Wes Allen, age 56, of Bellevue, TX, passed away June 24, 2003 at Wichita Falls, TX.
Mr. Allen was born October 12, 1946 in Kerrville, TX. He married Karen Gregory on September 18, 1970 in Wichita Falls, TX. He owned and operated Allens’s Moving and Storage in Bellevue, TX. for the last 26 years.
Funeral services for Mr. Allen were held Friday, June 27, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Al LaPointe officiating. Interment was at Bellevue Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Karen Allen, Bellevue, TX; two sons, Daniel Allen, Wichita Falls, TX and James Allen, Bellevue, TX; one step son, Scott Bowen, Knoxville, TN; two grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Barnes, Uvalde, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included: Dennis Gregory, Eric Gregory, Dennis Lynn Gregory, Thomas Jones, Robert Ratliff and Kevin Karbiner.
Pauline Cash Stewart
Pauline Cash Stewart, age 83, of Nocona, TX, passed away June 24, 2003 in Nocona, TX.
Mrs. Stewart was born December 16, 1919 in Montague County to Effie L. Lamsacus and Walter H. Cash. She married Kent Stewart and was a waitress.
Graveside services for Mrs. Stewart were held Thursday, June 26, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with Dale Scott officiating. Burial was at Long Branch Cemetery under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: a son, Ronnie Stewart, Nocona, TX; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Twinkle Litchfield, Nocona, TX; and one brother, Mack Cash, Wichita Falls, TX.
Violet Rowena Starke
Violet Rowena Starke, 89, of Nocona, TX, passed away May 26, 2003 at Nocona General Hospital.
Mrs. Starke was born April 23, 1914 in Bartlesville, OK. to Bertha Lee Wright and William Columbus Jones Sr. She was an Avon Representative and had worked at the Nocona Dairy Queen.
Funeral services for Mrs. Starke were held Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Dale Scott officiating. Interment was at Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Gaylord Brown, Ft Worth, TX; one daughter, Linda Brown, Bowie, TX; one sister, Billie Marie Dean, Wichita Falls, TX; nine grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer H. Brown of 12 years; her second husband, Edward Hubert Starke of 45 years, her daughter, Joy Chambers in March of 2003; three sisters; and two brothers.
Dorothy Lee Reasoner Byrom
Dorothy Lee Reasoner Byrom, 66, of Bowie, TX, passed away May 25, 2003 at Dallas, TX.
Mrs. Byrom was born January 28, 1937 in Weaver, AL to Myrtle Cooper and Artis Chambron. She married Morris Byrom on August 3, 1982 at Ardmore, OK. She was a longtime resident of North Richland Hills, TX before moving to Bowie 19 years ago. She was a homemaker, and a member of The Shepherd’s House Church in Chico, TX.
Funeral services for Mrs. Byrom were held Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church with Dr, Larry Cox and Rev. Kern Choate officiating. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, Morris "Tiny" Byrom, Bowie, TX; five daughters, Sharon Hanna, Bowie, TX, Constance Fry, Crowley, TX, Deborah Douglas, Lander, WY, Stephanie Davis, Woodville, TX and Lisa Conner, Bowie, TX; two sons, Gerald Byrom, Ft Worth, TX and Norman Byrom, Jacksonville, AL; nineteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; four sisters, Jean Abernathy, Attala, AL, Jerry Ann Royster, Jacsonville, AL, Virginia Green, Southside, AL and Wyeleen Byrom, Jacksonville, AL; and a host of neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle Cooper and Artis Chambron; one brother, Gregory Crow, one grandson, Tracy Dean Fry; one granddaughter, Lucrecia Byrom.
Pallbearers included: Bill Fry, Ronald Davis, Jr., Zachary Davis, Jeffrey Daves, Sean Stallings, Troy Byrom and Christopher Byrom. Honorary pallbearers included: Clyde Hanna, Terry Fry, Don Douglas, Ron Davis, Harold Conner, James Stewart II and Brian McCann.
Imogene Fay Ferguson
Imogene Fay Ferguson, 86, of Portland, OR, passed away May 21, 2003 at Foster Care Center.
Mrs. Ferguson was born November 16, 1916 to Adaline Nivena and Edward Albert Conyers. She was a Social Worker.
Graveside services for Mrs. Ferguson were held on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain Creek Cemetery with family officiating. Services were directed by Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Judy Kabica and Joan Amico, Portland, OR; two sons, Gene Ferguson and Jerry Ferguson, Portland OR; fifteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Ina Hope Conyers.
Hillard E. Bell
Hillard E. Bell, 72, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2003 in Gallup, NM.
Mr. Bell was born in West Texas to Bob and Josie Bell. He lived most of his life in Fort Worth before returning to Bowie.
Surviving relatives include: three sons, Bennie Bell and David Garner, both of Bowie, TX, and Scott Bell, Alvord, TX; three brothers, Bob Bell, Raymond Bell and William Bell, all of Bowie, TX; three sisters, Alta Turner, Gould, OK, Marie Mowery and Mae Reynolds, both of Bowie, TX; six grandchildren; and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Josie Bell; and two sisters, Alma Whitecotton and Estelle Goss.
James Clinton "Jimmy" Sadler
James Clinton "Jimmy" Sadler, 83, passed away May 29, 2003 at United Regional Health Care 11th Street Campus in Wichita Falls.
Mr. Sadler was born July 11, 1919. He married Edna Mae Hewitt on March 4, 1989 in Las Vegas, NV. He owned Jimmy Sadler Dozer Service, then for several years owned Jimmy Sadler Sand & Gravel and operated that business until it evolved into Jimmy Sadler Ready-Mix Concrete in Bowie for 30 years until his retirement in 2000.
Funeral services for Mr. Sadler were held Sunday, June 1, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darius McKay officiating. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Edna Sadler, Bowie, TX; two sons, James Michael Sadler, Fort Worth, TX and Mark Steven Sadler, McKinney, TX; mother of his children, Margaret Wrenn Sadler, Crowley, TX; one stepson, Michael Hewitt, Nocona, TX; one stepdaughter, Susie Wallace, Wichita Falls, TX; three grandchildren, Holly Letz, Fort Worth, TX, Abigail Hodges, McKinney, TX, and Amanda Sadler, McKinney, TX; four great grandsons; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant sister and one daughter, Cheryl Lorraine Sadler.
Pallbearers included: Wayne Bell, Doug Letz, Will Hewitt, Don Stephenson, Loyal Killen, and Norbert Flusche, Sr. Honorary pallbearers included Leo Durham, Steve Kelly and Don Hendon.

Rose Mae Durham
Rose Mae Durham, 62, Bowie, TX passed away May 25, 2003 at Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Durham was born June 30, 1940 in Sunset, TX. She married Albert Wayne "Pete" Durham on August 19, 1956 in Bowie, TX. She was a lifetime resident of Bowie and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Carter Lake Baptist Church and a former member of the Bowie Lions Club.
Graveside services for Mrs. Durham were held on Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindale Cemetery with Rev. Lamoin Champ officiating. Services were directed by Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two brothers, Virgil Flowers, Boyd, TX, and B.F. Flowers, Bakersfield, CA; four sisters, Violet Cornelison, Howe, TX, Inez Rowan, Bowie, TX, Faye Nivens, Alvord, TX, and Mary Chadwick, Bowie, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and one very special little boy she called her own and he called her "Maw-Maw". She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wayne "Pete" Durham on July 19, 1993, and one brother, Jack Stephenson in January of 1994.
Pallbearers included: Donny Thomas, Joey Rowan, Ben Nivens, Tommy Chadwick, Terry Brown, and David P. Williamson.
