 in Bowie, TX to Luella Penina Boyd and Wiley Tucker. She married Ogden Clarke on September 6, 1930 in Grandfield, OK. The Clarkes established the Ogden Clarke Insurance Agency in 1931. After the death of her husband in 1967 she sold the business to her daughter Nancy Runnells and husband, Charles, but contintued to work in the business until her retirement in 1986.
Mrs. Clarke was honored in 1997 as being the oldest living graduate of Bowie High School. Her graduation picture headed the ex-students section of the BHS Leaves of Gold Centennial Jackrabbit Annual. She was valedictorian of the class of 1921 and attended Bowie Commercial College and the College of Industrial Arts, now Texas Woman’s University in Denton. Mrs. Clarke was a member of the First Baptist Church where she played the piano and organ for many years. She was a President of the Thursday Club, the McDowell Music Club, PTA, Friends of the Library and the Bowie Band Parents. She started the Bowie Band Parents variety show in the early 50’s which lasted over 40 years. Mrs. Clarke was in charge of Bowie’s celebration of the Texas State Centennial in 1936 and Bowie’s vice president for the Montague county centennial celebration in 1958. She was Jim Bowie Days Pioneer Queen in 1974.
Funeral services for Mrs. Clarke were held on Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Bowie, TX with the Rev. Dick Hennings, Minister of Music officiating. Interment was in the Elmwood cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives inclued: daughters, Nancy Runnells and Adeline Beatty, both of Bowie, TX; two grandchildren, Michael Clarke and Lisa Lynn Runnells, both of Bowie, TX; two great grandchilddren, Brandon Clarke and Kelly Lynn, both of Bowie, TX; one niece, Dottie Dell McRoberts, Dallas, TX and cousins, Mary Tucker Weston, Martha Tucker Fuller, Rama Lee Boyd Barker all of Bowie, TX and Mary Jo Henderson Boyd, West Lafayette, Indiana. Mrs. Clarke was preceded in death by her husband Ogden Clarke.
L. B. Clement
L. B. Clement, 85, of Bowie, TX passed away on April 29, 2003 at Bellmire Healthcare Facilities.
Mr. Clement was born on February 25, 1918 in Decatur, TX to Charlie and Myrtle Clement. He married Anna Belle Holland on June 7, 1936 at Montague, TX. He was a resident of Sunset, TX for 74 years before moving to Bowie eight months ago. Mr. Clement was a retired farmer and stockman.
Funeral services for Mr. Clement were held on Friday, May 2, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jamie Reed officiating. Interment was held in Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie, TX.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Mrs. Anna Belle Clement, Bowie, TX; three sons, Raymond and Jerry Clement, both of Bowie, TX and Leon Clement, Victoria, TX; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one special nephew partially raised by Mr. Clement, Dickie Clement, Spring, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Clement was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Myrtle Clement; one baby brother in 1927; two brothers, Selma Clement in 1975 and Winfred Clement in 1956; and one sister, Velma Rhea Wood in 2003.

R.T. "Bob" Fox
R.R. "Bob" Fox, 86, of Bowie, TX passed away on April 28, 2003 in Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Fox was born on December 20, 1916 in Buffalo Springs, TX. He married Evelyn Lawson on February 28, 1942 at Henrietta, TX. He was a longtime resident of Buffalo Springs before moving to Bowie in 1996. Mr. Fox was a retired foreman for Wichita Construction Company. Mr. Fox was a member of the United Methodist Faith and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was also a member of Reddy-McClellan VFW Post #8789. Prior to his retirement in 1984 from Wichita Construction, Mr. Fox had worked for many years in the oil field industry.
Funeral services for Mr. Fox were held on Thursday, May 1, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Cox officiating. Interment was held in Buffalo Springs Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Evelyn Fox, Bowie, TX; one daughter, Bettye Ingram, Grandfield, OK; one son, Bobby L. Fox, Aurora, CO; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Fox was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.N. Fox; five brothers, Earl Fox, Asa, "Doc" Fox, Claude "Dad" Fox, Fletcher "Duke" Fox and Rufus "Rube" Fox; and one sister, Eva "Sis" Ford.
